When Creed saw that Wolf was on his team, his blood boiled. He also saw that his ring was hanging from his neck in form of a necklace. He just wanted to beat him to death, but he couldn't right now. Creed couldn't ignore the fact that Wolf Hilton was a troublesome fly and a crafty fox.
What Creed needed right now was patience. His mind was clogged with surviving the current predicament than their petty squabbles. Wolf wasn't weak, but now Creed was no bug either, so he waited patiently to deal with him later with his element of surprise.
There was a total of 10 teams who were taking part in this year's JETs, each with around 10-12 members. As Creed predicted, authorities had assigned him to squad-5, which comprised 11 members, including him. They were a balanced team. The place which authorities decided squad-5 to explore was called 'Tomb of Cerberus', a newly discovered labyrinth.
Lin started the conversation, "I am the team leader for our team. Some of us know
"Crap! What happened?" Wolf looked at the gate. "Where did he go?""Fuck! what do we do now?" Guss's panicked like a herd of sheep."Did he just teleported beyond the gate?? Is he alive or dead?"The Ancient Gate being an active teleporter was the last thing that everybody expected. Even more, its destination coordinated, and the range was also unknown. He could be anywhere, buried miles inside the ground or even deep inside the bottomless sea."I guess, we will have to find that out ourselves!" Lin sighed heavily."Alright! I am going in, you can choose not to come... but," Lin proceeded towards that door then looked back. "Let me say it clearly, Whatever we find from that side will only belong to those who risk their lives."This time Lin gave everybody a choice instead of an order as a squad leader. Lin's primary objective behind this was to filter out people who can really stand straight against an unknown danger. It wa
"Damn it! I think we've lost them!" Lin asked Roy, annoyed. "Can you sense anybody?"Roy shook his head. "Nope! everyone is too far away... "Earlier when the alpha beast appeared, they all ran in different directions and luckily one of the smaller beasts followed Roy and Lin while the alpha followed someone else. Lin and Roy took advantage of this situation and ran away to save themselves. For Roy and Lin, things became pretty straightforward after that. The small one followed both of them and got killed by those two since it was already comparatively weak in front of their teamwork. But now they were too far away from their prior location. Wolf seemed to have run along with Remy in a different direction too.Creed and Mira also got detached from the group. Now they were all lost and scattered. The Hall seemed very huge and spacious since the pillars were blocking their vision in every direction. They couldn't track themselves or others. Lin and Roy gues
*Cough**Cough* ~huff ~huffMira opened her eyes, gasping for deep breaths."Seriously! What a shitty dream!" Mira's vision was still fuzzy, "Dying on the first da—Wait!"A sudden familiar throbbing pain rushed out to her. She held her head. A possibility that this all wasn't a dream crept up in her mind. She got up in haste. Though she had recovered completely, the smell of excreted skin and puss still lingered. This pungent smell was the biggest disadvantage of the beta-pill.The secretion of spiked enzymes and metabolism boosters inside the body consumed the energy of the body with an unrestricted speed which leads to rapid activation of the cells. The activated cells repair the body but they die fast as well leading to a heinous outlasting stench.Mira lost balance and tripped on her butt when she tried to get up too fast."Shit!! it wasn't a dream!!""How am I even alive? And what happened to him?"A barrage of
"Mateo!""You are alive! But I saw the beast took you." Mira couldn't believe her eyes. "How did you survive?"When they came closer to the pillar, it stunned both of them. They saw Mateo sitting wounded on the floor against the pillar; He was eating something from his pocket. His left hand was badly injured while his clothes were painted with blood. He looked exhausted."Mira!! ... and Creed!!""Where did you come from?" He turned at them, startled, " And how did you guys find me?""We were coming this way to search for others, luckily we spotted you..." Mira replied."Others!!" Mateo retorted, surprised. "So they aren't with you? How did you all scatter?"."Don't ask, It's a long story. All of us got separated so me and Creed are searching for others," Mira explained hastily, then asked. "More importantly, what happened to you after the fight? I almost assumed you were --""Dead!" Mateo interjected, "Well, you weren't t
##NOTE - Sometimes I am calling the 'floating heart' the 'floating tumor' or 'tumor'... I did this because the appearance of the Floating Heart is very grotesque, almost like a tumor. ##"Well, somebody needs to check it out, right?" Roy wanted to save his skin, so he went with fake compliments. "Creed's got the finest luck out of all of us!""Shut up! I am not going there alone," Creed howled angrily."How is that thing alive?" Mira kept gazing at the gruesome details of the floating tumor. "It has a rhythm, but it's so menacing!""Listen, this is just a waste of time, somebody needs to check it out!," Mateo kept looking at Creed."Okay!! how about we select two people out of us randomly?" Lin looked at others for their input, "How about we do it by a lottery? The chosen two will check it out .""Fine, then. Let's do a lottery." Creed replied.A sense of relief washed over Creed. He didn't want to go near that obnoxious thing. Every
