Chapter 48: LAW

I was lying on the bed beside her, huffing and puffing like a freight train, when my phone went off. I can't catch a break in this joint.

"It's me."

"Boss, we've got trouble."

"What kind of trouble?" I looked down at the woman on my chest. Too often here of late, I've been hitting it and running with no cuddle time in between, and I knew she needed that shit.

I lifted her head off my chest and laid it on my pillow instead. She was out cold anyway, so I didn't feel too guilty. She sighed and burrowed deeper into the pillow as I headed out of the room.

"Brand's woman's people are here."

"We've got a leak. There's no way they could've known we had her this soon. Keep their asses outside. I don't want them inside." I smelt like sex, so I had to detour to the bathroom to clean myself up.

"It's been a couple days, boss; maybe they just put it together. Either way, I'll do a search and see if one of ours crossed over."

"You do that, Clay." I hung up the phone, none too pleased with th
