Blake:
It took every bit of self-control I had in me not to hurt the woman who didn’t know what she was playing at.
The fact that she was openly challenging an Alpha told me that she didn’t know the danger of it. Her being my wife or not, even a mate wouldn’t be allowed to test her Alpha the way she was.
Sensing the danger within the walls of Natalia’s bedroom, Mason, Ryan, my sister Jordan, and her mate Kyle walked inside the bedroom looking at the two of us.
“Natalia, I do suggest that we go for a walk” Mason said, wrapping his arm around her. She frowned in confusion before nodding and taking a step back. Her eyes looked me up and down as if she was waiting for me to react, but I wasn’t going to, not yet anyway.
She walked toward the door, attempting to pass me before I grabbed her arm, squeezing it until she flinched “if you ever cross your limit with me again, not even your powers would be able to save you”
Her arm’s temperature rose as she attempted to burn me, but I kept a tight grip on her, tightening it until I heard her bone crack under the force. A tear fell from her eye before I let her go knowing that I didn’t break the bone, but the force under my grip was enough to rip her tendons.
She put a hand on her now bruised arm before walking out following Mason who wrapped his arm around her, the man pulled her to the door faster than she could process as to ensure that she didn’t do or say anything stupid. Everyone who was watching or listening tensed, and for a second, I could literally feel the silence of the house.
I rolled my eyes before walking out of her room, her racing heartbeat could be heard, and I couldn’t help but notice that Ares was waking from being as numb as he was.
“What’s up with you?” I asked my wolf who was getting restless.
“The girl, there is something about her” Ares said, making me frown in confusion.
“You go silent on me for almost a year, and the second you decide to speak up…”
“I am serious, you will stop hurting her”
“She will need to be tamed to learn to respect her Alpha, then we can decide on what happens next”
***********************
I walked down the stairs for dinner to notice that Natalia was sitting in the kitchen. Her eyes were looking at the mug in her hands, a frown drawn on her face. My chest ached at the sight of her bandaged arm, and I couldn’t help but notice Ares going restless at the sight of her being hurt.
I walked to the dining room without saying a word. My sister Jordan got up from her seat the second she set eyes on me. Her eyes hardened as she walked out of the dining room, making sure to bump my shoulder in a challenging manner. I didn’t bother answering her though, knowing that she was doing this on purpose; I wasn’t going to bicker with her this evening.
Mason, Ryan, and their mates, Sienna and Diana, were sitting on the table. Their eyes fixed on their dishes. The rest of the pack members were the same case, though I couldn’t help but notice that mum and dad’s seats were empty.
“Where is everyone?” I asked, nodding at the empty chairs.
“Jordan just found out that your parents wouldn’t be staying in the mansion, most went out for dinner, others had dinner before coming home” Mason said avoiding my eyes. I simply nodded in response. I wasn’t going to fuss myself over such childish manners.
“Let them know that tonight would be an exception and I will let it slide. However, should anyone have an issue with whatever decision I make, I will be sure to deal with the case differently” I said walking out of the dining room. I entered the kitchen to find Natalia still sitting in the same position that I had left her in earlier.
“Alpha” one of the maids said respectfully. Jodie, who was standing by the door, waiting for whatever Natalia would need shook her head at the sight of my wife. However, she knew better than to say a word about it.
I walked toward her and sat by her side making her tense up “are you okay?”
“What do you want this time? Which bone are you going to choose to fracture?” She asked, moving away from me. She got up from the chair leaving her glass of water untouched as she muttered a bunch of swear words under her breath. I sighed and walked toward her, this time stopping her from going any further by wrapping my arms around her waist.
However, my eyes widened when I felt a spark course through my body and I forced myself to remove my hands despite myself as I glared at her. She turned to face me, her frown could be seen a mile away, but I was too focused trying to understand what had happened. A palm that met my right cheek as Natalie slapped me snapped me out of my sudden daze. My eyes widened in surprise and I found Natalie glaring daggers at me.
“Don’t you ever dare lay a finger on me, Blake Knight, or I swear…”
I growled at her, but she simply rolled her eyes in a mocking manner “growl all you want, Alpha, I have said it a while ago, and I will say it again. You are THEIR Alpha, and not mine”
She turned to walk up the stairs, her back facing me as she rubbed her bruised arm. I debated whether or not to follow her before deciding against it. This was too much for the two of us to handle for one day, and in all honesty, I needed a break after this long day.
Therefore, shaking my head at myself. I walked up the stairs and to my room, ignoring the wide eyes of the pack members who had caught the sight of Natalia slapping me a few minutes ago. Not that it was their business, but an Alpha was respected by EVERY member of the pack. However, it seemed like Natalia was going to be a special case in every single one.
“It was you who started it, by the way” Ares said, making me frown.
