Hannah’s POV

When I blinked my eyes severally, I felt the cold breeze blow on my skin, the silent hums of the machine were audible in my ears, and the lighting in the room was shining brightly into my eyes.

I wondered what was going on and what I was doing in that room; it looked so strange and weird, but I couldn’t imagine what was going on around me.

Someone dressed in a white apron, looking like a nurse, walked close to me as I lay down on the bed. I was still blinking my eyes, trying to get myself to understand what was going on at that moment, until she came close to me.

“Hello ma’am.” She said it softly.

I couldn’t respond to her greetings because it looked like my mouth was heavy, and I didn’t even have the energy to say anything at that moment.

“Are you okay? Do you need anything?” She asked me again.

I still couldn’t respond; I just kept blinking my eyes and moving my head from one side to the other in discomfort.

“Should I get you water?” She asked me the third quest

Aaron’s POV As I tried explaining to my mom, she was feeling reluctant to listen just because she was eager to get me out of prison and deal with the person who had brought her son to the police station. My mom was a no-nonsense person who always wanted to be at the top and would not allow anyone to take advantage of her. Mum always wanted to be in charge and wouldn’t agree to allow anyone else to control or be controlling her. I knew her so well, and I tried to calm her down. “Mum, you need to listen to me because you can’t fight a case that you don’t know anything about. What exactly do you want to tell them?” I asked her sharply. "Okay, what happened? Let me hear you! And please summarize, because there’s no time on our side. I need to get you out as soon as possible.” Mum replied.“Ma, are you sure that you’re going to get us out of this place?” Doctor Peter asked my mom out of curiosity.“Wait, where did you say that you know this man from?” Mum asked, ignoring the question o

Aaron’s POV The detective paused when my mother asked him that question; he was obviously trying to explain the evidence that they had to detain me and Dr. Peter in the police station without the freedom to leave until they were granted permission. My mom was a billionaire, and she was very educated until the point of her PHD, so she had reached the zenith level of education and had become very vast and knowledgeable. Anyone who would contest with her will actually try because it won’t be easy to win her in any argument that she is involved in. "Madam, we’re working on it; that’s why we have not allowed them to leave the premises until we complete the investigations and can ascertain that they’re both innocent.” Detective Kelvin replied to my mom. “Why in the first place do you think that they have anything to do with the killing and the robbery? I mean, my son wouldn’t do that, and anyone with a conscience wouldn’t be involved in such a thing.” My mom said, raising her voice. “C

Aaron’s POV “Hannah? Are you sure about what you’re saying?” Mum asked me sharply. "Yes, mom, I’m sure. She needs our help, and we have to help her; we can’t just afford to leave her just like that.” I said to my mom. “But you haven’t told me what exactly happened to Hannah; you said it’s complicated. Why is it complicated? What’s the issue?” Mom asked out of curiosity. “Mum, let’s see her first and foremost because my mind is not at peace and I’m so restless. If I don’t see Hannah, I won’t be able to answer your questions.” I explained it to my mom. “Okay. What about him?” She replied, pointing to Dr. Peter, who was standing behind us. As Dr. Peter noticed that my mom pointed fingers at him, he looked at us and walked closer to us. “Thank you so much for saving us; I never expected it at first, and I was so scared that I would go to prison; none of my family had been to prison, and I didn’t want to be the first person.” Doctor Peter said to him:. "Oh, really, you were doubtin

Aaron’s POV "Okay, so let’s get started. Where is the so-called lady that we’re waiting for?” My mother asked him again. "Okay, let me go and call her for you.” One of the nurses responded. I was standing restless and inconvenient at the moment; my heart was beating fast, and I was so scared of what might have happened to my lover—Hannah. She was so dear to me that I couldn’t afford to lose her or allow anything bad to happen to her in any way. Even though she doesn’t recognize me again, the love I have for her is still there, intact and strong, and it is not wavering or shaking at all. “Where is nurse Thelma?” I asked Dr. Peter, as I didn’t see any sign of her. “Can’t we just go to the ward and see her instead of waiting for one nurse, Thelma, to take us there?” Mum asked.“Does anyone of you know any patient by the name Hannah?” I asked the nurses at the reception. “Not really, sir; there are a lot of patients out there, and it’s not possible for us to know all of them because

Aaron’s POV As everyone left the room, leaving me and Hannah alone, I summoned the courage to move close to her and talk to her. My heart kept pounding as I walked towards her, but as a man, I refused to show my weakness and just acted strong. There was silence in the room, and Hannah was looking at me as I came towards her side. The only sounds that were being heard were the humming from the machines and the sound of the clock that was ticking. And after a few seconds, I got to the bed where Hannah was lying. “Hannah, what’s happening? Why are you doing this to me?” I asked her, still standing and looking at her. She just kept staring at me without replying to me and acting as if she didn’t hear what I was saying. “Please reply to me; I’m talking to you. Don’t do this to me.” I pleaded. Hannah was still looking at me and didn’t say anything, and at this point, I was thinking that she was deaf and dumb.I remembered the doctor saying that she was only suffering from amnesia, whic

