Two years later...

I was feeling too shaken after the test result, and I wasn't even sure if I could drive in such a disturbed state. I seriously considered leaving my car in the clinic's parking lot and taking a taxi home. I wouldn't even need to explain anything to anyone since my aunt was at the country house with Ethan's parents and brother, while Ethan himself had left last night for important matters in Curitiba and wouldn't be back until the next day.

I reflected deeply, sitting inside the car, my head resting on the steering wheel, unable to make any decisions at that moment, no matter how simple. I have no idea how long I stayed there in that same position when someone tapped on the car window, catching my attention.

"Ethan!?" I asked, truly incredulous.

"Open the car, Mariana," he requested, gesturing intensely and seeming a bit agitated.

I complied and unlocked the car, and quickly he was sitting beside me inside the vehicle, and I would say he looked like a man in despair.

Dear readers, you will learn the story of another virginity auction now, and also a little more about how the story of "Bruna and Arthur" continued. Sarah I was stunned by the scene unfolding in the grand boardroom of Mitchell & Associates. It was unbelievable, almost surreal, to face the harsh reality of our impending bankruptcy. How could this have happened? A whirlwind of anguish and despair churned inside me, but I fought to maintain a stoic expression, a skill I had cultivated since childhood. However, my twin sister did not share the same self-control. She repeated the question vehemently to the lawyer who had been our father's representative for decades. Her voice echoed through the room, reflecting the disbelief that consumed us, while her expression contorted in a mix of anger and despair. The response we received, however, was as monotonous as it was devastating, hammering relentlessly on our already shattered hearts. "As I mentioned just a few minutes ago, during the rea

SarahAfter a few days, reality truly hit us as the deadline to leave our house approached, and we had no idea what to do. I couldn't believe how selfish our own father had been in spending our entire inheritance on his vices. We discovered that our father, Patrick Mitchell, was addicted to gambling and had been losing a lot of money for years. He would take out loans and renew them, until it reached the point where he had to sell the company to pay off debts to dangerous people who were threatening him."I can't accept this at all. It's absurd that we have to leave our home because of our father's stupidity," Rachel spoke loudly during one of our last breakfasts in our old house."You can't talk about our father like that, Rachel. He's dead.""I can, and I am. How did he manage to lose millions in gambling debts?""There were also some business ventures that went wrong...""That just makes it worse! An experienced man shouldn't fall for the schemes of opportunists. And look where we

  • Auctioned for the Billionaire   Risky Madness

SarahAfter trying in every way to convince Rachel to give up this crazy idea, I finally gave in, because I would rather be by her side in this insanity and try to bring some sense to the most important person in my life.“I want you to explain to me how this auction works.”At that moment, I thought the best thing to do was to follow the saying "If you can't beat them, join them."“Shirley's friend participated, as I told you. After I register, I will be up for auction for twenty-four hours and after that period, whoever has offered the highest bid will be the winner and will take the extraordinary prize, this being my virginity.”“I am shocked to see how calmly you talk about this.”I was truly surprised by my sister's determination to lose her virginity to a stranger, for money, just to try to maintain a lifestyle that no longer belonged to us and she didn't want to accept this reality. And although I agreed with Rachel's crazy idea, I honestly didn't believe it would come true. SarahRachel was missing all day, and I ended up doing the entire move to our new address by myself. We couldn't bring furniture, only our personal belongings, but there was a lot to gather, both mine and my sister's, and it was quite difficult.I rented a simple apartment in a popular neighborhood, but I knew we couldn't stay there for long if we didn't manage to find a job soon. I'm fearful about what my sister intends to do and hoping she gives up on this madness.I was worried because the last time I heard from her was on Sunday night when she sent a message saying she would hang out with her friend Shirley to try and forget about our problems a little, so she wouldn't be able to help me with the move. When Rachel finally showed up the next day, my concern only grew because she brought an additional problem into our lives. It was something really serious, and it shook my emotional stability, something that not even the recent "poverty" had achieved."What do you mean you lost your

SarahOn the day to deliver the item won in the online auction from the underground app, I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I thought about letting my sister face the consequences of her insane actions, maybe then she would finally learn the lesson and avoid getting into trouble again.Rachel was sitting on the couch in the apartment we rented, as I had decided that we would only move to our own place once everything was resolved. Seeing her in tears, I went to my room to get ready, making it clear that we could only proceed once everything was sorted out. I couldn't resist looking at my sister crying, ready to meet a man who expected something from her, something she could no longer offer."I will go in your place," I said, gathering my courage. As soon as