“Whose side are you on” I snapped at my wolf “last I checked; you were MY wolf”
“Indeed, I am, but that doesn’t mean that I approve of everything you’re doing, and as your wolf, I did tell you not to hurt your maiden. However, you chose to decide against it” Ares said, making me roll my eyes. I pinched the bridge of my nose before walking inside my bedroom and slamming my door shut.
My mind going back to the spark that I felt earlier.
What was happening to me?
Natalia:I walked out of the house heading to work.Having had breakfast in the kitchen before anyone woke up. Blake made it obvious that he didn’t want me joining him on the table, and I didn’t bother trying to head to their dining room since the night he kicked me out of it to begin with. I had more pride than that, and I was making sure that everyone in the house knew it.I smiled as I started my car having bought it last week, it barely arrived yesterday. I was proud to hear its engine running. It’s been ten days since I’ve married Blake, and need I say that I was proud that the week passed without problems. Not that it was going to be possible anyway as the two of us didn’t bother speaking once.My phone rang, breaking my train of thoughts and I frowned when I saw that it was Amanda who was calling. The fact that the woman knew that I would be coming, and yet was calling told me that something must have been wrong.“What’s wrong, Amanda?” I asked the second I picked up the phone.
Blake:I ran my fingers through my hair as I paced around my room. My mind went wild with thoughts as mixed feelings filled me. I didn’t understand what they were, but all I knew was one thing. I didn’t like them, not one bit.The feeling I felt when I was around Natalia was all too familiar that it both pleased and disturbed me. Pleased because it gave me a sense of peace which I’ve only felt with one woman before, and disturbed because I knew that I wasn’t supposed to feel it with her. The woman who I felt whole with was gone, and no one on this planet was going to replace her.“You need to calm down before you end up cutting off your own hair” Ares said in my mind. My wolf has been silent since my beauty had died, and yet, he was now calm, in a good mood even. That wasn’t a common thing when it came to being an Alpha, one who was both shattered and enraged.“What is happening? Why am I feeling this way?” I asked him.“For someone who's been through this process before, I’m surpris
Natalia:“Stay with me, Blake” I said, holding his injured neck. His eyes rolled to the back of his head “Blake, focus on my voice”“Myla?” He asked. I frowned in confusion but didn’t comment.“Blake, talk to me, keep talking” I said softly “what’s your name?”“Blake Knight?”“Good, choose a number” I said quickly. I had to keep him awake as not to have him enter a coma if he lost consciousness.“What?”“Just choose a number” I said. Again, his eyes rolled to the back of his head, but I gave him two slaps on his cheek, wanting him to stay awake “choose a number, Blake”“Seven”“Good, now choose a color color?”“Black” “Natalia?” Mason’s voice broke my train of thoughts. I looked at him to find him holding a pair of shorts and a shirt. However, his eyes widened when he took sight of the blood pouring from his Alpha’s neck and shoulder. The man’s blood covered my clothes, but I couldn’t care less at the moment. I just knew that we HAD to get him out of here before he lost any more bloo
Blake:I growled at Natalia as the two of us looked at one another. Her ocean blue eyes remained fixed on my emerald green ones. Her eyes were wide in both fear and worry, not to mention her racing heart which was throbbing against her ribcage. But nevertheless, she still got down on her knees in front of me. Extending her hand as she showed me that she was just trying to help and that she wouldn’t harm me. I couldn’t miss her shaking hand as she feared my reaction, but she didn’t move, she wanted to help me, and was showing it in every possible way.“Please” she begged. Her eyes stayed on my own, I growled again wanting her to stay away. I wasn’t stable, for now, I was in my wolf form, an injured wolf is far more dangerous than a normal wolf. The woman was crazy for being here.“I won’t hurt you” she tried again. This time, she slowly got closer to me. I growled again, exposing my canines. She hesitated for a second, but still kept her hand in front of me “I just want to help you, i
Natalia:I ran my fingers through Blake’s dark brown hair as he slept. His chest peacefully rising and falling with each breath he took. His features were finally calm, and the IV needle in his hand. His body having given up on fighting, the man finally got a little rest. His body’s temperature finally settling to a normal one, the man was no longer sweating or shivering with each breath he took. I couldn’t help but smile in contentment at the thought of him healing. My eyes stayed fixed on him as sparks ran through my body. The fact that I knew that he could have died had I not arrived on time made my heart clench with fear. Fear that I didn’t understand, nor did I try to. But everything seemed to be messed up anyway, from the sparks that I felt when I was around him, to the pain I felt seeing him in pain, I couldn’t understand any of them.“Natalia, you need to eat something” Ryan said, handing me a plate. I have been here since yesterday, only leaving Blake’s side to go to the bat