Aaron’s POV Things were going south, and I was getting very nervous and sad at the moment because things were not going as planned, and I was afraid of losing Hannah to death because it was going to be traumatic, and I was not ready for that kind of experience at all. Mum had always been keen on the person I should marry; she wants me to marry someone from a rich background and someone who was influential just like us, just to foster the relationship and bring in more money to the family, just like they say: birds of the same feather flock together, so that’s the exact thing my mother had always wanted. "Mum, are you seriously going to leave me here with my problems?” I asked her out of curiosity. “I gave you money already, so you don’t have any issues, she replied. “Money is not my problem, and you know it. I have my own money, and I can sort myself out.” I told her.“Oh then, whatever!!” She screamed.“Mum?!!” I yelled. “I can’t stay here; I told you that I have an appointment

Aaron’s POV As I waited for Hannah in the reception, my heart was beating so fast, and I was very nervous about the whole situation. Doctor Peter was seated beside me, and he was silent and looking all around like someone who had lost something.Mum had left me in the hospital, and I had no close person to talk to or share what exactly was on my mind. I was so bothered, but then, as a man, I needed to stand strong and not act like what I was going through at the moment. Tears were in my eyes, but then I just couldn’t let them pour out like a little baby. I was angry at my mom for leaving me, but then I understood that she was upset that Hannah spoke in such a rude manner. I also expected that mom would take a chill pill and listen to my explanation instead of just walking away. Fine, she had an appointment with a commissioner, but then I’m her only son, and I think I should be her top priority no matter what happens. I was boiling in anger towards my mom, and I called her number s

Aaron’s POV As we were laughing and chatting about our pasts and present, I had forgotten about what was happening at that moment, and I felt lighter at that moment because it’s been so long since I laughed so hard like that. I was used to frowning and shouting every time, but now I finally had the opportunity to laugh. I wished it was my mother that made me laugh and eased me from the stress, but unfortunately, it was a stranger that made me laugh so hard and forget my problems at that particular moment. I never believed in friendship or having someone to talk to because I was wealthy and got everything I wanted, and I never faced any circumstances that made me disoriented. But for the first time, I saw the essence of friendship, and having someone to pour your mind into was a great relief. “Hope you feel better now? And I hope I’m not adding to what’s wrong with you.” Doctor Peter asked me after a long while of laughter. “Oh yes! I feel better and happier! I’m really grateful fo

Aaron’s POVThe low hum of the city filtered in through the windows as I sat in my office, staring at the paperwork spread out in front of me. The numbers blurred together, and I realized, for the first time in a long while, I was finding it impossible to concentrate.I leaned back in my chair, running a hand over my face. I’d been doing everything I could to keep things running smoothly at Spears Real Estate, especially after the chaos of Hanna’s kidnapping and the media storm that followed. But no matter how hard I tried to keep my head in the game, my thoughts always drifted back to her.Hanna.She’d been staying at my place ever since the hospital released her, and though she was physically healing, I could tell she was still struggling emotionally. The trauma from what Michael put her through was something that wasn’t going to fade overnight. But that wasn’t the only thing on her mind. I knew she was trying to figure out where she fit in my life—if she even had a place there. And

Hanna’s POVI had thought that once I was back on my feet, things would start feeling normal again. But standing here in Aaron’s penthouse, watching the city lights blink outside the window, it was clear that "normal" was nowhere in sight. Not after everything that happened with Michael. It had been a few weeks since I’d been released from the hospital, and while my body was healing, my mind was far from it. I still woke up in the middle of the night, heart pounding in my chest, haunted by the sound of Michael’s voice and the feel of cold steel against my skin. But even worse were the thoughts that followed—thoughts about Aaron, about what we’d become after all of this.Aaron had been nothing but supportive, always there when I needed him. He had gone from cold and distant to someone I could rely on, someone who made me feel safe in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time. But that safety came with complications. The more time I spent around him, the harder it was to ignore the growing ten

Aaron’s POVThe elevator doors slid shut behind me with a soft click, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I stared at my reflection in the polished metal, the dark circles under my eyes and the tightness in my jaw a testament to how much weight I’d been carrying lately. I looked like hell, but that didn’t matter right now. Not when Hanna was upstairs, resting, still healing from the trauma she had just gone through. And now, as if dealing with Michael hadn’t been enough, Maureen had reappeared, dragging her own shadow over everything. She had come to my home—Hanna’s temporary refuge—to check on her. Or so she said. But I knew better. Maureen was never one to act out of kindness or concern. There was always an agenda.I could still hear her voice, calm and composed, as she had stood in the hallway only moments ago, trying to justify her involvement with Michael. "It was never part of the plan for her to get hurt," she had said, as if that made everything better.I clenched my fists, a

