"You mean, you've seen really weird tattoos on him?"

Brent was sitting in the living room with a laptop on his lap just after 8pm: "What kind?"

"I can't remember the details, I just know it was probably an outline like that."

Hermosa closes her eyes and tries to remember for a moment, drawing down several symbols on a piece of paper, circles over circles that Brent hasn't seen either, but which look familiar.

"Davis was a devout Buddhist, and everything else he would have tattooed on his body had something to do with religion, so the circles of writing, too, would probably have something to do with ancient India or that part of Sri Lanka's culture."

Brent mused in analysis. Like all the countries in the world where Buddhism is practised, it has its origins in India and was heavily influenced by Sri Lankan and Burmese Buddhism in the thirteenth century.

Those who were deeply Buddhist in East Asia usually had some knowledge of the Sanskrit or Pali languages of ancient India.
