Chapter 13
Selena's POVThe moment our lips crashed, I knew I was a goner. This was one of those instances where it was inevitable that the particular memory would be forever ingrained in your brain, like a scar that wouldn't just go away. But this was a beautiful scar.I'd heard tales, watched countless movies that described the feeling of that first kiss. My first kiss with Ethan was awkward, our teeths knocked together and we weren't quite in sync. Eventually, it became natural and the butterflies in my belly always fluttered at the thought of kissing him.But the kiss with Axel was different. There weren't butterflies but a fucking stampede. Axel kissed me hungrily like I was his only source of oxygen, his hands were everywhere , in my hair, on my thighs, then my back, my neck, my face, until I was nothing but a pile of mush at his mercy. Our lips danced, until he had my lower lip between his teeth, tugging slightly. I parted my lChapter 14Selena's POV Was it a good idea to walk in to Asher and confess my promiscuous act? Probably not. But I hated cheaters. Was I any different from Ethan and Elsa? Maybe not. I was pretty decent but one indecent act actually can lead to a whole lot of crazy events. And I loathed drama. This was the second time I would be entering the same cursed office two times in a row. I wasn't too keen but I also knew this is where Asher must be spending his time. I wonder how Asher would feel when I tell him about Axel and I. Surely he'd understand. Axel was my mate and it wasn't an easy feat to push aside the attraction and crazy chemistry between two wolves bonded by the moon goddess herself. It was like trying to swim against the currents in an ocean. Almost impossible. I knew I may not be able to muster the same courage which I was marching with currently hence the need to get this over and done with. So I prayed d
Chapter 15Axel's POV My mate's lips were plump and soft. The moment my lips and hers met, I couldn't quite get enough of it. The more I kissed her, I wanted her closer, I craved to have my body fill hers until we were molded together. The kiss ended a bit too soon. I found myself smiling. "Alpha?", my beta nudged me subtly. I turned to him, seeing a couple more eyes staring at me. "I'm listening. Continue", I urged. A patrol guard in charge of others resumed his talk. "The rogue activities seem to face a recent spike in the past three months", he frowned. "We have tried suppressing more fights here, here and over there", he used a red marker to circle the areas. "So far, it's been successful but we have no idea what they are after""So you're saying that no other area has faced these attacks, except the ones you just listed?""Yes Alpha"I stared at the map, trying to
Chapter 16Axel's POV "Zip it", I glared at my friend who seemed all too invested in the drama called my life. "How, by the goddess name, did your mate somehow end up as your brother's bride to be?", he shook his head, probably attempting to grasp the gravity of the situation. "Tell me about it", I pressed my eyelids in frustration, puffing a breath out. Blake moved to the edge of the couch, using his knees to prop his arms as he leaned towards me. "Well, does she know?", his eyes were filled with curiosity. "And what was her reaction?""She knows", I stated. "But she's not too happy with the situation though. She feels it's unfair that I wouldn't let her go yet I still handed her over to my brother""Technically, you did""Can you stop?", I chided him. "I already feel terrible about this but you're making it worse""Fine", Blake raised his arms in surrender. He eyed me carefully, gauging
Chapter 17Axel's POV I was growing frustrated at the fact that I had no idea why Selena behaved in such a manner. She was bolder this time, different in a hot kind of way but as upset with me as she was the first time we met. "Selena", I pounded at the locked door, dissatisfied when I couldn't hear shuffling of feet or the slightest action that indicated her interest in speaking to me. "Come on, at least explain to me why you're upset"Still, silence met me at the other end. Groaning, I turned to leave only to see someone standing at the end of the hallway. Cecelia. The moment our eyes locked, she smirked before strutting towards me, her heels loud in the quiet hallway. Cecelia came to a stop a few feet from me, too close for comfort hence I took a step back in retaliation. "What are you doing here?", I questioned, boredom already filling my voice. She hated when I did that. Perhaps she was alrea
Chapter 18 Selena's POV I've managed to successfully avoid Cecelia, Asher and most importantly, Axel for the past few days without a single hitch. But when Axel decided to show up in my room while I slept, now that made me freak out a tad bit. After he left, I did feel guilty by my cold demeanor but not by a lot. Axel deserves it. Besides, I had every justification to be mad at him when he made me kiss him like that knowing I was his brother's fiancée. Deep, deep down, I knew we were both to blame equally but for the sake of my anger, I'd pin it all on him. After slamming the door in his face, I didn't hear his receding footsteps until after not less than twenty minutes. He was having a conversation with someone on the other end of the door but I couldn't make out the voice, nor could I narrow it down to whether it was a lady or a man. "Oh, you're dressed", Lily's voice sounded breathless. It was obvious she ran all the way here. "Sorry, I overslept", she bowed her hea
Chapter 19Selena's POV I looked up to the sky and silently cursed the moon goddess at her not so great sense of humor. She must be having a field day, making me meet with the second person out of the three I was avoiding. First, it was Axel, now Cecelia. What? Perhaps I'd meet Asher right after this. Cecelia seemed to read the look of annoyance and part resentment directed towards her but she did an excellent job of pretending everything was just peachy. "Hey Sylvia", she threw a small wave at me, a huge smile lighting up her face. Anyone may just fall for the she-devil's smile but I was immune to it. It had been a few weeks, getting to a whole month of living here and somehow, she never heard my name correctly? Yeah, fat chance. She must've known how much I absolutely despised how she twists my name to suit her phonetic mood. Yet, she does it regardless. "It's Selena", my flat voice corrected. Lily had
Chapter 20I laid on my back, hands pinned to my sides by Axel. This was a terrible idea but my body thrummed in anticipation. Axel's eyes were filled with raw desire, making my breath hitch. He slowly let go of my hands, moving to my sleeping robe. He pulled the rope once, and I watched as it came undone. I only wore a pair of plain lace panties and bra under it but when Axel moved an inch away to get a wider view, his eyes trailed my body like they were the most beautiful thing he had ever laid his eyes on. "Fucking beautiful", he muttered, more to himself than to me. Next, he slowly pulled my panties down, the action torturously slow that I wriggled, speeding up the process. He threw it to the side, finally catching my eyes. "Keep your hands where they are", he instructed. I nodded, not trusting my voice. Seeming satisfied with my answer, I felt his hand move to my already wet clit, circling it slowly.
Chapter 21Selena's POV I visited the gym again the next day, and as expected, Gretchen was already there. She didn't look any different from the last time I saw her, she still had that same raw power aura, the anger, and stern expression. As I said, no difference. "Gretchen", I exclaimed, watching as Lily slapped her forehead from my peripheral vision. If Gretchen had chosen to ignore my existence, I might just act like we had been long time friends just catching up and reuniting. If there was an award for the coldest person in the room, and probably the entire pack house, I would bet all my non-existent fortune that Gretchen would take the prize home. She ignored me, throwing punch after punch to the poor bag. "You know how we were talking the other day and you rushed out because you were so busy?", I questioned rhetorically. "Well, we can continue the conversation today"She didn't falter in her pu
