Nagos ran training, trying to keep up with leanunya. It always amazed him at how fast she could run and have so much agility at the same time. He had already been training under her for over two years. The training was harsh most of the time and many times he had almost died. He managed to survive though and now he was almost ready to go home again. He could barely wait to see his father again. He was overly excited to see his father after two years. He had already grown at least a foot in height if not more though he wasn’t positive on that.

He ran barely keeping up with Leanunya who was in front of him. Nagos was panting as he ran after her. He had learned to hunt and read a situation he was in since he had started training. He could now tell when to run or fight after a few minutes. He had also become good at spotting openings in his target. Leanunya had taught him to always go for the kill

Wolferan sighed reading a report he had gotten. He had reread the paper at least ten times already. He was really disappointed. He had no news of the silver-eyed demon and only kept getting reports of rumors that always turned out to be false. This was frustrating him to no end. It had been two whole years since he had any real news of her. There had been a few times when he had reports of a mysterious woman in a few towns near where he lost the silver-eyed demon last, but it was always brief. The reports said a mysterious cattrina came into town with a boy and bought clothes and left. There was no definitive proof it was the silver-eyed demon as none of his informants got a good look at the woman and boy. He didn’t believe those reports to be the silver-eyed demon but he had a nagging feeling towards those reports and remembered them. He didn’t know why they bothered him but they did. He

Leanunya sat up and stretched, having woken at dawn. She looked over to the still sleeping Nagos and stood. She called out “Nagos get up. Let’s get going” Leanunya then started to get her stuff gathered to go including gathering the meat slices from the zarowl Nagos had killed the night before. Once she finished putting the meat in a bag she went to the still sleeping Nagos. She scowled and unceremoniously kicked him off and out of the bed this time for sure waking him. She always did this if he didn’t wake the first time she called him to get up. She looked at him coldly as he sat up on the floor, a pouty look on his face. This look only made her even more irritated. She had discovered while training him what a disappointment he really was.Nagos had hesitated his first kill and then continued to disappoint her. Leanunya yawned, waking. They had been traveling for at least two weeks and should be arriving in Rynion tomorrow morning or by tonight. They had fairly nice weather as they had traveled. Although today was cloudy and looked like it was going to rain. If it rained they wouldn’t reach Rynion until tomorrow morning or even later. If it didn’t rain they would make it in this evening but she was unsure if she wanted that. Although the rain really couldn’t slow them down she disliked walking in the rain but would do so if necessary. She stood up and stretched out telling Nagos to get up. Leanunya gathered her stuffed and ate some jerky after she finished waiting for Nagos to finish getting his stuff gathered. This was another thing she disliked about Nagos. He was very messy. She knew he was still a child but he would take everything out of his bag just to grab his blanket to sleep. She

Leanunya talked with Drake til dawn, the rain having not stopped until well into the night long after Nagos and those others had fallen asleep. She knew she wouldn’t have slept anyway so she had stayed up with Drake. They had talked about many things but at the same time nothing. They both knew more than either chose to speak about or wanted to. They had spoken of nothing that could give away who they truly were or what they did as a living. They had talked about simple things. Fighting styles and journeys but never about the deaths or the tolls. They talked and began to know each other without truly knowing each other. Although, knowing one day they would meet again either as friends or enemies after they parted. They had long finished off the bottle of whiskey they had shared but they didn’t mind as they talked through the night just like two old pals would do.

Wolferan looked at the newest report and smiled. He finally had news about the silver eyed demon and it was a confirmed report. He stood his eyes like two Golden torches. He ordered a bag of supplies to be made as he went outside to wait. He started to pace once outside, being too impatient to wait much longer. Finally after a long while a servant brought him a bag of supplies. Wolferan grabbed the bag and with an impatient leap he flapped his black wings taking to the sky. He climbed high up into the sky heading for Rynion. He found it odd that he would get a report of the silver-eyed demon from the same city he had last seen her in. Although he was curious about this he was more concerned about catching her.He had to admit he was obsessed with

Leanunya walked along a dirt packed road headed for the capital city. She knew she was close and subconsciously picked up pace. She wanted to arrive before dark, if not sooner. She walked swiftly, soon arriving before the city gates. They were huge and dominaniring steel gates unlike the wooden city gates other cities had. After she paid the entrance fee she walked through the gates. The gates were several feet thick built for resisting against sieges. There were also several notches in the walls for archers. The capital city was built to be easy to defend but hard to attack. That also included the fact it was built on the edge of a cliff on the far end of the city. She looked around as she walked into the city going through the thick crowds of people. The place was packed with people and stores tr

She lashed her tail even as Wolferan neared her, his eyes on her and her dagger. She backed up as he approached. He had no weapons but considering his sharp claws on his hands he really didn’t need one. Neither did she but chose to use one. Leanunya also knew he had enough strength alone to be dangerous even without his claws. This was just her instinct telling her but she trusted her instincts.Leanunya backed up til she bumped into a wall and Wolferan attacked at that moment. She dropped to the side and lashed out with her dagger at his thigh. The dagger tore his pants but glanced off his dragon scales.Leanunya cursed and scrambled away just barely avoiding his attempt to grab her. She grit her teeth from the pain of her own movement but continued to move to get out of his grasp. She panted facing him once a distance away from him.