  • Auctioned for the Billionaire   Without compassion

KaelWe are now on the main deck of my yacht, the Mary-Mary after I instructed a maid to take Rachel to the lower deck, where there was a romantically set table. It was a trap to deceive that shallow girl, creating false hopes, but there was no planned romance for that night.I wasn't in a hurry to execute my plan. While I conversed with my rebellious assistant, comfortably seated on a luxurious couch, enjoying the background music and savoring a good whiskey, Rachel was out there, probably thinking and fearing what was to come.Upon further thought, she was indeed self-interested and perhaps only concerned about the money she would receive. However, she had nothing else to offer, and I made sure of that as well.“She doesn't know she fell into a trap created by you, from losing everything she had to the invention of this fake auction app you had created, all with the intention of having her at your complete disposal, to humiliate her.”“I don't understand how I can be blamed for Patr

  • Auctioned for the Billionaire   No Turning Back

KaelI looked at the beautiful girl in front of me, who seemed quite nervous if the constant movement of her legs under the table was any indication, but I felt no compassion for her whatsoever. She could deceive someone unaware, someone who didn't know her like I did, even though I had never met her in person. Nevertheless, I knew more about her than many people in her own circle. I even believed that Sarah, her twin sister, didn't know just how selfish Rachel was, as well as being a petty manipulator who could make people do whatever she desired without them even realizing they were being manipulated. But now was not the time to think about the "nice" sister. I would deal with that later. To be fair, I would do what I promised Patrick: buy his company and pay off his gambling debts, which would also help me avoid problems with Ryan."Can we have a civilized conversation now?" Rachel spoke as she placed her utensils next to her plate, but I had already noticed that she had barely tou

SarahAfter my attempt at dialogue with the arrogant man, I realized his pettiness and cruelty, reveling in his pleasure of mistreating others. He was completely mistaken about my lack of willingness to fulfill the agreement. I hadn't sold anything, and it was understandable that I didn't want to proceed, although he didn't know that.Either way, I decided to put myself in Rachel's shoes. Even if I couldn't convince him to abandon that madness, I knew I had to move forward, albeit reluctantly, as he pointed out. I looked around, feeling even more uncomfortable with the obligation to submit to a man who didn't even have the courtesy to create a fictional name, choosing to remain anonymous.I understood his desire to remain incognito, but I couldn't comprehend his aversion to being with me and yet still wanting to proceed. Kael Coming home and finding Sarah was truly a special moment, something I deeply missed during the months we were apart. I was foolish and arrogant, and I prefer to forget about that time. However, today the situation wasn't as pleasant due to Bianchi's inconvenient presence, who came from London to visit my wife. It bothered me quite a bit, although I knew I had no right to forbid this meeting. I love Sarah deeply, but I'm not her owner. She is free to receive whoever she desires, and it's not up to me to impose rules. Nonetheless, I can't deny that I didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone with Bianchi, and I wonder what they were talking about downstairs. Where are my mom and Maira when I need them the most? They could be keeping this annoying pilot company instead of wandering around. Initially, I thought about waiting for Sarah in her room, but I wanted to avoid putting any pressure on her. So, albeit reluctantly, I headed to my own room. After a long, hot shower, I wrapped

SarahI feel a profound relief when Kael's hand wraps around mine, as if that simple gesture could push away some of the burden I carry. However, the feeling is bittersweet because I'm hiding a truth that eats away at me from the inside, but it also shows me that we're not as different as I thought."I've made mistakes too, by letting myself be influenced by everything Rachel said."I confess because it's the truth. I look into his eyes, seeking transparency, even though I myself am hiding something important. Kael gazes at me attentively, his eyes filled with emotion, and he makes a proposal that catches me by surprise:"How about we write a new story for us, Sarah?" He asks sincerely, and I can see that his words come from the heart. "I'm just asking for a second chance, to do things differently and prove that I'm telling the truth."My feelings are in turmoil, but Kael's sincere and vulnerable gaze moves me. I look at this strong and determined man, who holds my hand so gently, as

