Chapter One Hundred and Ten

JASON

I walked into the office feeling tired and exhausted as hell. I didn’t sleep a wink the previous night, and it was telling on me.

Tyler and Jane had retired to their room, leaving I and Elena alone. Even Lucinda at some point, had disappeared to go get some rest.

I had tried to talk to Elena, but the guilt was still there so I pretended to sleep, and just lay in the bed all night, listening to her as she turned and turned uncomfortably in the bed, until finally, she had slept off.

This morning though, I had given the excuse of going earlier to just to check up on the new security team we had assembled for the office. I knew the employees were going to murmur and wonder what was going on, but I wasn’t going to give them any kind of answer whatsoever.

I knew we were close to catching who the culprit was. And then our lives could go back to normal.

Well, probably.
