"Everyone take your seats."
She ordered in an authoritative tone which no one can disobey. The living room was divided into four sections. Three of them for three families and one for Helena Watson. Helena walked toward the lavish single couch which was specially made and designed for her only.
Everyone sat down. Sarah was sitting beside her mother while her mother was sitting between her and her father.
Helena gave all of them a small nod before starting the meeting.
"So, almost all of us know why we all gathered here today. Yet I would like to address the issue again." She started saying. Sarah fisted her hands and gritted her teeth when such an important topic of her life was being subjected as 'an issue'.
"It's about the news of Sarah's marriage!"
"The heck is it about?!" Jordan shrieked out as soon as he heard He
Leave me reviews and gems!
"That's insane, grandma! Are you in the right state of your mind? How can you even think of something like this?!" Jordan exclaimed in frustration while looking at everyone in disbelief. Apart from him, no one said anything nor did they protest which frustrated him even more. "Jordan, calm down. It's our matter. Let us handle this." Sarah said with a lot of difficulty while looking down. Jordan scoffed at her after hearing her. He knew that she wasn't happy at all with all the things happening but like the good daughter and sacrificer she is, she didn't say a word against it or for her defence. He looked at her parents. "Uncle John? At least you say something? How did you keep quiet after hearing something like this and even agreed to it?! It's so unfair! Here your only daughter is married to a driver? Didn't you think she deserves much more than that? Also, why only her? Why not Samantha or Natas
"Yes, Mary? What's the status?" Sarah asked while walking toward her car after she walked out of the mansion. Mary is her secretary, also her best friend. They aren't friends from college days or anything because Sarah didn't have time to make friends or socialize. She was well known as the nerd throughout her high school and college days. But puberty hit hard when she raised beautifully as well as successfully and all those who called her names felt an invisible slap on their faces. Whatever she and Mary met when Sarah badly needed a hard-working and dedicated secretary and Mary needed a sincere and 'reasonable' boss. At last, they both were the perfect match for each other and they clicked immediately. Them being of the same age also helped a lot. Apart from boss and secretary or friends, they also fulfilled their duties toward each other as great advisors. At this moment, Sarah could use some of her advice right now.
The Next Day "Hello, ma'am. How can I come to your service today?" Elijah asked as he stood in front of Helena Watson with his head down. "Oh, Elijah. Did you come? Good. Come and have a seat!" Helena invited her into his office while he stood in front of the table with an obedient look on his face. "It's fine, ma'am Helena, I prefer standing in front of you." He replied which made Helena smirk to herself in pride because of the respect she is getting from him. Helena Watson is a woman of pride. She likes to be the centre of attraction. She always wants the spotlight on her only but obviously in positive ways. So, she likes it when someone praises her, butter her, respect her, and be submissive in front of her. It gives fire to her ego. "As you prefer." Helena nodded at her and gave him a small nod. His head was held up but he wasn't looking in her eye
"I really appreciate you coming on time." Sarah said while looking away from him as she couldn't find anything else to say. It's been more than five minutes since he entered the room. But none of them said a single word yet. Elijah kept standing by the door with an emotionless e
"To clear things off?" "Yes." She answered with a nod and sat up straight. She sat properly while facing him and smiled at me. "You thought exactly what I thought you would think about me." She said with a small chuckle. Elijah was confused would be an understatement. He was more than that. He was feeling offensive seeing her casual attitude. He thought her to be like every other rich and spoiled girl. He thought her to be like a 'true Watson'. But was she here to prove him wrong? "You know what? I actually thought a lot from the time I heard the news of… you know, Helena's wish, I thought a lot. I thought of what's happening in my life. I was angry when we got married. I thought the right of choosing my life partner was taken away from me. I felt like my freedom was taken away and I blamed you for it initially but never for once I thought low of you because of your professi
He couldn't believe that she was so mature yet so childish at the same time. This time it was his time to smile as he gave her hand an assuring squeeze. "As you said before, it's not like I have any other options." He said with a small playful eye roll which made her laugh. "We are great friends already!" She said and he just smiled at her. "Can I ask you some questions?" He asked in an unsure tone while withdrawing his hand. He already started to miss the warmth of her soft hand. He could always hold those hands and never be tired. What's happening to him? Why was he feeling like this? He wasn't supposed to feel like this. Not now! It's going to ruin everything. Everything. He can't let that happen but what is he going to do? He seems to lose it every time she smiles at him. "Oh, I am so sorry! I totally forgot that you might have so
"Sorry, to interrupt you, ma'am. But you have a really important meeting in half an hour." Mary said as she entered the room after getting permission from Sarah. Sarah looked at her in confusion. She doesn't remember having any meeting in half an hour. She was supposed to go to her father's company after her meeting with Elijah was over. Nevertheless, she nodded at her and looked at Elijah with a smile.
