84 ~ Lucas

I dropped the call, beaming with joy that I had spoken to Aurora for that long. Finally, I was warming my way up to her heart after so long. If only she knew how I thought about her everyday and that the fact that she had a child did little to deter me from chasing her.

I wanted to give her all the love she deserved and I needed her to know it.

Getting the chance to move to New York was a blessing. For once I loved that my mother had transferred me to oversee the New York regional headquarters of the family business. She said I needed to catch a break after the divorce which was quite messy because my ex wife wanted to render me broke. If this move wasn't God's plan I don't know what was.

I decided I was going to surprise her and not tell when I was moving in.

"Lucas?"

I looked up from my screen as I heard the one voice I had all my life.

"Mom, what's up?"

She sighed, walking further into my office. She reached for my hand and held it in hers. "I miss you already."
