A sudden large influx of mystical energy got drawn into BaiXue's body. The distirbance in the air was so great that it put out the fire surrounding her and the tiger. She started to grow bigger and bigger, until she was half the size of a tree. Her snow white fur turned into a dark maroon red. The fur at the end of her ears grew longer and became fluffy tufts, while her tail grew longer with the fluff remaining at its end. A sparkly dark purple aura surrounded her.
The tiger froze in his spot in fear and trepidation. His eyes were wide and jaw dropped open.
"It's time to send my long overdue gift to brother."
Her cold words shocked the tiger back to his senses and he went scrambling for his life.
BaiXue felt renewed. Her body teemed with strength and power.
She swung her tail around her to deal with the 5 lackeys who were attempting to flee in different directions. The moment her tail made contact with their body, their bodies broke and bent along with the impact. It was an instant kill.
Now she could dedicate her full attention to the tiger. One kick off the ground was all it took to catch up to him in less than a second. She bit down on his now scrawny looking body and tossed him like a rag doll upwards into the sky. She jumped up and kicked him hard to send him higher up into the sky while controlling herself to land back down onto the ground. Then she leapt up again, going among the clouds and above the tiger's body to kick his body back down at full strength.
The tiger experienced jarring pain that kept knocking him out and bringing him back to consciousness. His body was entirely out of control and broken all over. He eventually died without even knowing how he died. Horror and regret was all that had filled his mind till his death.
His body became a mere large splat of blood on the ground, in a small crater. There were bits of organs, scattered bones, and torn tiger skin. BaiXue landed back on the ground by the crater with no issue. Then, she stared at the bloody mess around her with a still calmness.
"Sorry... And thank you... Thank you..." BaiXue heard a clear whisper in the wind that blew through the forest. BaiXue closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
Suddenly, she felt something that made her hair stand and skin crawl.
She opened her eyes to coldly look at LongFei, who was gently and carefully nuzzling his dragon face against her badly wounded side.
"Stop that."
LongFei immediately did as she said. However, he looked at her with pitiful puppy dog eyes. He kept looking to and fro her eyes and her wounds.
"I'm fine. It's your turn to do your job now." BaiXue assured him.
"When I'm done, I'll have your wounds treated whether you like it or not." LongFei grumpily declared, before he took off into the sky to quickly get his job done.
He hovered high above the area and swished his tail powerfully a few times. This generated strong winds that all the trees in the vicinity bent to the extent of looking like it would snap at any time. BaiXue squinted her eyes but had no trouble holding herself down in her mystical form. Her claws dug into the ground to keep herself steady.
The entire scene before their eyes began bending and shaking in a tremor, like it was glass on the verge of breaking. He swung his tail once more and everything broke into brown sparkles.
What greeted them was the most prosperous village that the both of them had ever seen. There were rows and rows of big and comfortable houses. There were restaurants and shops. The villagers were living a very comfortable and luxurious life.
BaiXue's face scrunched in disgust. These people truly had no shame. They acted so high and mighty when they were living off other villages. LongFei made quick work and burnt everything down to cinders and ashes. When he was done and BaiXue was satisfied with his work, she changed into her human form to get onto LongFei's back.
It was past midnight by the time they reached the front of LongFei's house.
Once BaiXue came off LongFei's back, he changed into his human form and stepped towards her with his arms positioned to carry her. However, he was met with a palm in his face, causing him to freeze in his motion.
"I can walk perfectly fine by myself."
LongFei stood there for awhile before he said, "Go to the room then. I'll set up the bath for you to wash up. Walk slowly and be careful." He scooted to the kitchen to heat some water up for her bath, then got busy with crushing some herbs to make a healing salve.
BaiXue raised her eyebrow. /Like I'm some old crone who'd trip and die or something./
She headed for the room that had long been considered hers, and rested against the head of the bed with her eyes closed. After about half an hour, she woke up from her light sleep, upon hearing LongFei enter the room.
"The bath is ready."
LongFei followed closely behind her to the bathroom that was near the kitchen. There was a large wooden bath tub big enough to fit two people at once. It was now filled with water that has some steam rising from it. Different kinds of leaves floated on the sruface of the water. BaiXue recognised those leaves. The plants of this world were not that much different from the herbs of the first world, except there were more mystical ones in existence like the cure-all plant that LongFei fed her last time. The ones now has a cooling and pain relieving effect when one bathes in it.
