“Alpha Anton picked out these dresses for you to select from and wear one to lunch.” Cynthia repeated.
Kyra could not find any response to give to Cynthia after hearing that these dresses were sent to her by Anton and that she was supposed to pick one and wear it to have lunch with him now and dinner later. Why would he send her different dresses? Did he pick them out by himself? Kyra did not want to even imagine it. Why was he interested in eating with her? She could not find any response from asking herself these questions. Her shoulders slumped down as she released a defeated sigh, “Just help me with any of them.” “You don’t want to pick the one you will wear by yourself?” Cynthia looked surprised. “No,” Kyra responded, “Anyone you pick will do. I’m sure you can pick out the best, right?” She pushed the work to Cynthia. No way was she going to be selecting her dress by herself. They looked beautiful and while she must have enjoyed such activity in the past; picking out her own clothes, that phase of her life was over. She had problems that were bigger than picking out her dress for lunch and dinner. “Really?” Cynthia looked so excluded, she was practically bouncing on her feet. Kyra could not understand the girl’s excitement about selecting clothes but did not think much about it either. She gave a nod in response, “Really.” “Yay,” Cynthia let out a tiny squeal. “I need to take my bath. I’m sure you’ll be done by the time I’m out.” Kyra did not wait for any response and even if she waited, she wouldn't have received one because Kyra was already buried in the pile of clothes. Kyra pulled off the clothes on her body as she entered the bathroom and closed the door behind her. She noticed the full length mirror in the bathroom and moved to stand in front of it stark naked like the day she was born. She stood to her side in front of the mirror as she slowly raised her hand to touch her stomach. She was a month gone already, but nothing was showing on her stomach. It was still so flat, no one would know that she was pregnant unless she told them. Werewolf’s pregnancy was six months unlike humans who gave birth at nine months so she knew that very soon she would start showing. The joy she had felt when she first found out about the presence of this child was now nonexistent. All she wanted now was to protect the only person she had left in this word; her baby. After a few minutes of standing there and gently rubbing her stomach, she moved to take her bath. It would be wrong of her to keep Anton waiting for long. “I have the perfect dress for your lunch and dinner today.” Cynthia called out in excitement as Kyra stepped out of the bathroom, while waving a blue gown in one hand and a white gown on the other hand. “Okay.” Kyra gave a nonchalant response as she went ahead to sit at the vanity so that Cynthia could help her dress up. Seeing that Kyra was not reacting as excitedly as she was, Cynthia’s shoulders slumped in disappointment before she moved to help Kyra to dress up. Kyra was out of the room once Cynthia was helping her with the gown and her hair. She rejected the slippers that were brought out for her. It was high and looked uncomfortable. Her gown was long so no one would really notice. She was just going to have lunch with Anton and come back. There was no time to waste, she needed to get this done and over with so that she could come back quickly and sleep. “Please, Miss Kyra, wait for me!” Cynthia cried as she ran behind Kyra. Kyra ignored her completely as she stepped out of her room. She heard Cynthia whining about how she was walking too fast, and she should at least wear the slippers that were brought out for her and not the one on her feet. Those words barely stopped Kyra. It was nonsense to her. It was already enough that she was going to accept Alpha Anton’s invitation to lunch. No wag in hell was she going to go there and be in discomfort. Her slippers were okay! Cynthia's voice droned out in the background. Then, it was just a couple of maids moving around. It took Kyra a while to notice them as she was just marching on and to realize that they were all bowing to her as they went about their work. It made her more antsy. What was wrong with them, and why were they bowing to her? Were they not the same set of people who were mocking and bullying her just a few hours ago? The only thing she asked herself repeatedly was, “What the hell was going on here? What’s changed?” It seemed weirdly out of place, and strangely dysfunctional. She was about to take a turn by the left when a hand suddenly touched hers. She turned to see it was Cynthia, sweating profusely. “It's not that way, Miss Kyra,” She managed. Kyra nodded slightly as in her haste to walk fast and not have Cynthia complain about her choice of slippers, she had forgotten that she was a stranger who did not know her way around the pack. She let