The push wasn’t easy at all. I pushed like my life was solely dependent on it. The child made it so difficult because it refused to come out no matter how hard I pushed.

I passed out and woke up again. My moans of pain weren’t enough because I started screaming at each count of push I heard and still, the baby never came out.

At last, Brian rushed in. I almost burst into tears upon seeing him because if he had been here earlier, it wouldn’t have been this difficult.

“Calm down, Nora. It will be fine.” Brian whispered in my ear, and I nodded aggressively.

It would. Now that he is here, it will be fine. His soothing words came at the right time as I tried to regulate my breathing because I was already sweating. The wet towel on my forehead was concealing the beads of sweat that were on my head.

“Relax. Everything will be fine.” Brian repeated.

I wanted to yell at him for putting me in this position, but I couldn’t blame him because I wanted to birth children for him too. Delivery
