"Good luck to her." I spat

"Jessamy, really?" She asked again.

"Yes, she is my mother."I knodded.

"She is....that is why she hates mother!" One plus one was finally becoming two in her head.

She paced from one side of the cell to the other, she was restless and then suddenly she stopped in front of me ; "That is why she hates mother so much! I couldn't understand, mother wouldn't tell me and she lied about so many things..."She mummbled under her breath and then exclaimed ; "The deathdogs! I am not sure, but I think Mother is using you as bait to lure Jessamy. She wants to kill anyone who could possibly stop her from getting the crown."

"What the hell? Deathdogs? Where did she get them?!" I was starting to worry now. One was a problem, but two was almost a certain death sentence. The only creature that does not fear a death dog is a dragon. It was almost like going up against hell hounds. Hell hounds were a certain death, but with dogs of death, you did not stand much more

I was on a ship, not any ship it looked like a pirates ship. The ship was filled with the hussle and bussle of the crew members working at their jobs. I could hear someone calling captain but did not realise they were talking to me at first. It was a big, african man with the kindest eyes. He called again, and when I met his eyes, I realised he was talking to me. I was the captain. He looked like he was my first mate, the second in charge. He rubbed over his ear, the golden earing gleaming in the sunlight. "Captain, there is a mermaid." He said. By the look he gave me, it was not the first time he said it either. I walked down towards him, where he was standing by the railing. He pointed to a spot in the water disturbed by a ripple. I was looking at nothing but water. I was about to turn back to him when I saw the movement under the surface, and then she appeared. She was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Her wet black hair clung to her pale white face, her yello

A door hitting a wall with a bang awoke me from my dream. The poison was already working its way out of my system. I was confused at my surroundings. The dream it felt so real, so vivid, and then it hit me. This was not a dream but a memory. A memory I blocked out many, many years ago. It was during one of my rebel stages. It came back to me in a flash, I remembered that she was surprised that she didn't die because her dream of saving her family came true. She started to hope that the curse did not take and that she was free at last. I, however, had a nagging suspicion that that was not exactly the dream the curse was about. I suspected that it was one dream that everyone shared, even those who claimed not to. The dream to find your true love, your person. I regret never telling her what I suspected, but deep down, I hoped she was right. I taught her how to use utensils, how to walk and dance, and then when she allowed herself to love, she was gone. It was as I suspecte

"Tell me..." "Jessamy!" Victorianna exclaimed, "What are you doing here?" "Debt collecting, is it not obvious? So, what is your evil scheme this time!" I demanded as that bitch walked into the room. I was sitting on her window sill. My aspect was crackling around us, and she could feel it. She lost control over her aspect and it came over her. "You know, the open favor or whish blah blah..." "I remember, no need to remind me." "I would hope that you remembered, as per the royal decree, all debts must be paid." I said sarcastically. I knew that she didn't have the decency to keep to any decree or law as she thought herself above everyone and everything. "I want an audience with my son." I demanded. "Is that all?" she asked, shocked. "Of course not. You will let him go free." I ordered. "That I will not do!" She yelled. Her temper was getting the best of her. "Well, then." I was on her. My extended nails were digging into the flesh at her throat. Suddenly, I felt a

I didn't open my eyes to see his reaction. He knew this was the end just as well as I did. There was an antivenom to a death dogs bite, but with the extent of my injuries, not even that would have saved me. There is a chemical in their bites that prevent you from healing even with the antivenom. So I did the one thing I could do for now. I told him a story; "I was born in the year 482 as a human girl. I can not remember much from then because I was murdered in the year 500. My muder went horribly wrong. Instead of dying as I should have. I was reborn as this blood thirsty monster. Now, in those years, there was no romantisising of monsters in the human world. If you were different, you were killed. Being different caused humans not to understand. Humans fear what they can not understand or explain. Fear will corrupt all rational thoughts and actions." I realised I was rattling off. "The years went by in a flash, I had to survive without being discovered and I had al

  • An Angels Betrayal    Chapter 57 : Draco

In the few days passing since Scales and I relocated to the nesting grounds, I have not seen the Scarlet Red Dragon above Endresomera. And at last, I made peace with myself, with the help and constant berating of Scales, that the reason I relocated here was to at least see her. Even from a distance would be enough. I wanted to apologise for just leaving her there and for how I treated her. I knew that I would not be able to until she allowed me, but if I could just see her. I have never wanted a female to approve of me as much as I wanted her approval. I do not like it, not even a little bit. I had a nagging feeling that she was my mate, but I wouldn't know for sure until I met her away from Férémonté. There was a curse on Férémonté that made it a deadmans land, and that is why it became the banished lands. I tried to contact her multiple times via mindlink but could never make a connection, or she was blocking all mindlinks. It made it harder because I didn't know her