"Hello, I have a reservation on Mr King's name." She said with the same confidence which intimidated the poor receptionist a little. Yet she acted as professional as she could and smiled at her. "Yes, ma'am. Please give me the honour of showing you the table." She said and started to walk toward a table at the far corner of the room, by the window. She found the table empty when she reached it. She looked at her hand watch and saw that it was two minutes past half-past eleven. She took her seat, facing the entrance and decided to select some designs to show the person who is going to meet her today on behalf of Mr King. She was going through her tab for the designs when she heard someone tapping on the glass table. She looked up thinking it was her client but frowned a little in confusion after finding Elijah standing in front of her. She stood up. "Hi..? Did you want to say
"Where is she?""How is she?""How did this happen?""I want to see her!"Four different voices exclaimed as they all made an entry at the same time. Elijah, who was lost in deep thoughts, came back to the world and looked at them in a little shock. There was Jonah, Mary, Nick and Natasha who one after another said and asked those things. All of their faces were filled with worry and fear. But among them, Natasha's expression surprised him a lot. It looks like she cried on her way here. She was that scared for Sarah! Unbelievable!"Elijah? Back to earth and tell us what happened here?!" Natasha exclaimed once again as she shook him.He looked at her with a small frown looking at the closed hospital door with a clenched jaw."Sarah is in there,
“Where is Sarah?” Elijah asked with a frown as he looked around the room, looking for her frantically. “Who are you looking for, sir?” A doctor asked in confusion after coming forward. “Sarah! Where is she?” Elijah asked in a panicked tone as he just remembered her. He remembered that she didn’t sound good when they were talking on the phone. She must be in some danger. He felt like beating himself up for forgetting about her. “Who is Sarah, sir?” The doctor asked in a fearful tone. “The one who called me to inform me about Eliana! She was here. I heard you guys when we were on a call. Where is she now?” He asked at the top of his voice. The doctor got scared once again. “We didn’t see anyone when we came here, sir. We got busy with Miss Eliana as soon as we entered the room.” The doctor said and he let out a frustrated groan. “Only god
Elijah felt like his whole body was going to turn cold in anticipation and fear. He tried to call Sarah quite a few times. It kept ringing but no one picked it up. He called the guards as well but no one was picking up the call. He gritted his teeth hard in anger. He was going to kill all of them. He reached the hospital and ran inside it, leaving the car unattended, without parking. He ran toward the elevator to find it taking longer to come down as usual but he didn't have much time. So, he ran toward the stairs to take it to reach the floor where his sister was. Hopefully Sarah was there too. "Oh god! Please let both of them be safe. They both mean a lot to me. They are my everything. Please god. I have begged you for a lot of time but he never showed any mercy but please just this one." He prayed loudly and frantically as he ran upstairs. He was breathless by the time he reached the floor. His heart start
Sarah forgot about everything else at that moment and walked toward the hospital room as fast as she could. She came to meet Eliana. She was supposed to stay there with Eliana for a few minutes before going to the office. She had a really important meeting today which she can't postpone or delay anymore because that's going to mess up her schedule. As she neared the room, she suddenly felt a bad energy coming from the room. The feeling was nerve wracking. It made her heart beat badly, for some negative vibe. She felt so scared suddenly and she didn't know why she was feeling so but it made her want to curl in some corner. It was so so bad! She slowly advanced to the room where Eliana was. Her heart was still beating crazily while her leg was wobbling. Her hand was shaking as she put her hand on the handle. She took some deep breaths. She looked back at the guards and they were still looking at their front with no expressions on their fac
