By Hector Marques

days later

"It seems the romance between Heitor Marques and Catherine Castro, is not only true as it goes very well. The two have been seen constantly enjoying each other’s company, and as you can see in the photo below, Hector is apparently able to surprise us even more, because unlike what we were used to see, he acts like a true gentleman with the beloved, showing to be completely different from the man of months ago. They say that love transforms, in the case of the two heirs is the following question: Is it love that transforms or money? Would this really be a love of fairy tales, or behind this relationship has a big move involving the society that today unites the companies of the two families? We will see! In the more, we only wish happiness to the couple."

After I took Catherine to dinner, until we got closer to each other. Let us say that we could consider that although our confrontations were constant, our coexistence was slightly tolerable. Well, at least when we were in front of people and we needed to prove we were a couple in love. I did not know exactly where Catherine wanted to go, I did not know what she planned for after our marriage, but I at least wanted to ensure the command of the company and my inheritance. Of course I still found it absurd to marry in those circumstances, but I did not want to lose the patrimony that would be mine by right.

I tried to adapt to Catherine, because her personality completely different from mine was a great challenge that I tried to dodge every day. There were times when I almost lost my mind with so many rules established by the brunette with green eyes, and that annoying way was something like the temptation to make me throw everything up and give up, but instead, I decided that I also would not make things easier for her, and so we lived almost as between slaps and kisses.

The media had fallen perfectly in the charms that the new couple provided. Whenever we met in public we attracted the spotlight. Due to our discreet way of treating each other, we were being considered as a shy but "cute" couple.

My father was apparently pleased with the course things were taking, after all, since my engagement to Catherine was confirmed, my name no longer appeared in the headlines as that of the useless and troubled heir. From what he said the company’s own shareholders were surprised by the news that Catherine and I were together. Some were even more sympathetic to the idea of having me lead the company.

Surprisingly the only problem I kept facing was with Stella, who unlike Kaique, who, upon learning of the novelty of my support chose and said that the love between Catherine I, could arise over time, the other did not conform to this phase of my life. Of course Stella’s latest actions irritated me because apart from our unstable part, she was just a good friend and one of the few people I knew was always someone I could count on.

I was in my room getting ready for the big moment, that is, the engagement dinner being offered in our mansion, when I saw a little troublemaker break into my room. Agatha was my younger sister, and although she was only ten years old, she was smart enough to understand that I was about to marry.

I smiled at how beautiful my sister looked. Agatha was someone I would protect all my life.

"Hey, little princess. What are you doing here?" I asked the little one who seemed excited.

"Your bride is beautiful, Hector. She looks like a princess just like me."

Smile with the innocence of the minor.

"You’ll always be the most beautiful princess of my life." I kissed her on the cheek making her laugh. "But tell me, how do you know she’s beautiful?"

"Because she just arrived with her family, and attracted everyone’s attention to her. Mom asked me to call you."

At that moment I seemed to realize... I had no escape, the moment had come.

With Agatha beside me, I went down the stairs slowly and could already see that the room was quite busy with the presence of many guests considered important by my father and my future father-in-law. Many of the guests who were there I did not even know, which caused me boredom. However, for some incomprehensible reason the tedious feeling was left behind when I arrived in the middle of the room and my eyes met Catherine, who smiled next to an unknown man from whom she seemed to be intimate. I watched that extremely exaggerated interaction, they talked and smiled in a way that bothered me.

While I was watching her without her noticing, I think for the first time I actually noticed her. Catherine was perfectly beautiful, well educated, knew how to impose her presence anywhere she was present, it was not difficult to draw attention and could easily be considered with a princess as Agatha did. And if I wasn’t so strange, I could fall in love with her, but I knew that this was not a risk that I would take, because I was never the type to surrender to a feeling as superficial as love.

"If you keep drooling like this I will seriously come to the conclusion that you will marry for love." Kaique’s husky voice emerged just behind me.

"Fuck you, you bastard." I grumbled in a bad mood.

"Son..." My mother interrupted us. "Won’t you greet your bride? You should be closer to her, I think you might lose your fiancée before you even say yes."

I immediately understood why Mom was saying that, and of course I wouldn’t let that happen. I could not let my image be dirty before the whole country.

Kaique caught his laugh when he saw me flustering at the possibility.

"I’m going right now to her, Mama. Come with me Kaique."

I went towards Catherine. I did not want to demonstrate, but I felt an unusual anxiety for being closer to my future bride, I did not even know why I was so anxious, perhaps it was curiosity to know who would be that man next to him.

"Good night!" I greeted everyone as I approached. "You look beautiful, Catherine."

Despite the anger he felt at his boldness before all the guests, I gently kissed the green-eyed woman’s face. With our closeness I could feel again that perfume that gradually was becoming so familiar to my senses.