Leanunya noticed the lady who stood next to her and after a few moments looked up at her. She recognized her from one of the staff in the kitchen and flicked her tail irritably. She paused wondering why she was here and asked.“Do you need something?” Jessie spoke, “yes, my name is Jessie the head chef in the kitchen. I was hoping to get your likes and dislikes on food so we can better cook for you.” Leanunya blinked, “Why?”Jessie smiled softly, “we want to be able to better accommodate you while you are staying here. If we know what foods you like and dislike we can better prepare foods to your liking.”Leanunya nodded softly. She looked down in thought wondering how to answer. She didn’t really dislike any kind of food. She had some foods she liked

Leanunya looked out the window and saw Wolferan leave and huffed softly, swishing her tail thinking; ‘good riddance’. She turned away from the window in her room and looked to her bed and the soft blankets on it. A servant had brought her several last night and slept with them. She really liked soft things but didn’t think Wolferan would have found out but with what the servant said last night he had found out. Although this wasn’t too bad she still didn’t like the fact he knew. She didn’t like him, period. He was always stepping on her tail and there was only so much patience she had with that. If not for the fact he was stronger than her she would have already made a move to hurt him. This was also the r

Wolferan sighed thinking on the matter a while more before giving up until he talked to the witness. Since it was just past noon he figured he would wait until tomorrow to leave. It would also give his servants some time to get everything ready for him and to be prepared to deal with leanunya alone. He looked around the room and noticed a servant walk over telling him lunch was ready. He nodded and stood going to put the reports on Leanunya up in his study. He put the reports up before going to the dining room.He entered the dining room and sat at the head of the table where he normally sat. He looked at the food prepared and nodded softly. The kitchen had made some lamb chops with some green beans and potatoes. It not only smelled good it also looked good and made his stomachs grumble in anticipa

Leanunya sat at the table with Wolferan to eat lunch. It was simple but good. It was mainly some sliced meat, bread and cheeses with some olives to eat but was quite filling. She soon ate her fill and excused herself from the table before walking off still holding the book she had been reading in the library. She walked around and found a couch to sit down on to continue reading the book she had in her hands. She sat down on the brown couch positioning herself so her wings wouldn’t get crushed behind her and cause her pain. She then noticed a throw blanket on the back of the couch. She flicked her tail before reaching out and touched it. It was soft under her touch and slightly smiled before pulling it down into her lap relaxing a bit.She glanced around and not seeing anyone smiled snuggling into the soft blanket face first like a little kid. she r

Wolferan sighed silently looking at Leanunya who had refused to talk since that disaster during yesterday's lunch. He had managed to gain some of her trust and got her to talk fairly freely but now she wouldn’t even reply to him. He had no idea how to salvage this. He had pushed too far in his questioning and instead of answers he got nothing but silence. He had tried several ways to get her to talk but to no avail. He had seemed to cross a line of hers but what that line was he had no clue. This left him stewing in his own frustration and confusion. He sighed and figured he could only wait for her to talk to him. Perhaps he could get her to talk again by letting her ask him questions? He didn’t know though as she seemed determined to stay silent. He had let her rest an hour after that disaster before he carried her continuing to fly on their

Why didn't you let me help?’ Wolferan looked at her, “you are injured. Now, I am curious why you wanted to help them?” She spoke, “They needed help, there was only an old man and two women like they could get out of the mud.”Wolferan took the bag off his back moving to the side of the road while asking, “Tell me again why you wanted to help them. Leanunya woke to a light drizzle in the morning. She had actually slept the whole night through. She was both daunted by this and excited, she had never slept a whole night through ever since she first went to the forbidden forest. She was feeling well rested. She rarely felt well rested anymore and was glad as she had needed the sleep.Although she was glad for the rest she disliked waking to rain. It made her already aching broken ribs and wing ache even more, putting her in a foul mood despite her good rest. She stood up and went underneath a nearby tree to get out of the rain. She then looked to wolferan who was still by the now just smoking fire pit digging in his bag.She looked at him and then looked up at the cloud darkened sky. Although she liked the smell and sounds of rain she rather liked them when she wasn't wet. It seemed like Wolferan wasn'