That evening, I made my way to Endresomera. I scanned the area and didn't see anyone on lookout duty. (Vigo must be on lookout duty tonight). I moved swiftly and carefully to my parents' place. No one was there, I felt a pang of guilt and worry bubbling up inside me. I could see there were traces of someone who lived there recently. But there was no one living there for a while, though. That worried me. My parents would never leave this house. A noise from deeper inside the house caught my attention. I quickly moved through the kitchen. When the most awful smell coming from the freezer distracted me. I knew I should not inspect it, but curiousity overpowered me. I needed to take know. I was instantly sorry about it. The awful smell escaped the prison of the freezer and filled the kitchen. There was no mistaking the smell of rotten flesh and that certain chemical smell that could only come from one killer. Death Dogs killed this poor girl... but why is she in my parents' freez

I was feeling woozy, and my head felt thick as the spotlight fell on me again. He readily and excitedly introduced himself as the spotlight fell on him. Cornelius always had one or other money making scheme and since he was in Victorianna's corner, he had a god complex. The darkness that filled him was palpable. With the god complex, it just became worse. It affected everything he touched. And hit was getting worse every day. Magic was his birth right, his talent, his passion, his occupation, and without it, he would be nothing. In between everything, I overheard that Victorianna was in his debt for something, and that is why he was untouchable. He would put a spell on me every time before we went on stage to ensure that I would not ruin his show or try and out him. He would use me and abuse me in any way he needed to do his show, and then I would disappear into a trap door when I was no longer of use. As a joke, I would fall without the ability to stop myself or brace m

Dentorion and Eric, this is who this guy reminded me off but it could not be. Dentorion was dead. The thing that disturbed me was the fact that he looked a lot like Eric as well. Eric, with white hair and taller, but the resemblance was there. This must be Dentorions son, the one that my dad warned me about. I can not remember exactly what my dad said except for the fact that the only thing people knew about him was that he was evil but no one really knew him because we was gone for a very, very long time. Some even thought that he was dead. "Why imagine getting down and dirty with me when you actually can?" he said with a smug smile and sent a wink my way. He opened his arms suggestively whilst walking towards me "I would not 'get down and dirty' with you if you were the last fucking person." I said turning back to the fridge. "What about the last vampire in our world?" "That is what I meant dumb ass." "What about the last vampire in our and the human world?" "Nope." "What

It was a circle of enemies facing each other. The sad part was that it was not only enemies but neighbors, friends, and even families facing each other. Everyone thinking their on the right side, even a few that were unsure. The hesitation clear in their eyes. On the other side, there were even those who you could see didn't want to be there. They were just too scared to leave. Then there were those who were hungry for blood, hatred coursing through their entire being. Waiting for chaos to break loose. Lusting for the kill. The slaughter. It was interesting how you could notice the different species by their armor. The vampires only conceal the most intimate parts with leathery armor. The elves covered in the most beautiful robes, with patterns of vines and symbols covering them. The shifters were wearing armor specifically to be discarded easily when required to shift. On most, there were a symbol of their pack or herd on their chest. Others didn't have them. Then th

I awoke to a powerful wave of excitement. Eventhough I knew I shouldn’t be excited because the end result of this battle may be completely devastating, ruining hundreds of people and creatures life's but it could end in victory and I could avenge my father as well as save hundreds of lives. My door creaked open slowly, and a soft tip toe echoed in the room, and then the person jumped on my bed. He jumped a few times and then sat on me. I switched on the light. Thentos grinned a real naughty Thentos grin. "Excited much?" He asked, placing his hands next to my head and leaning down slightly. "You most definitely are." A blush coloured his tanned skin slightly, and I could see just how gorgeous he was once again. His black hair was longer now almost to his shoulder blades and pulled into a ponytail, strings of it still covering his face. "Don't get used to it." He shrugged and rolled over. Laying next to me."Not in your wildest dreams." I smiled, but inside, I felt horribly

  • An Angels Betrayal    Chapter 76 : Eric POV

I have been alone in this dungeon for..... I lost count after the first few weeks. It was hard keeping track of days if you couldn't be sure whether it was night or day. I haven't had any company since they took my mother away. The only person who entered was the guard who brought me a blood bag... just enough to keep me alive but weak every couple of days. The door swung open to reveal Enrickio, I knew I was supposed to be angry, but all I could feel was relief. It has been so long without conversation or interaction that I was going insane in my solitude. I saw the pain in his eyes and recognized it immediately. I have only seen that once before, and that is when he had his heart broken. I felt sorry for him. That is the only pain he feels. He closed the door behind him and sat on the chair in the darkest corner. He sat there for a moment or two before breaking the silence; "Tomorrow is the day." He sighed. I could see that he didn't care about the battle tomorrow, a