/How thoughtful./
She brought her hands to her belt to untie her outer robe. However, she realised that LongFei was still looking at her through the open door. She glanced back at him and asked, "Still not leaving?"
LongFei looked silently at her then drifted his eyes down to her back. He walked slowly towards her then gently placed his hand against the bloody area that stretched across her entire side and ending at the middle of her back. He clearly remembered the look of the gashes when she was in her rabbit form, so he could easily picture it beyond his palm now. His keen eyesight caught how the blood was still very slowly spreading across her still intact clothes. This meant that either her wound had reopened or that it had never stopped bleeding.
"Do you need help?" His voice came out almost as a whisper.
"I'm fine. It's not painful."
LongFei frowned. /How can it not be painful?/
"I mean it's tolerable. So, leave."
He eased up, nodded, then closed the wooden sliding door on his way out.
BaiXue undressed, briefly washed herself, then soaked in the bathtub. The wounds were initially stinging pain but the herbs slowly did their work and relieved the pain. BaiXue sighed. It was really quite a relaxing bath.
[Erm... I hate to spoil this moment for you but, BaiXue, LongFei will probably insist on helping you apply the salve.] BaoBao was unsure if there was any value behind warning BaiXue who had seemed so nonchalant about having her body exposed to him, but after being told off for being negligent, he did not want to make the same mistake anymore. He decided to pre-empt her even if she would be fine with it.
/I'll just tell him that I'll do it myself./
[He saw how the wound on your torso starts from your side and ends at the back. Not only are there two serious wounds, there are various other smaller grazes and cuts all over too. He'd likely insist to help you.]
/What makes you so sure that my rejection will not work?/
[Probability. Based on information of his behaviour in this world and your success of rejecting him so far.] BaoBao replied instantly.
/... Understood. Your data calculation is really useful at times./ BaiXue felt that BaoBao deserved some credit. Now she could think of a way to manage this situation instead of needing to react on the spot. /Thanks, BaoBao./
BaoBao's mood finally lifted a little. He made the right decision after all.
BaiXue thought for awhile and came up with an idea. She would just let him help her while she stayed in her rabbit form. After staying inside for a while longer, she exited the bath and dried herself.
LongFei was just done with the salve and turned around to see her coming out through the back door. "What're you doing here?"
[And here I thought he was starting to talk a little nicer.] BaoBao lamented. He really could not get used to LongFei's manner of speaking.
BaiXue looked at the white jade bowl in his hand and knew that the salve was ready. "I'll cultivate while you help me put the salve on my wounds."
LongFei frowned. "No. To the bed."
"Cultivating is a way to rest too. I don't need to be in the room to rest." BaiXue ignored him afterwards and changed into her rabbit form.
What surprised the both of them was that she was instantly in her mystical form. They had thought that it was some temporary lucky transformation during the battle. LongFei's thinking was because he had not seen such a form before. BaiXue's thinking was because she had thought that it was an unstable change, since it was not achieved through proper cultivation.
She looked back at her rear. Her hind had ruined the doorway and wall of the entrance to the small sitting room. "Sorry." BaiXue said a little awkwardly.
"It's nothing to worry about. You were right to not be in the room."
BaiXue moved forward to the centre of the backyard and sat on her rear. She looked down at herself and saw her maroon red fur. She raised a paw to pull down her long ears to inspect it as well. /I'm really red all over./
What she did not realise was how cute her actions appeared to others. LongFei, who saw it all from the start, felt a slight squeeze in his heart and a sudden urge to change into dragon, so that he could curl around her and cuddle her. He resisted the urge that he could not yet understand and gripped the bowl tighter in his hands.
When he saw that she was done inspecting herself, he informed her. "I wouldn't have enough herbs to make enough salve to cover your wounds in that size."
BaiXue knew that. She changed back into her human form. Since there was no way for her to act decent, she did not bother any longer. She truly did not think much about her appearance or sex appeal since she did not believe that anyone would be interested in a mere side character.
"I'll call you when I need help for my back." BaiXue took the bowl from his hands, took the bandages that were on the table in the sitting room, and headed into the bedroom. She got undressed again and started applying the salve and bandaging her arms and legs. She was now left with her back.
[He's sitting by the door.] BaoBao proactively informed her.
"LongFei." BaiXue called, without needing to raise her voice.
