AARON'S POV

"Where did you get this?" I asked.

"Your mother told me when she was stabilized, I got a copy, and well." He said

I stared at the newspaper a bit more; maybe I wasn't seeing it clearly or my eyes were playing tricks on me. Unfortunately, the image neither blurred out nor was corrected, nor did I snap out of some weird dream.

So this was really, really great.

I checked the publishing date, and it was this morning. That was a good thing. Hopefully I could nip it by the bid before this escalated into something damagingly serious.

"I'd recommend you give your mother some time to rest." He said

I nodded absentmindedly, and he left the room, leaving me standing and staring at the article.

I looked at my mother; the first shocker had been her health, and now this? I could imagine the surprise she must have felt seeing this; for a woman who piriotized public appearances, this was a disaster.

I got out my phone and dialed my company's PR team; normally, I would have just cal

AARON'S POV"A chance?" My mother asked, "Yes, give her a chance to show that she's not some lowlife like you think." I said that I could almost hear the struggle going on within her to accept my suggestion. "And if I'm still not convinced?" She said"If you really give her a chance and you're not convinced, then I'll do as you wish." I lied, but in this situation, this was the only way to ensure peace that I could think of.She looked at me skeptically for a bit, and then she nodded in agreement."I'll think about it." She said that was her way of saying yes."Remember, you have to really give her a chance. No degrading remarks, nothing." I pointed it out.If this was going to work, she would have to put her tongue under control. "I don't make degrading remarks, but okay, I'll try my best not to upset her with my words." She said "So we have a deal?" I asked, feeling satisfied."Indeed, we do; I'm happy you're slowly coming to your senses." She said "Mother!" I corrected her."O

HANNA'S POVI felt kind of numb, just seated in Faith's kitchen and scrolling through the blogs. Thankfully, they hadn't really circulated; I only found them because I went looking; hopefully that meant that people hadn't really seen it. Faith had gone to work after saving me from a near panic attack; it just felt so unexpected and so sudden. I liked to believe I had thick skin, but being called a whore publicly had to be disorienting for anyone. Faith had told me to get off my phone and do something else before she left, but my curiosity had gotten the better of me. I went back to see what else people were putting out there about me. I tried to not be hurt, they had no idea who I was, they couldn't even properly make out my face in the picture. To them, it was just another picture to twist into telling the story they wanted it to say, but here I was, the victim of those stories. "Enough." I said to myself as I set my phone on the table. This wasn't going to help me; it wouldn'

Hanna's POV "You don't sound fine." He said "Just a little shaken up." I said, Faith looked so worried that Aaron would get angry if I found out. The last thing I wanted was for her to get in trouble because of me. "Hanna, are you sure?" He said "Yeah, why do you sound so worried? Is something wrong with your mom?" I asked about changing the subject. "No, actually, she's fine. She's just very reluctant to leave the hospital." He explained That was a shocker; I didn't think anyone would like being hospitalized. "What exactly happened to her?" I asked, and I still had no idea what put his mom in a hospital in the first place. "She had a stroke." He said Stroke? "Wow," I said. When you looked at it from another angle, it kind of made sense. If she went around making enemies the same way she was trying to make one out of me, it wasn't shocking that she was likely to have a stroke. "Yeah," he said. "Can I send my regards, or she's still... against me?" I s

AARON'S POV"I can work on my own; I'm not that old." Mum said with an irritated tone to the nurse who was trying to lift her up. The innocent nurse looked rather flustered and just quietly took a step back. I couldn't have been less concerned; what mattered to me at the moment was Maureen's acceptance to finally leave the hospital. I escorted her out of the hospital and to the car waiting to take her home."I'll come see you as soon as I've gotten things sorted out at home." I said "What really is there to sort out?" She asked and got into the car. I shrugged my shoulders and didn't give a reply. Why was I going home? For one, I was tired of being and sleeping in the hospital. I didn't know what my mom found so comforting in that building; every hour there was some emergency or some panic somewhere. And then there was Hanna; I wanted to see her so badly. I didn't get to leave the hospital even once because of my mum and I didn't think it would be a good idea to being Hanna the