When the morning broke, we jumped to work. The wings were still there, and even after hours of work with William, it still didn't go away. William didn't confirm it when I suggested that I was stuck, but he did say that we should take a break. I didn't tell them, but I had the nagging suspicion that something went wrong with that ass hats spell, and that is why I couldn't shift, but I was under the spell for a very long time. So maybe just maybe in time I will get...unstuck. For now, I had to get used to these damned things. William and Thentos contacted all the people who were willing to fight on our side. No one was forced or cohorts into fighting with us. We amazingly had about two hundred willing warriors from all species and races who joined our ranks, even vampires who did not agree with Victorianna's future or the manner of getting there. I found out the entire family of the little girl deflected from Victorianna's side after they found out what happened to their dau

Thentos looked at me confused, I pointed to my head, trying to tell him that whoever it was was speaking inside my head. William raised his finger to get our attention and pointed to the woods. There was a figure just at the border. "Zzz-i-n-n-ia, I know you're there." This time, he said it aloud. "Come out and play." A young girl came running out of the jungle. Blood was streaming down her face. Tears, she was a young vamp girl, and she was crying. Her eyes focused on me. Fear, hurt, and betrayal flickered through her eyes. I needed to do something, she was suffering and I needed to do something about it. "There is a playmate for you. Come out and play. You are, in a matter of fact, a mere child." The voice sounded sarcastic. Before the girl reached us, a black tentical closed around her wrist. She screamed out in pain, and the scent of flesh burning could be smelt. Blood started dripping from the area. Purple marks started appearing around the tentical. I started

I pulled away slightly to look into those beautiful warm eyes. "Hey baby," I said, smiling He kissed me on the forehead, and I could see the relief in his eyes. Underneath all that was pain. I could see that he didn't want to talk about it. That was good because neither did I. I had too many questions, and now was not the time or place for it. "I am so glad I found you." He smiled "So now we can elope." He teased. "Come on darling, let's run away forever." I went along with it. We turned away and ran. Ran till we reached the gates he turned to me suddenly and seriously. The whole way, we were silent, not talking about what happened to any of us or what I saw or what I would find. "Nia." He turned to me. "I need to warn you." "Don't." I whispered because I knew what he would say. I knew he would try to warn me about William being in mourning for his mate and baby. How our world has changed. I could feel the evil and darkness in the air, just standing at th

My breath caught in my throat. I couldn't believe this. I wanted to pounce him and ravage him, but I couldn't. This beast was Victorianna's son. When will the act stop? When will he change from the knight in shining armor back to the monster he allegedly is? I couldn’t tell him I knew and I couldn't tell him I might be in love with him too (OMF! Where the hell did that come from? You don't love him! You should be in love with Eric, but....no! I am seriously suffering from Stockholm Syndrome!""I..." I stopped his eyes were waiting for my answer. Longing filled them, and I knew my answer would most probably cause my death.(You have nothing to loose.) The thaught hit me. I suppressed it at first, but it came back. (It's true you can't return to your mother. You don't have a father, and you're considering your feelings for Eric and Enrickio. Justine just died.)I pondered about it for a while. (I have Thentos and William....who need me now....or do they?)I took a deep bre

He led me to the garden cabin behind the house. Inside was a young girl clenching her side in pain. Blood seeped through her fingers because of her wound. I would know this girl anywhere; "Shila?"Her white-haired head shot up at the sound of my voice. I could see the longing in her faded green eyes. It made me want to disappear. She disgusted me. Her fragile demeanor will at first trick you into wanting to protect her. Wanting to love and get to know her, but once you do, she changes into a bloodthirsty monster."Thentos." She pleaded and started crawling towards me, but the look on my face must have said everything because she stopped and just let her head hung for a second before looking up again."What are you doing here?""I...I ...I was passing by when..." She stuttered at first."Stop lying! Why were you part of the..."I didn't want to say assassination, I wanted to say murder, but I could not get the words out."Because..." She hissed."Because what?" He took her from me and disappeared down the corridor to their room. I wasn't sure what to do and I didn't want to leave him alone so I followed him into their room. The baby was asleep on their bed between two pillows, and he was busy running bath water in the onsuite. "What is her name?" I asked, wanting to make conversation. I could not stand quiet. "I haven't decided yet. She always wanted to name our first born Zinnia out of respect, but I always liked Jennavive." "Why Jennavive?" "Her full names were Justine Jenavive Dijon." The longing for her could be heard as he said her name. "She wanted to call her Zinnia out of respect for the king?" I confirmed. "Yes, may his soul rest in peace." He whispered the latter. I wondered as I stared into the innocence of her face. The poor baby had no idea what she had lost and what was to come next. In a way, I envied her peaceful innocence. "Jennavive Nicole Dijon, Nia Jennavive Dijon, Zinnavive Justine..." I trailed off a