LongFei appeared at the doorway within the next second. He was met with a view of her sitting on the bed and holding the bright red thick blanket against her chest, with her fair slender bare back facing him.It was a very inviting scene. A random stray image of having his lips against her soft back popped into his mind. Wham! BaiXue jumped at the sudden sound and turned her head to look quizzically at LongFei. "A spider." LongFei said as he dusted the slight dent he created on the door frame. /Could he be scared of spiders? Look at that dent in the frame./ BaiXue talked to BaoBao. BaiXue did not yet notice the slightly red patch on LongFei's forehead. [Yes, that was quite a weird and violent reaction for a small spider.] He had witnessed how LongFei headbutted the wall. LongFei coughed lightly then walked in calmly like nothing happened. /Why am I having such thoughts about her.../ LongFei chide
It was slightly past noon when LongFei returned. He hovered above BaiXue frowning. "Why are you here?" BaiXue ignored him to stay focused on her cultivation. She could feel that it still had the same effect of increasing her power. Perhaps this was what unsettled LongFei's ancestor, even though he already had the crown. LongFei sighed. "You better rest up for a fierce fight. That nine tailed fox is no challenge for me but it is different for you." BaiXue opened her eyes in surprise. "How did you know that she was a nine tailed fox?" "Nine tailed foxes specialise in magic instead of combat. I made a guess when I saw the standard of magic she had cast over an entire village." "How do you know? I don't see any records detailing such useful information." "They're all passed down knowledge." "You've been talking about knowledge passed down through generations. But aren't mystical beings born by chance and rare?" "That's only
FenFang finally frowned and changed into her nine-tailed fox form, anticipating a fight. In her fit of anger and anxiety, she momentarily forgot about the restriction MengYao placed on her. Black chains appeared all over her body. One end led to a collar around her neck. The other ends all seemed to disappear into the ground below FenFang, restricting her movements. She felt utterly humiliated to be seen in such a state but was not willing to back off without a fight. Just as BaiXue lifted a hand towards FenFang, LongFei entered through the front door in his human form. A black cage appeared out of nowhere above him and dropped down. He frowned in annoyance but reacted fast. He overbearingly swung his hand above him like he was simply swatting a fly away and the cage flew to the side easily. This thoroughly shocked FenFang who still had no idea who this intruder was. On the other hand, BaiXue's lips twitched at his show of power that she would never have, whi
LongFei could easily sense MengYao's bloodlust directed at BaiXue. It made his heart thump wildly and uncontrollably in urgency. However, he could not seem to break out of the obsessive thoughts about FengJiao in his mind that held him there. His face scrunched up in annoyance and agony. His mind compelled him to fly back to tend to FengJiao and give her the cure-all antidote. His heart warned him that there was something else far more important than FengJiao that he had to attend to right now. All of a sudden, the softest yet most significant cry of pain in his life reached his ears, and struck a chord within him. It snapped him back to the present and he looked towards the source of it. The sight of a maroon rabbit all curled up into a ball and shivering uncontrollably with a black phoenix nearing dangerously close to her made him see red and lose his mind in a panic. He flew at the fastest speed he could go and the sound was like cutting through wind itself.
