Chapter 194: Save your tears

Bella’s POV

I found my feet in front of Emily’s ward. How I got dressed and arrived here I have to recollection of that. My mind was trapped in regret and guilt that I felt almost lifeless as I pulled open the door.

The sound of the beeping machine continuously rang in my ears and I took closing steps to behold Emily’s pale face in an oxygen mask.

“Why?...”

My shaky voice broke into choking tears as I took a sit beside her bed and held her hands. It was at that moment I noticed her heavily bandaged wrist. In fright my palm raised to block a gasps from escaping my lips.

Just then the door opened and closed to reveal the arrival of a man. He looked familiar but I couldn’t place a name to his face.

“Are you the one who called me?”

He gave a slight nod in response and I immediately rushed over while wiping my eyes and sniffing my nose.

“What happened? When is she gonna wake up? What is the doctor saying?”
