I took a deep breath to calm myself as I’m still holding my patience. I know she was drunk so it was really non sense to argue with her and confront her.

“Let’s go inside, Athena. You don’t know what you are talking about,” I said, calmly.

“I know it, I know it!” the last words she said before she suddenly close her eyes and slept.

I took a deep breath and brought Athena to our bedroom. I couldn’t help but stare at her from head to toe. Athena is really beautiful and sexy but I don’t feel any special feeling while I’m looking at her. I know to myself that I don’t love her. All I’m thinking right now is our divorce. I want a divorce with her.

I gently placed her on the bed. I watched as her chest rose and fell with each breath. The sight of her sleeping made me feel nothing, not even pity. It was just a realization that I had been living a lie for the last five years.

I stormed out of the room and walked downstairs. There, I saw my in-laws watching TV, their faces illuminated by the fl

I told Harvey about the growing chasm between Athena and me. It started small, little annoyances that I ignored, brushed off. But it had festered, growing into a gaping wound. I couldn’t stand her attitude anymore. The way she spent billions of my money, our company’s money, on her own luxury. The mockery and insults I endured from her parents. I was tired, drained. Especially now, facing the looming crisis in my company.Harvey listened patiently, his face etched with concern.“Her parents,” I said, my voice cracking with suppressed rage, “they’re unbearable. They treat me like I’m some kind of… some kind of… a nobody.”“What do you mean?” Harvey asked, his eyes narrowed.“They belittle me, constantly,” I said, the words spilling out in a torrent.“They said they regret their choice for choosing me as Athena’s husband. They told me I can’t provide Athena a good life despite the fact that Athena wasted my billions of money!”Harvey's brow furrowed. "That's absurd. You built your own c

Before I could answer, a small voice piped up from behind her. “Uncle Franco!”Connor ran towards me, his arms outstretched. I scooped him up, his laughter filling the air. He was a whirlwind of energy, bouncing around in my arms, his eyes shining with excitement.“Connor, my boy.” I chuckled, burying my face in his soft, curly hair.My gaze drifted to Celine who stood in the living room, her eyes fixed on us. She was a vision in a simple, cream-colored dress, her hair cascading down her shoulders. My heart melted at her stare, the warmth in her eyes sending a jolt of electricity through me.“Celine,” I greeted, my voice a little shaky. I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks, the sudden surge of emotions making me feel vulnerable.“Franco,” she returned, a faint smile gracing her lips. For a moment, our eyes locked, unspoken questions and emotions swirling in the air between us. I desperately wanted to ask about the date, to see the flicker of something in her eyes, but the words wou

Around 10 pm in the evening, Celine still hasn't come home yet and I'm still here in her mansion, watching over her son, Connor, who is my friend. Many thoughts are running through my mind. I can't help but imagine how Harvey and Celine are exchanging their smiles during their dinner date. I wonder what they are talking about, despite Celine telling me that it was just a business meeting.I feel a pang of jealousy, even though I know that I'm just her stupid ex-husband who mistreated her before. I accused her of being a gold digger, and now my life has become miserable since I chose to marry Athena. Athena is the true gold digger, and not Celine. But all I can do now is watch over Connor, who is sleeping peacefully in his bed."Celine, please come home. I'm waiting for you," I say to myself, looking out of the window, hoping to see her car pulling up in the driveway.I remember the good old days when Celine and I were still together. She was so in love, and I took her for granted. I w

It's a constant battle, this internal conflict. One part of me wants to scream, to let her know how much I regret my actions, how much I still yearn for her. The other part, the part that's been beaten down by guilt and self-loathing, whispers that I deserve this, that I've lost her forever. The sharp sting of guilt that I've been carrying for months intensifies. It's like a heavy chain wrapped around my chest, constricting my breath with every beat of my heart. I can't escape it, no matter how hard I try.Just as I'm about to succumb to the wave of despair, I hear Celine's footsteps coming up the stairs. My heart skips a beat. I have to disappear, to avoid any chance of an encounter. I can't handle it. Not now.I immediately go to Connor's room. He sleeps soundly, his face serene, oblivious to the storm raging within me. I watch him, his soft breaths a gentle reminder of the innocence he still possesses, a stark contrast to the turmoil that consumes my soul.Celine enters her room, a

CELINE’S POVWhen I arrived at the restaurant, I saw Mr. Ruiz from the distance, wearing a dark blue suit with a big smile on his face. It was almost like he was expecting me. He was a handsome man, undeniably so. His smile was charming, his eyes were bright, and he had this way about him that drew you in. But I was here for business. I’d accepted his invitation to have a business meeting with him about his plan to invest in my other clothing line business besides my company’s product, CLN Beauty. As I approached him, he stood up, his smile widening, and held out his hand. “Ms. Winston, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you.”I smiled politely and shook his hand. “It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Mr. Ruiz.” I found myself instantly drawn to his warmth and energy. He was a charismatic man, and I could see why he was so successful. We settled into our table, and he immediately launched into his proposal. He spoke with passion and excitement about his vision

I was surprised at what he said to me and turned around to look at him. “You can have your revenge on Franco,” he said, his voice tempting. “You can make him pay for what he did to you.”His words stirred something within me, a desire for retribution that I had long suppressed. I had always believed that karma would eventually catch up to Franco, but the thought of actively seeking revenge was both exhilarating and terrifying.“How?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.“By giving me a chance to pursue a romantic connection with you,” he said, his eyes holding mine. “I know that Franco still has feelings for you. If I were to start dating you, it would drive him crazy. It would be the perfect revenge.”“How do you know him? “I asked, curiously.“He is my friend since we have our deals in Casino.” He replied.“What a small world,”I said to myself.“So will you accept my offer, Ms. Winston? You know I really like you,” Mr. Ruiz said, smiling.I was stunned by his proposal. The tho

Around 4 am, I woke up to find Mr. Ruiz on the sofa bed. I quickly roused him from his slumber to prevent Connor from catching us. I knew it wasn't right for my son to witness my reckless actions. "Time to wake up, Mr. Ruiz!" I nudged him awake. He blinked in confusion, rubbing his neck as he tried to piece together the events of the previous night. "You drugged my drink, didn't you?" he accused, furrowing his brow.Taking a deep breath, I held his hand and apologized for my behavior. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ruiz. I was feeling so low and thought doing something crazy would make me feel better," I confessed softly.Mr. Ruiz gazed at me with disappointment in his eyes. It was indeed foolish to lure a man into my room under false pretenses, all to prove a point to my ex-husband. "So, you don't really care about me? It was all a lie?" he questioned."No, I do care about you. I just wasn't ready," I admitted.Mr. Ruiz smiled gently and reached for my hand, his expression serious. "Ms. Winsto

FRANCO POVI couldn't answer her questions. My mouth hung open, my brain struggling to process the words she had just uttered. Celine, the woman I had loved and cherished for years, had spent the night with another man. And not just any man, but my friend, Harvey. The pain that shot through me was like a physical blow. I felt the blood drain from my face as I staggered backward, my body trembling with disbelief and anger.“Get out of my sight!” Celine screamed.I didn't need to be told twice. I turned and fled, the sound of her voice echoing in my ears, a cruel reminder of the betrayal I had just witnessed. The drive to the office was a blur. I barely registered the familiar streets, the morning traffic, the red lights that forced me to brake. My mind was consumed by the image of Celine and Harvey, their bodies intertwined, their laughter echoing in the silence of my mind.I slammed the car door shut, the sound reverberating against the glass wall of the building.“Mr. Jackson,” my se