The impact of BaiXue's jump created yet another crater in the ground. LongFei kept up with her movement to keep himself between MengYao and BaiXue, and he fired the largest fire he could manage. BaiXue had already made her body as streamlined as possible, so that she would go faster. However, MengYao and LongFei were still faster. In that short distance she covered between her position to FenFang's writhing body, they had exchanged enough blows to cover the forest in black and blue flames. A sudden burst of speed boosted MengYao and he finally appeared by BaiXue's side just as she spun in mid-air to land on her hind legs. LongFei spat out even stronger flames to force MengYao to take a detour, then speedily positioned himself between MengYao and BaiXue once again. LongFei swung his tail and the strong gale threw MengYao back into the trees. This time MengYao was driven deeper into the ground as compared to before. SPLAT! The sound of a body being squash
Luna opened her eyes and found herself back in the same dark black space. "Luna?" "..." "Luna? Are you okay?" BaoBao was worried that being impaled reminded her of the way she died in the second world. "Mm." Luna did not feel like talking and simply floated in space with a spaced out look. "Luna? You can sleep like the last time if you need to." BaoBao remembered that she did not have much rest in the night before the final showdown with FenFang. Luna finally noticed BaoBao's worries so she reassured him, "I'm fine BaoBao. That death was nothing compared to the second world's. Also, it was more torturous fighting the fake LongFei. This death is really not too bad." "Then... What's wrong?" BaoBao looked at her with worried eyes and gently touched her forearm. Luna blinked her eyes in surprise. Although she was not thinking about anything in particular and had told him that she was fine, BaoBao was now a
Luna opened her eyes to find herself in complete darkness. If not for the intense ravenous hunger she was feeling, she would have thought that she was still in the same space from before. This hunger, unlike the previous world's, drove her crazy. She clenched her jaw and fists hard. It took up all the self control she had to prevent herself from going berserk and going on a rampage. What made matters worse was that she smelt a tantalizing meal nearby. Feeling it odd, she wanted to know what she was dealing with first before she did anything. /BaoBao!/ BaoBao immediately knew that she was ready to receive the information and so stimulated the memories of this body. The original soul of this body was a human named Vanora. An only child born to a poor but happy couple. Her parents did all they could to provide her the best but that did not mean they spoilt her. She had to earn it by helping out with the household and work. Her father was a
While Luna processed the memories, the golden specks in her eyes started to glow, making her irises look golden instead of grey. Her round pupils turned into sharp slits. Her breathing became irregular. [Lu- Luna?] BaoBao called out worriedly. However, he did not get a reply. [Luna!] Just as he yelled out her name again, he heard Luna's thoughts and saw the flashback she experienced. It was the eve of a new year. She was only 12 years old then. Just as they did so every year, her family was gathered in her father's study where her parents would review their results for the whole year. Luna knew without needing to be told that she was the only one who made no improvements in any aspect of herself whatsoever. Like she anticipated, her siblings were commended for doing well even in areas that were not their talents. Although her parents also commended Luna for being the most earnest, sincere
RenRan began napping. A lot. Souls did not need sleep, but they could choose to do so. FanHai was one of those who seemed to never catch a wink of sleep. While RenRan slept, he stayed by her side, always keeping himself busy with something. This carried on for a good time before she began to catch him with his guard lowered after waking up. ‘A while more.’ RenRan did not believe that a man like him could keep himself entertained this long and resist a cat nap with her. At this point, BaoBao cried out in frustration. There were a few times she could have slipped away because he had already fallen asleep with her! He even dared to cuddle with her. That spot was only reserved for two people! Him and the familiar soul! “Is it really too much to assist by waking her up?” He challenged the elder one. “Is it so hard for her to stay awake in a world that doesn’t need sleep?” He challenged BaoBao back. “...That’s easy for you to say.” Then, BaoBao puffed his cheeks and returned to gl
RenRan’s eyes opened wide. No matter how hard she pushed against him or how much she pounded his chest, shoulders, or head, he persisted on. She tried to bite him, but he avoided using his tongue and skillfully moved his mouth in tandem with her attempts. With his hand cupping the back of her head, she could not break the kiss either. She was at his complete mercy. ‘I should have dropped the act earlier. This isn’t worth it!’ Fear slowly gripped her heart as she wondered how far he would take it. Then, he stopped, just as suddenly as he started. “Enough?” He grinned and meaningfully applied greater pressure on her lower back. His move made RenRan conscious of the rock hard member against her abdomen. Immediately recognising what it was, she fiercely pushed against his chest and demanded, “Okay, let me go! I’ll properly spend some time with you first!” He smiled with satisfaction. “Like I thought.” Then, he let her go. “You wouldn’t have to waste so much time and energy if you jus