"What do you mean by 20%?" Mateo glanced at Creed with agitation. "No!! 20% is too low !!""It's either that or nothing!" Creed replied hastily. "And every minute those odds get worse, so decide fast!""I have no problem," Mira said as she looked at Creed."In fact, I like those odds, at least it's not a 'Zero',""I am fine too... it's better than nothing at least," Lin and Roy agreed as they saw this as their last hope. "We don't have a plan anyway!""Yeah, me too," Remy said as she was still slaughtering the newborns."No problem here either," Wolf agreed too."Okay, so if everybody is on board then let me tell you my plan..." Creed kept making gestures and explained his plan while fighting, they all kept listening while keeping the newborns at bay. After he finished explaining everyone went silent, nobody made any comment. Though Mateo's soul seems to be leaking out of his body."That's your plan?" Mateo howled angrily,
They all looked around them, but they couldn't find the others. Rina, Lorenzo, Rhett, and Guss, all four left after they teleported to the other side. Wolf and Roy tried, but they couldn't pinpoint them."They are still inside the Tomb, but they are too far away," Roy replied while eating an apple. "We need to head back to the entrance.""Okay, we have seven hours," Lin ordered them to get up "We have earned nothing and also lost the one flux-serum allotted to us. There's nothing we could do about that so let's head back and see if we can find others along the way"."Hmm ... I want to get washed up too!" Mira covered her face with a cloth, " I would kill for a bath.""Let's head back," Mateo and Remy also covered their faces. "This horrible stench is killing me.""Creed, can you walk?" Mira asked creed and supported him from one side as he was the most injured, "Wait, Let me help you.""Those tentacles almost killed me!" Creed let Mira help
"Fuck!! Is everybody seeing what I am seeing?" Rhett's eyes almost popped out from their sockets."What the — Are you kidding me?" Mateo also glanced at the JET's ranking portal with wide eyes. "How the hell did we get the first place?""This is a joke, right?" Remy too rubbed her eyes."What the hell happened? I mean... this is unbelievable!"Except for Creed and Lin, everyone from team - 5 was sitting in the cafeteria. They had just completed all of their formalities and came to have lunch one last time as a team. Wolf was munching on beef carelessly. When he looked at the rankings, it puzzled him slightly; he was the only one in the group who wasn't as surprised as others."I too didn't believe at first, but if you think about it, it makes sense." Wolf said coolly, "This also means that the most influencing factor was 'how many can survive?'"Wolf continued, "I might be wrong here, but I guess there were extra points if every
Hello Readers, Thanks for staying with me for this long. I know this is sudden but making you all dangle for a petty frequency of uploads is just too cruel. That's why I have decided to mark this as a conclusive checkpoint i.e. mark this book as completed. Been a wonderful journey so far. Every comment I have seen or read (good or bad) has brought a froth of emotions that drove me to write my heart out. In my eyes, as a story, Apaurushya has proven itself as a story with a potential of unimaginable horizon. Every character has surprised me by their actions. Each of them have a life. Almost as if I don't need to write them; they can write themselves. Nevertheless, this isn't the end. We haven't even scratched the surface of what really lies there beyond the ungodly boundaries of these Akashik space anomalies. If you wanna connect, bug me or l
"Jake, wait! I'm coming with you!""Mira! You're here too…""Yeah! Just let me come with you… ""Nope! Just stay here, there is nothing much for you to do...I'm gonna get him cleaned, and drop him to his home!""Come on! Don't be like that…""No means no…" Jake shunned her down. "both of you just stay put…it's better that way. He messed with the alliance, so it's best you keep your distance for now.""Don't worry about me!" Artemis interrupted, "Also, I could say the same to you! How is, you helping him out any different than me!""Alliance has eyes everywhere… I already got myself involved so
Creed felt a numbing headache from all the lights that ravaged his vision. One of his knees immediately gave up and kneeled on the ground. Fortunately, Jake grabbed him by his shoulders before he could fall down."Argh… come on… Stand straight you idiot…""Fuck you! I'm trying, asshole… give me a break!""Serves you right, fucker… " Jake replied with a grunt, "Nobody asked you to throw your sword at her when you're bleeding from your ass! Fucking show off…""Show off, that's what you think?… I was trying to kill her!""Kill her! Seriously, dude, what's gotten into you?" Jake frowned as he dragged him forward. "Better, keep your anger in check. If it wasn't for Miss Luna and me,
"Just do what I say…" Luna's domineering voice broke from the sheer rage, "Or I will cut that bird and shove its head inside your ass."Creed's hair on the neck stood up, and he gulped a mouthful. He immediately turned around and limped back towards the cage in haste. As he saw the Little gobbler almost passed out from exhaustion, a sense of urgency rose. He arched his back to an extreme and swung his right arm.At the last moment, his mayhem saber appeared inside his hand. The saber hit the cage and a loud mechanical screech boomed in the hall.~CLANKUnfortunately, Despite Creed using so much force, the cage did not break. The horrifying sound of metal made Little Gobbler tremble inside.