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    Chapter 148: Healing Together

Hanna’s POV The soft murmur of voices outside the bedroom filtered through the door, but I couldn’t bring myself to move. Every inch of my body ached, bruises blooming across my skin, a cruel reminder of how close I had come to losing everything. I shifted slightly in the bed, wincing as a sharp pain shot through my ribs. The bedroom was dim, the only light coming from a small bedside lamp casting a soft glow over the plush surroundings. Aaron’s apartment—no, his sanctuary—was a far cry from the cold, sterile hospital room I had woken up in earlier. He had insisted on bringing me here the moment the doctors cleared me for release, refusing to let me spend another night under harsh fluorescent lights and beeping monitors. I was grateful, but I couldn’t shake the heavyness in my chest. I hadn’t just escaped Michael’s grasp; I’d barely clawed my way out, and the cost was starting to weigh on me. Everything felt surreal. I was safe now—at least, physically—but my mind kept replaying

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    Chapter 147: Desperate Moves

Hanna’s POVThe night air hit me like a cold slap, jolting me back to reality as my lungs burned with every gasping breath. My legs ached, but I kept running. I didn’t have a destination in mind—just the desperate urge to get away from Michael. The knife was still clutched tightly in my hand, and I could feel its weight grounding me, a reminder that I had finally fought back. But as I rounded the corner of the building, a crushing thought stopped me in my tracks. Aaron. I had left Aaron behind. What was freedom without him?My feet skidded to a halt, and I leaned against the brick wall, my heart pounding so hard I thought it might burst. How could I have run? I had left Aaron alone in that room with Michael, with a man who was out of his mind. Michael wouldn’t stop at anything. He was dangerous, and now Aaron was at his mercy.I pressed a hand to my chest, trying to calm the panic that was rising inside me, but the fear wouldn’t let up. Images of Aaron—bleeding, hurt, or worse—floode

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    CHAPTER 146: Relief

HANNA As I emerged from behind the dumpster, Aaron's eyes locked onto mine, filled with relief and concern. His face, etched with worry, softened as he took in my disheveled appearance. I collapsed into his arms, tears streaming down my face, as the weight of our ordeal finally began to lift."Thank God you're safe," he whispered, holding me tightly. His warm breath against my ear sent shivers down my spine, but this time it was a comforting sensation. I felt protected, sheltered from the horrors we'd faced. The sirens and chaos surrounding us faded into the background as I buried my face in his chest, letting the steady beat of his heart calm my own racing pulse. We stood there for what felt like an eternity, the only sound being our ragged breathing. Aaron's hands cradled my face, his thumbs wiping away my tears as he searched my eyes for any sign of hurt. I knew he was looking for more than physical wounds; he was searching for the emotional scars that Michael had inflicted. I tri

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    Chapter 145: Escape Plan 2

Hanna’s POVMy heart raced in my chest as I felt the weight of the knife in my hand. The cold steel was both a comfort and a curse. I had finally found a way to fight back, but I wasn’t sure how far I was willing to go to protect myself. Michael’s eyes widened in shock as he took a step back, his hand pressed against the wound. “Are you insane?” he hissed, a mix of disbelief and anger in his voice. The blood seeped through his fingers, staining the fabric of his shirt. “Let me go, Michael,” I said, my voice steady despite the chaos swirling inside me. “This is over.”He took another cautious step back, assessing the situation, but I could see the anger boiling in his eyes. “You think you can just stab me and walk out of here?” he spat, a cruel smile creeping across his face. “You don’t understand who you’re dealing with.”“I understand perfectly,” I shot back, my grip tightening on the knife. “I know you’re a coward who thinks he can control everything with fear. But not anymore.”M

Hanna’s POV“Are you done?” Micheal askedMy eyes were on the keys he had hooked to his belt buckle, the keys to the door.I nodded and pushed the plate of half-eaten steak towards him.I held my breath and watched his face for a reaction as he picked up the plate and left the room nothing. He hadn’t noticed anything, great. I slid the knife out ofmy pocket and held the sharp edge to the wires binding my arms. It was extremely uncomfortable having to hold the handle with my fingertips while trying to cut through the wires.Fortunately, it was slowly making a dent, but it was torture seeing how slow it was. I was starting to lose hope in using the knife when I heard footsteps approaching, and I hurriedly slid the knife underneath my buttocks and sat on it. Michael returned back, this time with my phone to his ear. He was talking to someone, and there was a satisfied grin on his face. Had Faith managed to get him what he wanted? I felt bad for her; she was dragged into all this simply
