Aurora's POV

“My Lady, the Mustard powder is ready,” Elena handed me the bottle as I stood in front of the mirror looking at myself.

“Thank you, inform….” I paused and hid the bottle inside my drawer when I heard my room door open.

Why doesn't this family knock before entering my room?!

I frowned my face but quickly masked it with a smile when I saw it was Grandma, “You are up so early?”

I smiled and nodded my head, “I want to talk to you about something,” Grandma seemed worried for some reason.

“I will be outside in case you need me,” Elena said and I nodded my head.

I pulled out a chair for Grandma, and she sat, and I sat opposite her, “I'm really worried about something,” I nodded my head, urging her to continue.

“That day at the wedding reception party, when they were to test Tristan's eyesight, did you pray that day? Did you desperately pray for him?” Curiosity sparked all over Grandma's face.

Her question was weird, I didn't understand what she was trying to say.

Aurora's POV We all ran to Tristan's room, where we heard the screaming; Tristan's sister-in-law opened the door without knocking. “What was that scream….” Grandma paused when we saw Ava in Tristan's arms. “It.. hurt...I … can't… bear… it..” Ava cried as she tightened her hold on “Are you okay?” Indigo rushes to Ava. “My child, What happened?” Tristan's mother pulled Ava away from Tristan's hold and hugged her. “My body is itching a lot after I finish bathing with the water I prepared in Tristan's room; I can't bear it, Mother,” Ava cried as she used her hands to scratch her body. My eyes met Elena's eyes and I could see them glimpse with happiness. I removed my eyes and lowered my gaze. This wasn't what I wanted. I wanted to teach Tristan a lesson and now Ava has fallen into the trap I didn't set for her. “Who prepared the bath with you?” Tristan's mother asked and Ava shook her head with tears rolling down her eyes. “Nobody Mother, nobody,” Ava's body was red and

Aurora's POV The suspense was killing me like hell; Ava had woken up but hadn't said anything yet. Tristan's mother had instructed me not to go forward with the royal party arranged, she sent someone else to do it. “Your Royal Highness, the Lycan king, Tristan makes his way to the queen consort's room,” I heard the announcement and followed by my door opening. “Lycan,” Elena lowered her gaze and I didn't bother to stand up. “You may leave,” Tristan instructed Elena, I held her hand and shook my head. “Sir, the queen doesn't want Elena to leave her presence,” The royal tutor who was familiar with sign language said. I never really asked the reason for hiring one. “I said leave the room this instant!!!” Tristan's voice sounded like an angry lion. It was obvious that he was angry. “My Lady, I will be outside,” Elena gave me a reassuring nod before leaving my room. “Why are you here?” I questioned and the Royal tutor conveyed my message to him. “Why?” Tristan scoffed, he grabbed

Tristan's POV I seriously don't know what Aurora was thinking; she was trying to harm me, and now she harmed Ava; what if she had harmed herself in the process? She should have thrown that vase. Mother and Grandma will definitely make sure she doesn't go unpunished, and Mother doesn't even like her. “Are you going to watch Lady Ava give Lady Aurora such a punishment? Today is her first official ball as Queen, Luna, and your wife,” my head was all over the place, so I didn't care about what Travis was saying at the moment, “Mental asylum?” “Travis not now, please,” I was trying to think. This shouldn't be happening right now but it was. “What she said was it the truth?” I lifted my gaze to meet Travis's gaze; I raised my eyebrows so he would know I was confused, “She said you married her because you wanted to use her; is that the truth?” “I promise Travis, it isn't like that…” “What abilities was she talking about? You said you had a special reason for marrying her and I always

Aurora's POV I paced around the room, thinking of what to do, when I saw my door burst open, “Who do you think you are to come into the Queen's…” Elena questioned but paused. I went to check why she had paused; Ava, Indigo, the nurse, and some other strange men were standing right in front of the door. Why were they here? Who are those men? “She is the one who is mentally unstable; you can take her,” my eyes widened, and I began to shake my head aggressively in disagreement. “That's a lie; the queen is perfectly fine, and are you following her orders over the Queen's order?” Elena stood in my front shielding me. I wished she could really shield me from them. “This isn't Lady Ava's order, this is the Queen's order,” I wasn't even surprised, “Bring her,” the nurse ordered the men she came with. I knew someone from the family would give the order. “Is the Lycan king aware of this madness?” Elena questioned. At this point, I could already see my life before my eyes. “The Lycan kin