KaelThe scheduled time for work appointments went unnoticed because my mind was a tangle of worries. I knew Ryan would have to deal with my absence, but at that moment, I had no capacity to focus on business. I wasn't in a state to think about business, and Ryan would have to handle things without me. After all, the company is also his asset, as he is my brother, and half of the shares belong to our mother.I called Ryan with the intention of explaining my absence and my troubled mind."I already suspected that you wouldn't be able to attend the meeting today," Ryan's voice sounded understanding, as if he were reading my thoughts. "I tried to get in touch with Sarah, now that the diagnosis is confirmed, but she doesn't want to talk to me."The mention of a confirmed diagnosis caught me off guard. Confused, I questioned, "Confirmed diagnosis? What are you talking about?""I managed to briefly talk to Maira on the phone a few minutes ago. She told me about the medical evaluation."The

Without even thinking about what I was about to do, I grabbed the nearest object and threw it against the door.It was my cell phone, and I ended up damaging it, which only increased my agitation. I had never thrown objects around before, let alone with the intent of releasing my frustration."What happened?" Maira asked, entering the room.I glanced at the floor where the phone lay, still intact but probably no longer functioning. She followed my gaze and realized what I had done, picking up the device from the floor. As expected, the screen was cracked in several places."I im

KaelEntering that hospital room and finding Sarah lying in the bed, aware of the real possibility that she might never walk again, made me feel like the worst human being in the world. Deep down, I knew my responsibility in all of this was significant, and the weight of guilt hit me like an avalanche.I decided at that moment that, regardless of what she might say now, I would do everything in my power to help her. Even if she no longer wanted me around, I was determined to continue taking care of her, even from a distance."Leave us alone, Maira," Sarah's voice didn't sound like a request, but rather like a firm order. Just from that short sentence, I could sense how the accident had transformed her personality, and not in a positive way."You can call me if you need anything," Maira says before leaving the room. Although her words were directed at Sarah, I knew it was a message for me."What do you hope to achieve by approaching me? Do you think you'll gain sympathy from everyone b

  • Auctioned for the Billionaire   Ignoring the Truth

SarahAlthough no one had the courage, or perhaps it's more appropriate to say "integrity," to inform me about the significant probability of facing paraplegia, this concern had been lingering in my thoughts. Even though I tried to ignore it, I knew it wasn't normal to feel nothing and be unable to move my legs when the rest of my body was functioning fine. However, accepting this reality and confronting the inevitable conclusion was no simple task. Apparently, I had also chosen to deceive myself, preferring to believe in the inappropriate actions of those around me. But after the conversation with Lorenzo, I could no longer delay accepting the truth.I needed to accept that this was happening and learn to deal with all the difficulties that people in the same situation of paraplegia face, something I likely developed due to the accident."It's still not definitive, Sarah," Maira repeated her motivational speech. "The final diagnosis hasn't been given yet, and the doctor said we'll on

  • Auctioned for the Billionaire   Honesty

KaelDespite Enrico making it clear that he doesn't agree with my past choices, I don't regret sharing this story with him. What matters right now is Sarah's well-being. While I want her back and he's my rival in the competition for her heart, it's crucial that everything is transparent. Honesty is now paramount. No more hiding secrets or telling lies. It was precisely this lack of clarity that led to all this confusion and the situation Sarah finds herself in, lying in a hospital bed with a real possibility of not walking again."Did you manage to talk to Rachel?" Maira asks when we're back in the waiting room."I was informed that she's still in Monaco. But she's not answering our calls, and honestly? Sarah is better off without her toxic presence," I clarify. "Has she been asking for her sister?""Not really. Sarah hasn't been asking for anyone, really. She's been very introspective and bitter since she woke up, and that's not a good sign, considering everything that's coming," Mai

KaelI listened carefully to Maira's words and felt my heart tighten with sadness. I wanted to be by Sarah's side at that moment, offering the support that, out of pride and being a complete fool, I hadn't given before – the love I felt for her."I don't understand why the doctor doesn't just tell Sarah the truth!" I vented, genuinely outraged. "I don't see any reason to keep her in the dark like this."Maira had just informed me that Sarah had already noticed the lack of movement and sensation in her legs, and now I had many questions, especially after the doctor's visit in the morning."Something else happened today," Maira said, looking somewhat apprehensive."What?""She agreed to see Enrico.""I can't believe she agreed to see him, but can't even stand to hear my name!" I said, irritated."Her relationship with Enrico is very different from what you both had, Kael," Maira tried to calm me down. "From what I understand, considering both of their reports, you made a serious mistake
