Lord Darius didn't even pay heed to Nikolaus's jabs at me but instead continued. "Yes, indeed. It is unique... And more." He paused, glancing at me.

I placed my focus on the goblet in my hand, trying to ignore the fact that I felt cornered. As if speaking with Lord Darius wasn't enough of a burden, now Nikolaus is added to the mix.

Someone get me out of this nightmare.

"If my guess is right, then Aria might prove to be quite valuable." Nikolaus suddenly muttered, a mischievous smirk on his face as he drank and took the content of his goblet in one gulp. He made himself comfortable, snapping his fingers to signal the vampire servant girls to come in with a refill.

After they'd poured him a refill, he dismissed them before continuing, turning his gaze to Lord Darius. "My Lord, what we have to do now is keep on monitoring her to see if our deductions are correct." He glanced at me. "That's where my good friend Sylvain comes in."

My stomach churned at the word 'friend'.