"I’d like you to meet a friend."

I used Kaique as an excuse because I didn’t want her to think I was bothered by her presence next to that man.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Catherine. Hector has been talking a lot about you." Kaique greeted the brunette with excitement.

"Good things, I hope." Catherine teased my idiot friend who laughed. "That’s Deputy Patrick. A dear friend of our family."

My bride introduced the man to her side, and stared into my eyes as I shook the man’s hand. She seemed to seek to read my emotions, which obviously could not, because I camouflaged them. It wouldn’t give Catherine the taste to know she was hating that approach of yours. I just approached her and ran my arm around her body letting everyone believe I was happy to have her there, and I was glad she didn’t walk away.

"You’re perfect together. I think in less than a year after the wedding, we’ll have babies in the family."

Kaique’s words were like a punch in my stomach, and I almost choked. What the hell did he intend with that baby story? That engagement party had just begun and I was starting to sweat cold.

Some time later dinner was served. Everyone drank, ate and talked excitedly with satisfaction, that’s when the look of my father made me understand that the time had come.

"Ladies, gentlemen..." attracts everyone’s attention to me. "This is a special night for our families, and in particular for me and Catherine. For a long time I was lost, but when I met her I think I found myself." Those words weren’t true, but the strange cold I felt in my stomach was. "She who has many qualities that I have learned to admire, is the example of a woman that I feel I want to have by my side. Without me I am incomplete, and that is why we are here that night."

He took a velvet box and I prayed that no one would notice how much I was shaking. Then I opened carefully and looked into his eyes that analyzed me carefully.

"Catherine De Castro, I want to grow up next to you and discover a completely different world than I know. Will you marry me?"

Pretending to feel an emotion that I knew she didn’t feel, the answer came immediately staring into my eyes.

"I’ve always dreamed of that moment. Of course I do, Hector."

Before the applause of all the guests, I slipped Catherine’s finger the engagement ring I had personally chosen to offer her that night. There was no return, in a few months we would be living that unwanted marriage for both of us, without at least knowing what to expect from our loveless coexistence.

By Hector MarquesA few months laterI could hardly believe that in a few hours my ”forced” marriage to Catherine would happen. Gradually it seems that the record was falling and my heart pressed to realize that in a few hours Hector Marques would become a married man. Many men in my place would probably be anxious and happy with the moment, but it turns out that I was far from feeling this way. I was a man completely free for the opportunities that life brought me and would soon be trapped in something that did not seem to suit me. That was scary! I was definitely far from a happy man.The wedding would be held in an impromptu party hall on the outside of my house, and from my room I could hear the screams of my mother who had really freaked out about this wedding story and almost drove me crazy too. She wanted the decor impeccable, as well as all the buffet service.I heard knocks on the bedroom door and authorized the entrance without caring who would be there, but I was surprised

By Hector Marques The party was going on and everyone seemed to have fun while Catherine and I were going through a real photo section. My mouth was already numb from smiling. It was our parents' idea to open the coverage of the wedding to some representatives of the main local newspapers, according to them that event would mark the new era of our families that was now one. I looked at Catherine and it was notorious her annoyance before the many flashes in her eyes, but unlike me, she seemed too polite to refuse to pose for the cameras always with a smile on her lips. "Aren’t you tired of these pictures?" I passed my arms around her waist hugging her fondly as more flashes hit us hard. Photographers seemed to yearn to find our best angle and capture the best image. "You have no idea how much." She ran her arms around my neck just so they would believe that we were a happy couple with that moment. "They’re boring, and my eyes are already burning." "Great, so it’s time to say good

By Catherine De CastroAfter a while enjoying the company of my cousin and my great friend, I asked permission to go to the bathroom to see how my makeup was. I entered Hector’s family home and went to his room. All I wanted was to have a few minutes alone to recover from the whirlwind of emotions I was feeling from the moment I said yes on that altar.I walked around the room and looked around... I had never been there before, I even imagined that Hector’s room had some kind of macabre decor, but in fact it was quite the opposite. His room did not have that dark style that he used to like to show in his black clothes. He had a lot of books, CDs, a guitar, and pictures scattered everywhere. I was not surprised to see that in most of them the image of Kaique and Stella were always next to my husband. But I could not help but be bothered by the constant presence of Stella around her, because something bothered me in that look of the red-haired woman who seemed not to like me, although s

By CatherineWe were silent when we saw our families approach us with smiles that barely fit their lips. Everyone seemed very satisfied with the success of the occasion."Are you leaving already?" my father asked."Yes! Catherine is tired, and I confess that I am too." Hector replied calmly. "I think we can already make the traditional getaway without having to say goodbye to these boring people that you insisted on inviting."He smiles in the very delicate way that Hector referred to the guests by our parents. I had to admit, he was a brave man, and that was one of the things I liked most about him. Even knowing that he would be criticized for the way he stood, he often had the courage to do or say things that I just silenced, but fully agreed with him."Behave yourself, son." My father-in-law scolded his son, who just shrugged and seemed to care. "It was important that they participate in this moment.""I wonder how much." Hector rolled his eyes and gave him a light elbow to scold h

