I walked into the dining room, my lips curved into a forced smile as I greeted the men at the table. "Good morning, Adam, Dylan, Albert," I said, my voice cheerful despite the storm raging inside me. "And hello to you too, Ephraim."

The men chatted amicably, their words light and airy, but I didn't meet Adam's eyes. The rage and betrayal he had caused still burned hot within me, and I refused to let him see how much he had hurt me.

"Hey, don't be surprised if I start dating Charlotte again," Dylan smirked, the words dripping with malice. "I mean, Eleanor is carrying Adam's baby now, so I guess I'm free to do whatever I want."

The air in the room grew heavy with tension, the atmosphere crackling with the unsaid.

Albert, raised his hand, a warning in his gaze. "Enough, Dylan. Not now."