HANNA'S POVAaron pulled me into a hug as soon as Faith was out the door. Why didn't he just hug me when she was there? There was nothing she didn't already know. "Did you miss me?" I whispered, It felt really nice seeing him again, even though we hadn't been apart for that long. "Yes." He said "I missed you too." I said when he let me out of his embrace. "Is she here?" I asked in a low tone. By she, I meant Maureen; she was the main reason I didn't want to come back before Aaron. I wasn't sure if he was going to take her with him or not, and I still wasn't a fan of bumping into the woman. "Huh? Who?" He asked "Your mom," I said. "Oh, she's not." He said, and I felt a wave of relief; I didn't show it though. I just nodded and looked around. "So how have you been?" He asked "Fine," I said. If fine was finding out my face was on the front page of a newspaper and then being so stressed I had a hallucinated figure standing outside in the middle of the night, then yes, I had bee

MAUREEN'S POVIt was nice to be back within familiar walls; personally, I hadn't liked the extra stay at the hospital, but like all things, it was a means to an end. A rather important end. There were a few messages from my secretary keeping track of the appointments I had missed and their rescheduled dates. I didn't joke with my business, but it was a necessary evil. I went up to take a nap, which was short-lived, and then went back down to relax in the yard with a cup of tea in one hand and a women's magazine in the other. The sky was perfect for a peaceful cup of tea.Aaron should have been home by now, and I could bet that woman was with him. The thought made my skin crawl, but I had to get a hold of my emotions. If not for the stroke, I was almost definitely sure Aaron would have cut ties with me, so there was a silver lining to the incident after all. I couldn't bear the thought of losing the son I loved so dearly, so for now, I'd have to go by his terms, or at least make it

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    CHAPTER 98: The bad after the good.

HANNA'S POVSurprisingly, the visit to see Aaron's mom wasn't as bad as I had expected. I'll admit it felt a bit foreign and weird, but I had this strong feeling she'd say or do something degrading, but I guess I was wrong. People don't change that fast, or do they? I didn't complain anyway; I just smiled through everything and relished the seemingly perfect moment. Even when Aaron left the both of us in her garden, she was so nice. She pointed at a few flowers, telling me their names and origins with passion filling her eyes. I could tell that that much was real. We even spent some time talking about the business world; even though I didn't have a lot to say in that regard, I just listened to her talk instead. "Make sure you come by some other time," she had said when we were about to leave. "We will.". Aaron responded with a smile. "Not you." She said and looked me in the eyes. "Me," I said. I hadn't expected that. "Yes, we have a lot of catching up to do." She said kindlyI

Aaron’s POVThe low hum of the city filtered in through the windows as I sat in my office, staring at the paperwork spread out in front of me. The numbers blurred together, and I realized, for the first time in a long while, I was finding it impossible to concentrate.I leaned back in my chair, running a hand over my face. I’d been doing everything I could to keep things running smoothly at Spears Real Estate, especially after the chaos of Hanna’s kidnapping and the media storm that followed. But no matter how hard I tried to keep my head in the game, my thoughts always drifted back to her.Hanna.She’d been staying at my place ever since the hospital released her, and though she was physically healing, I could tell she was still struggling emotionally. The trauma from what Michael put her through was something that wasn’t going to fade overnight. But that wasn’t the only thing on her mind. I knew she was trying to figure out where she fit in my life—if she even had a place there. And

Hanna’s POVI had thought that once I was back on my feet, things would start feeling normal again. But standing here in Aaron’s penthouse, watching the city lights blink outside the window, it was clear that "normal" was nowhere in sight. Not after everything that happened with Michael. It had been a few weeks since I’d been released from the hospital, and while my body was healing, my mind was far from it. I still woke up in the middle of the night, heart pounding in my chest, haunted by the sound of Michael’s voice and the feel of cold steel against my skin. But even worse were the thoughts that followed—thoughts about Aaron, about what we’d become after all of this.Aaron had been nothing but supportive, always there when I needed him. He had gone from cold and distant to someone I could rely on, someone who made me feel safe in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time. But that safety came with complications. The more time I spent around him, the harder it was to ignore the growing ten

Aaron’s POVThe elevator doors slid shut behind me with a soft click, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I stared at my reflection in the polished metal, the dark circles under my eyes and the tightness in my jaw a testament to how much weight I’d been carrying lately. I looked like hell, but that didn’t matter right now. Not when Hanna was upstairs, resting, still healing from the trauma she had just gone through. And now, as if dealing with Michael hadn’t been enough, Maureen had reappeared, dragging her own shadow over everything. She had come to my home—Hanna’s temporary refuge—to check on her. Or so she said. But I knew better. Maureen was never one to act out of kindness or concern. There was always an agenda.I could still hear her voice, calm and composed, as she had stood in the hallway only moments ago, trying to justify her involvement with Michael. "It was never part of the plan for her to get hurt," she had said, as if that made everything better.I clenched my fists, a

