So many uncertainties

Celia's POV

She has been overthinking. Nova hasn't gotten better. It's like instead of her body rejecting the process, it has amplified her humanity.

Which makes no sense.

Her mouth froths as she tries to fight off the rope that keeps her tied to Tessa, the gag almost slipping off. Jonathan always looks worried, and each time Celia is alone with Nova, Jonathan isn't too far away.

He probably thinks I'll kill her, she thought, and honestly...she had considered it.

Nova didn't act like herself, hell, she didn't even look like herself, and she seemed to lose her words. She made feral, angry sounds, always close to biting off the finger of Tessa when it was time to eat.

And it would be an act of mercy, rather than a fight to survive type of situation. But Jonathan looked after Nova stubbornly, refusing to even consider it.