Blake:My heart raced against my ribcage as Ares came to his senses waking me up. The effect of the Wolf’s Veil running out of my body as I opened my eyes. My eyes searched the room which was once filled with her scent.I couldn’t help but growl when I saw Ryan sitting beside me.“Alpha?”“Where is she?” I asked angrily. My eyes scanned the room for her, but she wasn’t there, not that I didn’t know that already. Her scent wasn’t in the house, and it seemed like it hadn't been there for a while now.“What?”“Where is my wife?” I growled before shifting out of anger. The fact that she had left because of him angered me. She had stayed the night by my side when I was in my most dangerous state. When even my pack feared entering the room to help me, she took the risk and did it. Having heard his whole conversation with her, I may have been unconscious in the sense of being awake; however, I was completely conscious as I heard everything that happened around me.“S-She went to work, Alpha
Natalia:“Mine…”I stared at Blake with wide eyes. His own eyes not leaving mine for a second before I smiled and turned my attention to the bandage which was in my hand. I put it on the wound, careful not to hurt him before stepping back and looking him in the eye.“Do try not to rip this one, and if you do, let someone clean and cover the cut for you” “As long as you’re by my side when I wake up, there’s no need for the bandages to get ripped off, right?” Blake smirked and I raised an eyebrow.“What are you up to, Blake?” I asked “what’s all of this? Up until two nights ago, you wouldn’t even look at me, and now…”“You took care of me when my whole family feared approaching me. They would have either left me in the state that I was in, or they would have watched me die. You didn’t leave my side despite me kicking you out, you stayed here” Blake said taking my hand, he intertwined our fingers, or more specifically, tried to; however, I pulled them back before he could, making him fr
Blake:I smiled when I heard my wife’s footsteps as she approached my room. She knocked the door twice, making me smile “come in”She walked inside the room to look me in the eye and shake her head when she saw me waiting for her. Food was already placed on the table which I had the maids prepare for us “come on, let’s eat while the food’s hot at least”“You do realize that you could have left the room and walked to the dining room, right?” Natalia asked, looking at the table while crossing her arms over her chest. She looked around the room which the maids have fixed up in the past few hours as to be comfortable for me to stay in while I healed. The fact that I had to stay here didn’t mean that I needed to stay here with it being a disaster.“Yes, but that would have meant having dinner with the whole pack, and that wasn’t the intention of all of this” I said, pulling her chair back for her to come and sit. However, she quickly put her hand over mine not wanting me to do it “you’re s
Blake:I smiled as I wrapped my arm around my wife, guiding her toward the flower field just like the vision that I showed her.Though I had to admit, the last thing that I expected was for her to be pregnant or the two of us as injured, but I knew that it was now or never. And I wasn’t going to lose the chance to make her the happiest woman on the planet."You actually had them making the garden?” Natalia asked and I smiled before connecting my lips with hers. I bit her bottom lip, pulling it gently before resting my forehead against hers as I pulled away from the kiss. “I take it as a yes?”“A thousand times,” I said, watching as she turned around to look at the flowers. The smells of roses, lilies, orchids, and jasmines filled the air around us, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips when she turned around to face me as I kneeled down on one knee. It was something that I dreamed of, but I didn’t know how things were going to be. But I knew one thing, I wanted to be a
Natalia:I frowned as we entered the room to find Myla dead on the ground with a knife dug deep in her chest.“Blake?” I asked, voicing out of my confusion and he shook his head.“It was the right thing to do, and she would have done it to herself anyway.” He said, and I frowned in confusion. I got inside his head and my heart dropped as I heard and saw what he was referring to. “Blake, that means?” I asked and he shook his head.“I don’t know how accurate it is, but I know that things are going to be complicated from here.” He said, and I looked at Ryan who was quiet throughout the whole thing. I knew that him being the Alpha’s current beta, he would be lost in so many thoughts, but right now, we needed to know whether or not they needed our help. “They are in their graves…”“We are just going to have to dig them out,” Blake said, stopping me. He frowned as he looked at the door behind me and it wasn’t until screams echoed through the walls that I frowned. I went to rush toward the
Blake:My heart raced against my ribcage as different monitors kept beeping. I squeezed my eyes tightly before forcing them to open, reminding myself of my ability to use my motors. However, that didn’t go as well as I planned for it to as I found myself squinting my eyes shut, trying to avoid the light that was in the room.“Blake?” My mum’s voice filled my ears, and though I was hurt by her and dad, I couldn’t describe the pain that I felt because of them, I couldn’t help but feel thankful for her presence.“Natalia?” I said, shaking my head as I tried finding her. My heart raced and I couldn’t help but frown when I saw her laying beside me, her chest rising and falling with each breath that she took. She didn’t have an oxygen mask, unlike the one that I had, but I could see the bandages that were almost all over her body.“She is just asleep right now. The doctors have instructed that she gets as much rest as she can as she would need to regain her strength after what happened.” M