RenRan’s heart jumped but she poised herself promptly, ready to grapple with whoever had manhandled her. “Why’d you run away from me? Didn't we have deal?” The somewhat familiar deep voice cleared up the situation. “I’m not running from you.” RenRan explained as she attempted to pull her arm out of his strong grip. “You know you can’t lie with this within us.” He pointed at his chest and kept on his tight smile. “You got to try harder than that to convince me.” RenRan frowned. “And I was precisely following that to find you, as agreed.” His smile gradually disappeared as his gaze dropped to study her entire body. “…You’re weaker than the last time I saw you.” RenRan had nothing to say in response. Instead, she attempted to twist her arm free again. “Even so, I’ve never heard of a compass malfunctioning because of this before.” Annoyed with his accusations, RenRan tuned in
RenRan headed for a condensed group of swirling sparkles that was just a little larger than her. ‘So, my mission is to achieve my dream no matter the cost. What’s my dream? To find YingTao? No, I’ll definitely find him. It’s just a matter of time. Then, I’ll find out that YingTao doesn’t want me anymore. And I’ll want him back...’ RenRan thought of everything that had happened in RenRan’s life. ‘I can only hope that her dream’s that simple...’ She began to think of all her misdemeanors, then ways to right her wrongs. [I should stop you right there. If it wasn’t clear enough before, as long as you’re in the story scenes, you’re supposed to do and say all the things the original character did.] ‘What? You didn’t say that earlier.’ [I mentioned earlier that it's risky to provoke this world’s consciousness into doing anything. So, we can only observe this world. What do you think this mea
Luna was right. She had inhabited Luo RenRan’s body. RenRan’s family belonged to the working class, but her gripe was not their standard of living, it was her parents’ favourtism for her brothers. She was the only girl, and she was the oldest. Anything her brothers did, she was responsible for. Any wrong they committed, they were let off with a more lenient punishment, while she was supposed to forgive and forget. Their expectations for her and the restrictions they imposed on her could not be compared to the standards they held her brothers against. The only solace she had was that her siblings never directly crossed her line, even when she was old enough to start working. If only it stayed that way forever. “RenRan... Forgive your brother, okay? You know he only took it because he needed it and only you can help him. If you have someone you need to blame, blame your father.” A gentle motherly voice coaxed her. “If your father helped, none of us would be
“Wh- What am I doing here?” BaoBao looked around in shock. He recognised this place. The last time he was here, it was to defend Luna. “Why am I back here?”The elder one sighed. “Why did you do it?”“D- Do what?”Gasps were heard around him.“It lies.”“It truly deceives.”“Surely, that’s bad.”“This can’t go on.”“It’s always this one system.”“Clearly there’s something wrong with it.”All the administration looked at the elder one, waiting for the go ahead. The elder one looked at BaoBao so intensely as if BaoBao was a specimen under his microscope. BaoBao gulped. He felt exposed. What was with this elder one? Whatever the case, Luna had already been sent to the next world. He could not dilly dall
“Don’t ignore me! I know you’re awake!” Someone pushed Luna’s shoulder hard. Her eyes flew open, and a purple and black galaxy unfolded before her. Her bottom left whatever she had been sitting on, but she did not fall. There was a resistance that made her body glide instead. Luna blinked a few times, stunned. "I dare you to say it again.” The same voice challenged her. Luna turned towards the source. There it was again. The sensation when she moved was familiar. However, she had no time to make sense of it. The deep voice belonged to a burly woman, instead of a man like Luna had assumed, not that it made anything better. Her guest looked as friendly as a starving lioness. Luna straightened her neat celestial-like robes while she quickly collected her thoughts. It shimmered and shone brighter than the glow emanating from her body. The fabric was so silky to touch that it was like water. Although it was transluc
“LUNA!” BaoBao jumped onto her. Luna grunted from the impact. It reminded her of how much he had grown from the first time she met him. ‘How is he so weightless but so heavy at the same time?’ “Hi BaoBao,” she laughed lightly, “Is this your new way of sending me to the next world?” “Huh?! No, no! It’s far too soon to be sending you to the next world, isn’t it?!” Luna laughed even more. “I was just teasing.” BaoBao blinked innocently. “Oh.” Luna looked at him endearingly. “You’re still so much like a kid.” She rubbed the top of his head lovingly. “Don’t systems live for eternity, if nothing goes wrong?” “Mmhm, what about it?” “It still felt that long to you?” “YES!” BaoBao confirmed without a second thought. Luna laughed. “Let’s spend some time together before heading to the next world.” BaoBao’s heart warmed and h
Nozomi closed her eyes and thought hard about his request. It did not feel right or good to take his years, but she had no right to dictate how he should live his life.‘Since he’s really fine with it...’Nozomi pushed her hands forward to cup his cheeks. “Okay...”Hikaru’s eyes brightened up. He promptly retrieved his book and readied himself. Nozomi watched Hikaru activate his magic with interest. The way his book’s ribbon splits and transforms into a robe and staff never got old. “Thank you, for going along with my wishes.” His heartfelt gratitude was reflected in his eyes as well. Nozomi smiled in understanding and squeezed his hands that were once again holding onto hers. Hikaru closed his eyes and focused on her presence, then said the incantation that he had memorised by then.Green glowing vine marks appeared
