“You have another woman?” I choked out, these words were like a thousand needles, piercing my chest.

He never said a word and walked out of the room, locking the door behind him.

My heart bled, it hurt so much that I almost found it hard to breathe. I coiled up on the cold floor, refusing to believe the reality before me.

“My mate loves me so much,” I kept reminding myself, but each time I said this, my cheek where he had slapped me hurt, reminding me that I was giving myself false hope.

“What went wrong?” I cried.

I hated being pathetic, and helpless, but here I am in the situation I hated most. I had given up my pack, where I was pampered and spoilt to come be with my mate only to be treated like I had no value.

A scream tore from me as the pain of it all hit me, I cried like never before. I cried till I couldn't anymore and only lay there, unmoving. Hours passed, and I dozed off to sleep due to how exhausted I was. When my eyes peeled open, the day was already gone. The room was even darker than before. Something moved at a corner of the room, forcing me to spring up to my feet. The squeaky sound from that corner announced the fact that whatever was there was a rodent and it all added to my fears.

“Get me out of here!” I screamed, consumed by fear at what was rattling at a corner.

I blindly found the door and started banging on it to be let out.

“Ralph, anyone!” I screamed.

“Just let me out of here!” At this point, tears were streaming down my face. I couldn't believe how today, a joyful day turned into a nightmare. From proudly sitting next to my dad to being locked up in a dark smelly room.

Anger bubbled inside of me and I banged the door even more loudly.

“I am Aurora Ryker, only daughter of Alpha Adrino, I won't let you disrespect me this way!” I yelled at the top of my voice.

My utterance finally brought attention to me and the door was unlocked. My mate’s scent hit my nose.

“Ralp…”

“I see you don't know your place yet?” He asked, forcefully pushing me. I landed on the ground with my butt and looked up at him. The light from outside had illuminated the room, so I could see him clearly.

“You think you are still the Alpha’s daughter?” he laughed “You lost that title as well as your value. You're of no use right now…”

“Does my status matter? We are mates,” I made a last attempt to bring him back to his senses.

“I would never have approached you if you were some lousy she-wolf,” he began.

“My plan was to get married to you, get rid of your worthless father, and take over your pack, then sell you off to Sebastian….” His fist clenched and glared down at me, his eyes literally emitting fire.

I was pissed, I felt worthless and used. I stood to my ground not backing down and staring at him.

“You’re a monster!” I yelled.

“You want to kill my father and sell off your mate as a sex slave to another wolf?” I asked in disgust.

Alpha Sebastian was a notorious Alpha who buys young she-wolves for sexual pleasure.  he had been all over me for a while now and Ralph obviously knows about that. To think my so-called mate wanted to sell me off to him disgusted me.

“I'll still make sure to put you to good use. I'm sure Sebastian will be happy to buy you in exchange for an Army to defeat your pack,” he smiled. “That fool you call your father is getting on my nerves lately…”

I spat on his face, stopping him from speaking further.

“You’re disgusting,” I choked out. “You do not deserve me, you bastard. I regret leaving my pack to be with you.”

I watched him pull out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped my saliva off his face.

“Bitch,” His palm met my face. I felt blood fill my mouth. The slap had cut my lip.

“Bastard!” I growled, glaring murderously at him.

He kicked my legs, bringing me to my knees. Before I could recover from that, he punched my face and my stomach. He punched and beat me till all I could do was pant. I didn't let my tears flow for him, he didn't deserve to see them.

“Beast,” I choked out, amidst the intense pain I was going through.

He let out a sardonic laughter.

“In that case let me show you how dangerous beasts can be.”

Before I could utter a word, he was on top of me, tearing the little piece of clothing I had on, off my body.

I thrashed and did all I could to get him off me, but it was a futile battle. In the end, he beat me like I was of no value. He beat me, wounded and wrecked me. All I could do was cry, yell and curse him.

I wept like never before. Never did I imagine that a day would come when my fated mate would beat me like I didn't matter. My body trembled, I shook violently, silently weeping and twisting in pain for over two hours.

At some point, I couldn't hold it in anymore. The pain was suffocating and my heart felt like it was being shredded.

“Fuck it all,” I yelled, a sudden feeling of anger and resentment all coursed through my veins.

My fatigue disappeared and an unknown energy filled me. With tears in my eyes, I looked down at my hands, only to see they had changed into claws. In what seemed like a flash, I transformed into a huge red wolf, my first shift.

Howling into the night in pain, I effortlessly knocked off the door that held me bound.

“sh…she has transformed. Get the Alpha,” the guards are the door, tried to stop me, but only ended up being ripped apart.

I raced into the night, knocking down anyone who tried to stop me, I went all out, grabbing and tearing them all, till I was out of the disgusting mansion of my mate.

Some of his strong men shifted and raced after me. Thankfully, my wolf was significantly bigger and faster than theirs, as I was an Alpha female. I effortlessly got away from them and got into the woods, where I let out all my frustration, running my life depended on it.