Natalia:My heart raced as I looked at the demon who formed in front of me.The fact that she was burning the room that was beside me, the room that had my mate inside, made my heart race. And that was something that I knew she was going to try and play with, my fear, anger, and worry. But that wasn’t something that I wanted to give her. “I do believe that it would make things faster if the two of you choose to give up.” She said, her voice sending chills down my spine as I looked at my mate who was trying to stay as far away from the fire. I tried controlling it, but nothing seemed to work. The fact that I knew that Jaiden, the man who was supposed to be my father, was fighting his own dad at the podium scared me. If anything, the fact that they were a father and son getting into this was something that broke me inside, but I knew now that no matter what I was going to say or what I was going to do, nothing would matter. It wasn’t even about me and my husband, these witches were ai
Blake:I growled as I saw my brother shifting, no longer able to contain himself as his instincts took over. The portals revealed the manipulators that were summoned by my wife, and I couldn’t help but find myself growing proud of her strength. To say the least, I knew that she was going to grow a lot stronger now that she knew who she was and what she was capable of.Drake let out a low growl, and I couldn’t help but recall the fact that the man wasn’t even in his head. Whatever was going on, I knew that the witches were having some sort of control on him, and though it pained me to consider, I knew that I had to end this one way or the other.Natalia looked at me and I nodded in assurance as I watched Crystal take flight. The fact that she fought against the control of the witch made me proud of how strong her bond grew with Natalia despite the short period.I took a step toward my brother, my stance ready for his attack as I saw Ariana and Riya, the two who pretended to be on our s
Natalia:My heart raced against my chest as I felt my dragon being close and yet so far to reach.I could tell that Crystal was here somewhere, I just didn’t know where she was.Blake wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him as we entered the podium. No one really bothered to approach us, and I knew the reason; everyone now believed that we were either cursed, or they thought that they were going to watch us die.I looked at mum who was standing in the center of the podium along with Blake’s parents and the two of us frowned before being approached by them. Almost everyone else had their families waiting for them. Mum wrapped her arms around me, pulling me in for a hug before I could say a word, and though I didn’t understand her reason, I couldn’t help but feel my chest ache. This was the first hug that she has given me in years. She pulled away to look me in the eye before running her finger over my cheek, clearly in pain because of what was happening to me. Thoug
Blake:My chest ached as I found myself waking up beside my wife on a field of grass.Flowers were sprawled almost everywhere around us, and for a second, I could swear that I was back at the house, OUR garden. But I could also tell that it was different, this was a place that we knew, but it wasn’t ours, not yet anyway. Natalia frowned and shook her head in question before I got up from the floor. She sat up and pinched the bridge of her nose before turning to look at me. I watched as she stood up and looked around, taking the scene that was in front of her.Birds flew around and the sound of water could be heard from a distance, but I couldn’t catch a scent to let me know where I was, nor could I define the image that we were seeing. “Are you in my head again?” She asked, and I shook my head, making her frown. “Not that I know of,” I said, only to frown when I saw Alexander and Nikita standing in front of us. The two of us were wearing complete white outfits, my beauty wore a whi
Natalia:“How the fucking hell did you manage to get out of this one?” Riya asked, glaring at us. I smiled at the woman as my mate tightened his arm around me.To say that I was at peace was an understatement to what I was feeling. Hell, the man was not only giving me the love that I wanted and desired, but he was giving me the contentment that I knew I wouldn’t find elsewhere if their lives were taken for me to find it.“I believe that it doesn’t concern you, especially considering the fact that you too managed to pass.” Blake said, smiling at her. I knew that he was also feeling not only content, but at peace. His wolf has been purring lowly for my ears and I couldn’t help the smile that was plastered on my face regardless of how hard I tried wiping it off.Hell, as hard as this was, this day was the best of my life.“You two are playing the rules way too much for my liking.” Drake said, entering the hall where we were standing. Not even he could bother me tonight, that was one thi
Blake: I wrapped my arm around my mate once I’ve put my clothes back on, smirking at the fact that she managed to conceal my nudeness in front of the audience, not that it mattered to me anyway. It wasn’t like I would be having anything that they haven’t seen or don’t have, but it proved to me that she simply wanted the sight for her eyes. “Are you okay?” She asked, handing me a stone cup which she formed before filling it with pure water. I smiled and took a sip of it before handing her the cup to drink. She smiled at my concern and took a sip of it before handing it back to me. “You need it more than I do right now, and a sip is more than enough for me.” I kissed her forehead before drinking the rest of the water, not wanting to break her word before turning to the final round of the day. The Forest of Doom was engraved on the ground and both Natalia and I rolled our eyes as we read the words. The last thing that we needed right now was to deal with such a fact, and considering