THE NEXT MORNING "Good morning, beautiful." Sarah rolled her eyes at his new nickname and cheekiness. "Good morning, Mr King. Can you please tell me where you find such nicknames every new day?" Sarah asked with a sigh while walking through the hospital corridor. "Well, that's for me to know and you to find out." He said with the same level of cheekiness. She shook her head at him. "How are you today?" He asked after a few seconds. "I am good." She answered in a casual tone. "Are you happy?" He asked once again, making her confused. "Why are you asking that?" She asked with a raised eyebrow which obviously he couldn't see. "Well, you got your husband, your love." He stated and she let out a chuckle. "I am not even going to ask
"What is this man doing here? I just lost my appetite!" Samantha exclaimed like a spoiled brat as soon as she saw Elijah sitting on the dining table. Sarah frowned at her while holding Elijah's hand under the table. But she didn't say anything. "What's there to lose appetite, Samantha? Because as far as I remember about your desert preferences a few months ago-..." Natasha couldn't complete her sentence as Samantha's glare shut her up so she just smirked at her in reply. "Don't you think you have started talking too much these days? Are you sure it's good for your health and peace?" Samantha asked Natasha in a mean tone. "Oh don't worry about my health and peace. I belong to the group of those people who ruin other people's health and peace. So, I know how to protect mine well." Natasha replied back sassily while smirking at Samantha while Samantha was fuming in anger.
"Hello, Jordan. I am very happy to see you but I would have been happier if you had knocked before entering the room." Helena said in pure sarcasm, making Jordan wonder from where does this woman get all this humour. But he was too furious to care about that at that moment. "That bastard is playing a double game with us." He growled in fury as he slammed on the sofa where Elijah was seated previously. "Who are you talking about? And why do you sound so furious?" Helena asked, suddenly getting serious. "I am talking about your so-called master pawn! That damn driver, Elijah. He is playing some double game with us and that makes me furious." He said with gritted teeth, making her look at him with a deeper frown. "What are you talking about?" She asked in a blank tone. "I was just outside the door when you were talking with him." He said and before
ON THE OTHER SIDE "May I come in, ma'am?" Elijah knocked on the door. "Come in, Elijah." Helena spoke up with a small and it creeped Elijah so bad that he felt a shiver run past his spine. He kept his face blank as he got inside the room. It wasn't her office room this time, it was her bedroom. It made the situation more awkward for Elijah. He didn't close the door behind him this time. "Good evening, ma'am." He greeted her politely and she nodded at him with the same smile. "Very good evening, Elijah. I am seeing you after so long. How are you?" She asked in a tone as if she was his biggest well-wisher. "Thank you for asking, ma'am. I am good. I hope the same for you." He said in a low tone while looking down on the floor. "I am good as well, as you can see." She said with a smile. "Why don't you take a seat?" She as
"Now, tell me, what's going on?" Sarah asked as soon as they were inside Natasha's room and closed the door behind. They both took a seat on her bed and Sarah patiently waited for Natasha to open her mouth. But she sat there silently, looking down at her hands, without letting out a single word. Sarah looked at her with a worried frown. "Natasha? Is everything alright?" She asked slowly, in a tone filled with nothing but worry."I don't know, Sarah. My life is in a mess currently and I don't know what to do." Natasha said in agony while breaking down completely. Sarah's eyes widened and she was quick to lean forward and hug her tightly."Oh my god, Natasha! Please don't cry. Everything is going to be alright. Please stop crying." Sarah cooed in a caring tone while rubbing her back soothingly to calm her down.Natasha cried hugging Sarah back, without saying anything and Sarah understood that she needed time.
