Chapter 77: Our Home

SOPHIE’S POV

I woke up yet again to the strong smell of disinfectant. The ward I was in was very quiet and isolated since it was a private ward. I switched my eyelids on and off to brighten my vision. I glanced around like I was used to doing every morning since I came here, taking in the vision of the closed hospital walls that were schemed in ash and white.

I will finally be out of this place tomorrow morning. I was so much better now, better enough to go back to my normal life. According to the doctor in charge of my case, I had only fainted from mild dehydration coupled with the stress and emotional rollercoasters the paternity saga took me through. Vasovagal syncope is what he called it. So I would have been billed for discharge so much earlier than tomorrow, but Elliot and I had agreed I would take the opportunity to rest and relax some more after all, no one was getting hurt.