Tristan's POV “Aren't you worried about Aurora?” Travis said as we both prepared for our sword training. We were already trained but sometimes we like training more, especially late at night when everyone is sleeping. “Don't you dare mention that name in the palace ever again,” I warned, “She and her servants left on their own accord, it's been four days, if they wanted to return they would have but they aren't here so it would only mean they are happy where they are.” “Was I the only one who found it weird that Ava found the letter first and no one, not a single soul saw the queen consort leave this palace on the night of the ball?” Travis has been saying this word since the day Aurora left the place. I was angry when Ava took the nurse to Aurora's room the next day after the ball, and she wasn't there; we only found her letter. In the letter, she asked us not to bother looking for her as she had gone far away and would never return. “Why are you blaming Ava again? I had escorte

Aurora's POV “Father, please help me,” Those were the words that I had been murmuring for a long time; they had turned into my favorite words. I don't know how long I have been here, I can't even tell if it's day or night. I wasn't given any food, the only water that passes through my throat is the water poured on me to wake me up. I only know when the day changes because Ava comes here with different clothes. “It's time for your injection,” The nurse said and I looked at her weakly. That's how my life has been: injection and the electric chair, and when Ava comes, she always hits me and uses a knife or something sharp on me. “Why… are… you…. Doing… this?” I managed to ask Ava, despite the pain I was in. I hid my hand very well under the chain, so Ava wouldn't notice; I had managed to lose my hand free, but I was waiting for the right to use it. “Me?” Ava smiled and I looked at her with anger. How can she smile over something like this? “You hit Tristan with a vase, and I sa

Tristan's POV I sat on the floor as my brain was all over the place, I had searched everywhere but nothing, no single sign of her anywhere. I was scared, what if something had happened to her? What if Indigo had done something to her? The more these thoughts crossed my mind, the more scared I became. “It's noon and nothing, I think we should stop already,” One soldier complained to Travis. “We have searched far and wide but nothing; if someone had really taken her, then shouldn't we check the lakes?” Another soldier suggested and it made my blood boil. They wouldn't dare say this to me but they would say it to Travis because he was also a soldier. “Have you gone mad?!!” Travis yelled before I could interfere, “The queen is missing and this is all you can think of.” I have never seen Travis worried about a woman this way, did he really care about Aurora that much? Were they friends? How did the friendship even grow? I walked closer to them, “Search around this area; if

Tristan's POV “What….. what…. What…. Does that mean?” I asked when I couldn't understand the eye contact between the woman and the physician. “Lycan, please calm down,” Travis said to me but I shook my head. “Do something, my wife is bleeding!!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. “Take him outside,” The physician instructed and Travis dragged me outside. “You all should return to your place of work,” One of the soldiers instructed and they all left the front of the physician's house. “Tristan, Tristan,” Travis called, and I looked at him, “I need you to be strong; nothing is going to happen to her.” I shook my head, “Did you hear what they said, she doesn't have a pulse.” “You know very well that doesn't mean anything,” Travis tried to make the situation better but I wasn't having it. I placed my hand on my head, “You don't get it; my curse has followed her because she married me; she is in danger now; I shouldn't have married her.” “I have seen the woman who stabbed her in th

Tristan's POV Hearing those words leave Diana's lips sounded like a betrayal to me; I paused and turned to her angrily, “What did you just say?”“It's almost seven months now, and there is no improvement; let your Mother clean up the room. Maybe then Aurora would understand the reality,” Diana said.“How can you say that, you know that's how Aurora is coping,” I was trying my best not to yell at her.“Don't you think she has mourned enough?” My lips felt sealed as a part of me understood what she was saying and a bigger part of me felt she was spewing nonsense.I jerked my hand off her hand, “You cannot tell a Mother when to stop mourning the loss of her child.”“I know that very well but what if that's the only way to bring her out of this depression?” I glanced at Diana, opened the door, and left the office.I didn't walk; I ran to the nursery; when I got to the entrance of the north Wing, my legs refused to move further as I saw Mother and some guards throwing the things out of th