Cynthia lead her to the dining table, which happened to be at the other side of the hall. There was a black chandelier up, and the setting was black and gold. Normally, it would have looked like something out of a horror movie, but it didn't. She almost liked it, and that made her forehead squeeze with a deep frown. It took Kyra a moment to realize that Alpha Anton was in the dining room with her and was already seated at the head of the table, with a fork and knife on either side of his hands. And, he was watching her approach him with a dark and piercing gaze. How ways were moving from her head to toe, and her steps nearly faltered, but she caught herself, jutted her chin and kept moving forward. Kyra was almost at the table when she shifted her gaze to Cynthia. The girl bowed slightly and she made herself scarce before Kyra could even say anything. Kyra took a deep breath, and continued to move towards the long table. “Alpha, I shouldn't be in here with you. I don’t think it’s advisable to eat lunch together. You are an alpha and I’m just the girl you bought for a hundred thousand dollars from her mate who did not want anything to do with her.” Kyra said once she got to the table. Okay, she had planned on quietly having lunch with him and quickly returning to her room to sleep, so why was her mouth suddenly moving like they had a will of their own and saying things she did not plan to say? She was so sure that he would get angry with her right now and she would get into the trouble she’s told herself she should avoid at all costs. Her eyes widened a little and her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach but it was from fear. Anton, whose face has been blank the few times she has encountered him, had his lips curled up in a smirk and his eyes shining brightly with amusement as he watched her babble.Kyra paced around her room, anxiously wiggling her fingers nervously. Her eyes darted to the window when she heard a knock, and she quickly ran to slide open the glass to allow Tristan to come in. The window was very tall and wide, Tristan could pass through easily with another man his size and Tristan was not a small man. Most of the time, she was grateful for this window because how would she be able to see him anytime she wanted to and could not leave her father's palace? Her room was also at the end of the building, far from her siblings' rooms so they won't be disturbed here. “Did anyone see you?” She asked him with wide eyes as she looked him from up to down to check if he sustained any injury from climbing the wall to her room that was on the third floor of her father's palace. “You worry too much.” Tristan laughed as he jumped inside the room and wrapped her up in a hug. “Of course, I worry too much. It's because I love you,” Kyra said as she hugged him back, breathing in
Kyra flinched in fear before gathering herself together. She wiggled her hands together in nervousness and nodded, “Y… Yes dad, he is my mate and I'm pregnant for him." She was not supposed to say that last part now. She was supposed to tell Tristan the news first.Kyra felt cold sweat drip down her back as the whole place became quiet. She felt Tristan stiffen behind her and her father who was standing in front of her was now looking at her like he was about to kill her. All she could see in his eyes was anger, hatred and disgust.“You are pregnant for this bastard." his voice was cold and quiet as he pointed at Tristan who had now stepped out from behind her. He was not asking her, his words were more of a statement that held venom. “Y.. yes" she nodded“Did you just say that you are pregnant with my child?”Kyra turned to look at Tristan with a wide smile that became shaky and finally fell from her face when she saw his expression. He was not looking happy. Far from it, he was l
“Just have a look at yourself. Not only did you kill your mother, you also want to join hands with the enemy to kill your father. How could you be so stupid? You are nothing but a useless daughter. You are nothing but a traitor and traitors are not welcomed here. You cannot excel in your studies or your training. You are weak and your wolf is weak too. The only thing you know how to do is spread your two legs for your pack's enemy. Don't worry, I will see to it that you spend the rest of your life spreading your legs to whoever wants you to. Get the hell up and prepare to be sold out to the highest bidder. That's if anyone would still want you after finding out that you are pregnant. If no one wants you, I will rip that thing out myself.”Her father turned away. He paused at the door and said over his shoulders, “I wish your child would also kill you at childbirth like you did your mother, you evil thing." Then he was gone, slamming her door hard and his footsteps echoing down the hal