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    Chapter 148: Healing Together

Hanna’s POV The soft murmur of voices outside the bedroom filtered through the door, but I couldn’t bring myself to move. Every inch of my body ached, bruises blooming across my skin, a cruel reminder of how close I had come to losing everything. I shifted slightly in the bed, wincing as a sharp pain shot through my ribs. The bedroom was dim, the only light coming from a small bedside lamp casting a soft glow over the plush surroundings. Aaron’s apartment—no, his sanctuary—was a far cry from the cold, sterile hospital room I had woken up in earlier. He had insisted on bringing me here the moment the doctors cleared me for release, refusing to let me spend another night under harsh fluorescent lights and beeping monitors. I was grateful, but I couldn’t shake the heavyness in my chest. I hadn’t just escaped Michael’s grasp; I’d barely clawed my way out, and the cost was starting to weigh on me. Everything felt surreal. I was safe now—at least, physically—but my mind kept replaying

Hanna’s POVThe night air hit me like a cold slap, jolting me back to reality as my lungs burned with every gasping breath. My legs ached, but I kept running. I didn’t have a destination in mind—just the desperate urge to get away from Michael. The knife was still clutched tightly in my hand, and I could feel its weight grounding me, a reminder that I had finally fought back. But as I rounded the corner of the building, a crushing thought stopped me in my tracks. Aaron. I had left Aaron behind. What was freedom without him?My feet skidded to a halt, and I leaned against the brick wall, my heart pounding so hard I thought it might burst. How could I have run? I had left Aaron alone in that room with Michael, with a man who was out of his mind. Michael wouldn’t stop at anything. He was dangerous, and now Aaron was at his mercy.I pressed a hand to my chest, trying to calm the panic that was rising inside me, but the fear wouldn’t let up. Images of Aaron—bleeding, hurt, or worse—floode

  • Attracted to my billionaire boss    CHAPTER 146: Relief

HANNA As I emerged from behind the dumpster, Aaron's eyes locked onto mine, filled with relief and concern. His face, etched with worry, softened as he took in my disheveled appearance. I collapsed into his arms, tears streaming down my face, as the weight of our ordeal finally began to lift."Thank God you're safe," he whispered, holding me tightly. His warm breath against my ear sent shivers down my spine, but this time it was a comforting sensation. I felt protected, sheltered from the horrors we'd faced. The sirens and chaos surrounding us faded into the background as I buried my face in his chest, letting the steady beat of his heart calm my own racing pulse. We stood there for what felt like an eternity, the only sound being our ragged breathing. Aaron's hands cradled my face, his thumbs wiping away my tears as he searched my eyes for any sign of hurt. I knew he was looking for more than physical wounds; he was searching for the emotional scars that Michael had inflicted. I tri

Hanna’s POVMy heart raced in my chest as I felt the weight of the knife in my hand. The cold steel was both a comfort and a curse. I had finally found a way to fight back, but I wasn’t sure how far I was willing to go to protect myself. Michael’s eyes widened in shock as he took a step back, his hand pressed against the wound. “Are you insane?” he hissed, a mix of disbelief and anger in his voice. The blood seeped through his fingers, staining the fabric of his shirt. “Let me go, Michael,” I said, my voice steady despite the chaos swirling inside me. “This is over.”He took another cautious step back, assessing the situation, but I could see the anger boiling in his eyes. “You think you can just stab me and walk out of here?” he spat, a cruel smile creeping across his face. “You don’t understand who you’re dealing with.”“I understand perfectly,” I shot back, my grip tightening on the knife. “I know you’re a coward who thinks he can control everything with fear. But not anymore.”M

Hanna’s POV“Are you done?” Micheal askedMy eyes were on the keys he had hooked to his belt buckle, the keys to the door.I nodded and pushed the plate of half-eaten steak towards him.I held my breath and watched his face for a reaction as he picked up the plate and left the room nothing. He hadn’t noticed anything, great. I slid the knife out ofmy pocket and held the sharp edge to the wires binding my arms. It was extremely uncomfortable having to hold the handle with my fingertips while trying to cut through the wires.Fortunately, it was slowly making a dent, but it was torture seeing how slow it was. I was starting to lose hope in using the knife when I heard footsteps approaching, and I hurriedly slid the knife underneath my buttocks and sat on it. Michael returned back, this time with my phone to his ear. He was talking to someone, and there was a satisfied grin on his face. Had Faith managed to get him what he wanted? I felt bad for her; she was dragged into all this simply