With his unrestrained perception, his eyesight has been giving him trouble with the information overload. Because of this, his brain has temporarily blurred his vision this entire time. He couldn't see the people who interpreted the battle, only the dark shadows that were too close to him. Creed has been fighting while completely dependent on his other senses. However, just from the brief exchange, he subconsciously understood that this wasn't enough against the one who stood in front. The sheer rage has pushed him beyond the edge. Creed's vision was so dark and dingy that he couldn't even see his face in such a close combat. His brain was a complete mess and volatile perception had put him in an aggressive state, almost like a machine programmed to annihilate whatever comes in front. All Creed could see wa
'So she has ascended too…' Akash murmured to himself, 'bad! This couldn't get worse... Gryffon… What are you going to do now? You better run this time...' The pressure that burst out was something Akash and Kiara were already familiar with, because the intensity was the same as his own rhythm. This kind of pressure could only come from a person who has ascended from the boundaries of bhu-lok. Kiara and others were also freaking out right now. Artemis and the four siblings' faces have turned pale already. They all understood that this just might be the end of this entire thing. There was no way Creed could stand up to her. His level of power was far too low compared to hers. Even with his berserk skill, catching up to an ascended individual is just not possible for a mere elite, no matter how strong. The best cour
A lustful blush appeared on Grisha's cheeks and a huge smile appeared on her rosy lips. Her chest tightened with the shock waves that appeared. She rubbed both of her palms and blew into it."So this is what she gave birth to… the blood doesn't lie… I just never noticed… A fire that burned him into something else… he isn't just a chakra freak anymore… he never was… He is what he's always been…""The son of Queen..."The entire went numb when they bathed under the demonic intent oozing out of the blade. The dazzling sparks that burst from the clashes burned into the eyes of the observers. Not just Creed's blade, but his entire body shined with glimmering scarlet. There was no corner on the stage that hadn't been
"I ask you again!" Creed shot a glare, "Which one of you touched my bird?"The man coughed the ground with his bloody organs. The stage boiled under the tension undefined in all senses. Yet, Dollar Twenty and the other five stood unfazed by the turn of tables. However, amidst the chaos, the audience's guts flipped upside down. Both McConnell and Jiang siblings felt their lifespan shortening.Artemis' eyes turned teary. Her ears burned red when she saw gallons of blood gushing down from Creed's head, dripping all the way to his chin.Kiara, Akasha and Grisha looked at the scene with tightened chests. A razor-sharp sensation crawled inside their blood vessels. Not just them, but several hunters from the crowd now had their undivided focus on the unbridled escal
"Little… Gobbler…" Every hair on Creed's skin stood up straight. His very soul almost rejected his body, and images around him dulled to a standstill. He could hear his heart thumping inside his eardrums. A chronic corruption leaked into his eyes when he heard Dollar Twenty start the bidding. "The bidding for the High-Tier Inca Aves starts with $300 Thousands!" "$350 thousands!" "$400 thousands!" "$450 thousands!" "$500 thousands!" The sound of chatters began to fade out. Creed vision blacked out and a high-pitched siren hijacked his eardrums. His pulse spiked up to a gh