I'm not bothered that she still wears mourning dresses or dresses like a widow, I'm only bothered about her health.“Look after her,” I said to Elena, “I have some work to finish off.”I didn't want to leave Aurora, but I couldn't leave my duties like that, and some councilors were waiting for me in my office. Aurora’s POV Mother’s nature of emotional blackmail was still the same; she has always done it, and right now,w, she is still doing it.I was irritated, I wanted to show her that I was better than her at emotional manipulation, “Even better,” I emptied the gallon on my body, “Let us all go to hell.”“Tristan!!!” Mother yelled when she saw I was playing the same game with her.“How can I stop a grieving mother? I should have punished Ava but I felt it would be better if Aurora punished her because she was closer to our child than I was, so how can I stop her?” Tristan supported me, “If I was killed would you sit and watch? Wouldn’t you kill the person too?”“The situation is different, you are a full human, and her child was only a fetus,” Mother whined, “That child wasn’t even formed yet; it was just blood!!”I couldn’t believe what mother had just said, “A fetus? No, there isn’t, do you know why? Because your child is dead!!! You child isn’t in the world of the living!!!”“No!!!” I covered my ears and screamed, “Please, don’t.”Diana pushed the cradle, she began to scatter the room and I ran after her trying to stop her from doing, “Not my baby’s room please, please.”Diana gripped my hand, “I won’t ask you to be

Tristan’s POV It’s been days and I haven’t done anything. It’s not like I don’t want to do anything, it’s just that I don’t know what to do. Everything was on my neck; it was almost like before when I had Skylar in one hand and Mother in the other. I haven’t gotten the courage to see Aurora, she has been in her room, she wasn’t talking to anyone, she didn’t even want to see anything. I lifted my head from the table when I felt someone tap me on my back, “I have been calling you for ages.” “I’m sorry Diana, I didn’t hear you,” I apologized. I thought by now I would have exposed Diana and kicked her out of this palace but she was here helping me instead. “I know,” Diana sat opposite me, “I wanted to talk to you about Aurora.” “What about her?” I hurriedly asked, “Is she okay? What’s wrong with her?” Diana placed her hand on my hand and I calmed down, “It’s nothing much,” I let out a breath of relief, “I don’t like the fact that everyone is agreeing with her that her child is

Diana hurriedly carried the child from my hand.“You said something I didn’t hear right,” I didn’t even know when I stood up and walked to where Beatrice was kneeling, “Repeat what you said!!!”“I said it was Lady Ava who had asked me to mix pennyroyal and tansy in Queen’s Aurora tea the moment we found out she was pregnant,” Beatrice cried, “I didn’t want to harm another mother because I know the joy of being a mother but just like you have threatened me with my child that was the same way I was threatened with my child, a mother would go to any length to protect her child even if she has to harm someone else.”I scoffed, “Why didn’t you say something when you were given the order?!!! Why didn’t you come to me?!!!”“Everyone knows that Lady Ava is your best friend from childhood; if I had accused her without any evidence, I wouldn’t have seen this day, or would you have believed me?” I laughed out loudly like a madm

Tristan's POV Beatrice stared at me without saying anything and it only made my blood boil, “Don't you feel like talking?” I balled my hand into a tight fist. “If you have already heard it then I believe you don't need any explanation,” Beatrice replied arrogantly. “How dare you speak that way?!!!” Diana yelled, “Do you know who you are speaking to?!” Diana stood to her feet angrily. “I know who I'm speaking to, and that's why I'm speaking with nothing but respect,” Beatrice answered slyly. “Explain the pennyroyal and tansy herb,” I gritted, “Else I will make sure you suffer, you will beg for water, you won't see, you will beg for death and it won't come.” “Even if you fed me to the dogs I still have nothing to explain,” Beatrice said adamantly. “Okay,” I stood up, “Anybody that can give me any information on Beatrice, no her weakness, if anybody can give me her weakness, not only would I free that person from here, I will make sure to give you three acres of land.” “Anyone?”

I didn't want to think of what couldn't or couldn't have happened, so I kicked on the horse to hasten its speed, and everyone rode their horse behind me at the same speed.I didn't wait for the horse to stop; I jumped down and ran into the palace, “Tristan,” Aurora called; she ran and jumped into my arms.I tightened my hold on her, “I'm glad you are Okay, thank you for being okay.”I was surprised to see the way everyone ran outside to meet me with a huge smile on their faces. Their eyes looked swollen, and the most disturbing thing was they were wearing mourning clothes.“What's going on?” I questioned as I pulled away from Aurora. My… baby…” I didn't want to lose my child, so I bent to the floor and started using my hands to pack the blood together.“Call the physician,” I heard Grandma's voice break behind me, “Take her to the south Wing.”I held my tummy protecting my child as both Diana and Elena carried me to my room in the south Wing. “Aurora, I promise nothing will happen to you,” Diana touched my hair with a small smile on her face. Anyone could see the smile was fake.I shook my head, “Not…not… me… save…. My… child…. please.” Diana's silence told me everything I need