By CatherineSince we left Hector’s parents' house, a silence has settled in the car. I think it was a lot to process, besides, we were too tired to say anything, but when we stopped a red light he stared at me and asked:"You and the deputy seem to have a very deep intimacy, don’t you?""We’ve been friends since we were kids. Patrick is a special friend.""Special..." she kind of repeated to herself."Yes, special as Stella seems to be to you."His eyes became frightened upon hearing my statement."What do you mean, like Stella is for me?""Aren’t you best friends? He’s also my best friend."Hector’s expression became indecipherable. Then the signal opened and he put the car back in motion."Although the impression I have is of Stella, try to have a control over you.""Bullshit! She’s just a little possessive.""Doesn’t she have a boyfriend?" I wanted to know a little more about the redhead who intrigued me.He looked at me looking confused."No!""huuuum..." By CatherineI finally went back to work after a few days at home recovering from the flu. The last few days my relationship with Hector had been strange, not a bad strange, but different. The man I had exchanged a kiss with in days past was completely different to the one I knew before I got married. We didn’t get to talk about the kiss, but Hector was getting closer every day leaving me internally confused.I heard knocking on my office door and soon my assistant’s face appeared asking permission to enter.“Mistress Catherine, I know this is very bold of me, but could you excuse me from work this afternoon?” Her expression was shy and sad. “It’s just that my mother is in hospital and she has no one to stay as her escort, she only has me.”“Of course she does, Julia.” I would never say no to a case like that. “You shouldn’t even have come today. What’s wrong with her?”“I didn’t want to miss it because I just started at the job. I can’t afford to lose this job.” She spoke shyly. “My

Catherine’s kiss was so good, her touch had hallucinated me, her mouth left me with the feeling of wanting more, and I would have easily lost myself in her body if something hadn’t screamed in my head reminding me that she wasn’t just anyone.I went downstairs ready to go to work when I bumped into Catherine and Joana in the kitchen. She was still in her pyjamas which made me immediately worried. Could it be that she hadn’t gotten any better?“Good morning!” I spoke to the two and without much thought I greeted Catherine with a kiss on her cheek.“Good morning!” The reply came in chorus.“Aren’t you going to work today? Still not feeling well? Want me to fetch something for you?”“Easy, Hector.” She spoke softly. “It’s all right, I’m not going to work because I still have quite a cold, it wouldn’t be interesting to st

Even if I had a heart of stone at that moment I couldn’t act coldly towards that man. He was being caring and loving, and I couldn’t deny to myself how happy I felt to be his priority at that moment. It wasn’t long before he returned from the shower and appeared in my room dressed in completely light and casual clothes. He smiled and I reciprocated, still admiring his muscular body. Who could resist a man like that?Hector sat next to me on the bed looking uncertain whether or not he would approach me.“Have you chosen the movie yet?” He asked.“Yes, I want to watch Love Doesn’t Take a Holiday.”He looked at me accusingly and grimaced as if I was about to commit a crime.“Romance?” He questioned.“What’s wrong with it? By HectorIt was 11 a.m. and I was still stuck in the middle of a meeting attended by my father, my father-in-law and some shareholders. In other times at that hour I would still be sleeping completely taken by the hangover result of a night of alcohol and sex. Catherine had stayed at home, as she had felt unwell in the morning, so it was up to me to pass on the information about the balance sheet of the month to everyone present.Luckily or unluckily, my mobile phone rang and my home phone number appeared. I immediately found it strange and without thinking twice I asked permission to answer the call, even under my father’s disapproving glance.“Hi Joanna, did something happen?”“Sorry to bother you Mr Hector. It’s just that Ms Catherine is in bed feeling really bad, I don’t know what else to do.” It was enough for Joana to say that for my chest to tighten. “The poor thing is burning up with fever, but she’s too stubborn, she hasn’t taken any medicine and she can’t eat anything eithe

We arrived at the place and a chill in my stomach hit me, na anxiety to see the woman I was married to made me practically resort to the stairs, waiting for the lift was too much time wasted.“You’re nervous.” Daiana stated as she looked at me. “I never thought I would see you like this.”“Like this?” I asked not understanding what she meant by that.“Yeah, like this all excited to see my cousin.”She didn’t ask, Daiana was simply stating what I was trying to hide, it made me uncomfortable. The fact that I was being too transparent was new to me, who always knew how to hide my emotions very well.“I just want to resolve this situation.
