Reyna-Once a good distance away from Wolf Tech and Kaige tells me to slow down because we aren’t being chased, I let off the accelerator. As I did, Luka released an audible exhale in my ear. With everything going on, I almost forgot he had been listening to everything the entire time.“I don’t know whether to kiss you or yell at your right now.” Luka was panting, making it sound as if he had been holding his breath the whole time.“I got the flash drive.”“That’s great and all, but you could have been in a lot of danger. I don’t want you to return to Wolf Tech or get anywhere near Zane. It is no longer safe until I can get out and deal with him.”“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on it. Right now, the only thing that I am going to focus on is helping you beat the game. I can worry about the rest later. There is something that does need to be handled though.”Glancing at my brother, who was now wearing his shirt and pants, I narrowed my eyes at him briefly before looking at the road again. “
Reyna- The next morning, after spending the night with Luka, I had to log out of the game. We spent all night trying to produce a solution. The only thing Luka could think about was to hack the system and return everything back to normal. If it weren’t for the huge risk involved, I would have agreed. It was no longer about being found, now it was about the system detecting him as a virus. It was too risky to attempt a large-scale hacking code inside the game. We agreed to meet in a safe zone, on a previous level, this evening, after everyone else could join us. After spending so much time in the game, I felt as if my insides were going to explode. Rushing to the bathroom, I managed to sit down on the toilet to relieve myself just in time. I thought about going to get something to eat first but ended up showering and getting changed instead. Just as I was about to leave my room, my phone rang. Checking the caller ID, I saw it was my best friend. It was Friday, so I didn’t know why
Reyna-At the rate we were going, if we didn’t figure out a way out, Luka wasn’t going to survive. There were too many of them to keep away from Luka. It didn’t take much to figure out that Zane wasn’t taking any chances. This was too much just to get rid of one person.“Reyna, I managed to get through the same door that Zane managed to attack Luka in your location. Alpha and the others will be joining shortly to help.” Jake’s voice came over the automated system that was directly linked to my account.Perfect timing, I thought. It wasn’t long after that my brother and his men started teleporting in to help. I noticed a few of them try to shift into wolves, resulting in them getting killed in the process. Thankfully I took out the safety features in their gear, so they were able to rejoin a minute later. Now I was sure that any character’s special ability was prohibited. I'm not sure if it was due to Zane doing something or just the system not allowing it due to this being a safe zone
Reyna-Since neither of us knew our way around level twenty, we had to rely on the map. We tried not to waste any time grinding through the monsters, but we also needed to be able to be able to get stronger. Especially me, since I was in the same situation that Luka was in, except he doesn’t know.We were the only players on level twenty, so at least we didn’t need to worry about other players. Since Luka’s identity has been revealed, he no longer has to try to conceal his face. Walking side by side with him, it was a little strange that he didn’t need to hide any longer.“What is it?” Luka asked, catching me staring at him for the tenth time.“Sorry, it is just odd seeing you being completely exposed without a hood or mask on.” I smiled shyly as I looked away.“It isn’t like you haven’t seen it.”“I know, but it is different. I guess it is more of a reminder that the end is drawing near.” I shrugged.I didn’t elaborate on what ending it would be, because at this point, I didn’t know.
Reyna-Instead of trying to explain it, I opened my menu and went to where the log-out button should be. Showing it to him, I watched as a mixture of different emotions moved over his face. The two most noticeable emotions were anger and concern.“Fuck!” He roared, no longer keeping his voice down.Flinching as he slammed his fist against the rock beside my head, I didn’t stop him when he walked away and began pacing. I wasn’t sure if he was angry at me or just Zane. To be fair, he had every right to be angry with me, considering I had withheld that information from him.“I am going to kill him.” He growled.“I know I should have told you, but I didn’t want you to worry. There is already a lot going on, that I didn’t want to add to it.”“This isn’t your fault. I mean, I wish you would have told me, but you are not to blame.” His voice softened as he approached me, touching the side of my face tenderly. Before I could reach up to cover his hand with mine, to comfort him, he walked away
Reyna-“It is done.” Luka said a few minutes later. He was now facing me, standing with his arms relaxed at his sides. The world around us was breaking down and disappearing little by little. Even if Luka seemed completely relaxed, seeing everything break apart and disappear was unsettling.“Just like that?” My gaze shifted from one thing to another, before it disappeared before my eyes. “Did you destroy the game?”“No, it is just being reset completely and rebuilt according to my code. Everything will go back to the way it was meant to be. We do need to leave the game before everything disappears.” Luka stepped forward and took my hand in his.“Can we log out now?” I looked at him expectantly. This all seemed too easy.“Yes. Everything will be fine now. I just need you to log out first and I will be behind you shortly after.”A smile lit up his face and I felt a wave of excitement flow through me. Was it truly over? After all this time, was it really that simple? Well, not entirely.
Reyna-A low growl echoed around the room a second later and I recognized it instantly. Before I could look over at Jake and Luka, a large black wolf slammed into the side of Zane’s wolf. Freed at last, I quickly moved to my feet.Zane and a back wolf were currently in a full-fledged fight. Seeing Luka’s wolf in the flesh, I almost let out a squeal of delight. To confirm that the black wolf was Luka, I glanced over at where Luka had been lying. His body was no longer there. Only Jake remained, looking utterly stunned.Feeling that I would only get in the way, I backed up to give the two wolves room to fight. They moved quickly, but I managed to follow their movements with my eyes. At first, Zane had the upper hand, but it didn’t take long for Luka to overpower Zane.Seeing them fight in the real world felt unreal. When Zane’s wolf lashed out at Luka, blood spurted from a wound. For a split second, I thought about getting a potion but then remembered that we weren’t in the game. For th
Reyna-“Can you believe it? Luka just walked in as if he hasn’t been missing all this time.” My best friend Ameria sat on my desk, facing the large window of my new office. A full week has passed since Luka left the game and lost his memory. Well, he forgot about me, but he remembered everything else. The most he could remember was that someone had helped him in the game but couldn’t recall details.I tried explaining to him that I was his mate, but he didn’t believe me. He said that he felt something weird toward me, but he couldn’t explain it. I tried to tell him everything about our past, but no matter what I said, he didn’t remember anything. The more I tried explaining, the more agitated he became. It was weird that I was the only one he didn’t remember. He could remember every detail about everyone else, including Kaige. My brother had failed to help me, so Luka ended up leaving his house.I had returned to work and the entire company had been in shambles. An email from Luka w