Kyra was going to run. Yes, that was her plan because she couldn't sit back and allow her father to sell her off to an alpha she knew nothing about. Most of her father's friends already have mates of their own, she would be damned before she is bought and turned into a sex slave.Even if her father hated her, never allowed her to go close to him and her siblings always shoved her off and sneered at her whenever they met each other whether in the corridor or at school, she had never been treated badly to the extent of being made to do laborious jobs. Her father did not turn her into a slave — he did not allow her to lift her hands even for one day to do any hard chore — and that's exactly what she might be turned into if she sits back and allows her father to sell her off. If only she had known, if she had not been foolish and blinded by the mating bond between her and Tristan, she would never have been led on gullibly. Now, she was pregnant and all alone without anyone to console her
He was not supposed to be here. Anton does not accept invitations to things like this but he was curious, bored, and needed the entertainment. The invitation letter he got was enough to spark a thousand curiosity in him and he knew that it would be fun to just sit around people where there would be lively music, good food, and a little show to entertain him. He had been working for so long and needed a little break and this little ball that Alpha Ezekiel was hosting in his pack would do the trick. He left his beta and Gemma in charge of his pack and took off with eight of his men. “Alpha Anton. I did not expect that you would come." Ezekiel beamed with a wide smile that hid his fear as he ran up to Anton who had just stepped into the party with two of his men. Other alphas also stopped what they were doing to stare at him in shock. They couldn't be blamed, he was never one to go to things like this and anytime he appeared, there must be trouble. “I didn't know that I would come eit
Anton immediately grabbed the drink on the table in nonchalance to sip from it after calling out such a huge amount. He could feel the stares of the other Alphas, but he didn’t care. All he could focus on was the woman in front of him. She had tears in her eyes that she refused to let fall. She was weak yet strong. These attributes were in such a huge contrast with each other, he found it more entertaining than listening to the underground whispers and murmurs."Alpha Anton, you don’t do things like this, so how come you’re buying off this pregnant maiden?" Alpha Jacob, one of the few Alpha's who was bold enough not to flee from the table, queried.Anton shifted his gaze to look at the bald man. "For the same reasons as you all. A man should be entertained sometimes, shouldn't he?” he coldly asked. There were whistles and shouts of approvals from the rest of the Alphas at his words, but he didn’t look at them at all. He turned back to Kyra who was no longer looking at him. She had he
"This way, miss," Kate, the maid that was appointed to Kyra said as she opened the door at the top floor of the east wing.Kyra looked at the men who held her by the arm on both sides with a deep frown. They ignored her expression, pulling her into the room in force. "Don’t try to escape, we are standing right outside the door," the guard grunted out as he left her with the maid.Kyra stepped into the room, slightly stunned at how elegant it was. "I don’t think I’m supposed to be here. You should take me to another room. I’m a slave that alpha Anton bought after all, and all these can be a bit too much to handle," she whispered to Kate.Kate shook her head but there was mockery in her eyes as she looked at Kyra from head to toe. "We don’t make the rules here, and I have no idea what you did to Alpha Anton, but he asked me to bring you here. Keep at it, so you can be better off than the rest of us.""What are you saying? I have no intention of licking that man’s feet. Whatever he has
"Please, can you stop with all of these?" Kyra wanted to snap at him but her voice came out as a plea. She knew that she was under his mercy and he could do anything he wanted with her and she won’t be able to stop him. She was his property after all.She watched as Alpha Anto blinked once then twice. It was almost as if a fog cleared from his eyes because he immediately dropped his hand from her cheek and rose to his feet.Kyra held onto her bedsheet as she looked up at him, trying hard not to show how distressed she was.He looked down at her, "You can’t stop me," he said simply.Kyra took a deep breath as she tried not to glare at him. "Look, I have no idea what type of game that you’re playing, but I don’t have interest in that. I don’t want you to touch me or say I’m beautiful. You have to respect that," she told him, her voice coming out harder than she expected.‘Shut it, Kyra. If you want to survive then keep quiet.’ Her wolf snapped at her and Kyra pushed her to the back of
