Enrickio!” I wanted to sound strong, but it escaped my throat as a croacked cough. At the sight of him, I could feel my Other surfacing, running over me, my teeth jutting out immediately.

I came to the entrance of Pantelleria a few minutes back but decided to do a quick border check before moving on. When I returned to the entrance, I saw him here lounging against one of the trees.

“Little brother!” He sounded excited, but that mocking tone was clear in every word. He did not bother to hide it.

“What are you doing here?” My words didn’t fully come out like it should have because of my teeth. I have been out of practice for far too long.

“I came to see you, little brother.” He smiled delightedly.

I slowly retract my fangs.

“Isn’t it true that you turned 300 a few, o today! Happy birthday, little brother.”

“Thanks, I guess.” I said carefully.

“So where’s the party.”

“Not having one.”

“O' that’s too bad. I really hoped to meet that little dove of yours.” He winked and stood up

The only thing I could hear above the vibrating zoom in my head was the breathing around me. I didn’t want to open my eyes just yet, I didn’t want to get up. The liquid on my chin and under my nose grew sticky and really irritating. I resisted the urge to wipe at my face because I didn’t want them to know that I was awake. Why are they in my room? What happened last night? I couldn’t remember right now, but I felt the pieces of shattered memory coming back slowly like a complex puzzle. With every memory grieve leaked back. My heart started to pump faster like the grief was driving it. The zooming in my head louder and growing even more, with every piece fitted. I don’t know how long it took for my memory to come back but when I had all of it back I didn’t want it anymore, what I felt before was nothing what I felt now was like living in hell. The tears burned behind my eyelids, tears I fought to keep back, my breath increasing with every intake, my heart burning. I could f

After the big hoohah, getting signed in as Nicole Black and getting my timetable, Thentos went with me to the girls' changing room for physical training. The clothes we got wasn’t bad. I had a pair of black trousers and a blue training top, just the right size. When I walked out the door, Thentos fell in next to me. He looked me over and smiled approvingly. We walked in silence until a dark skinned boy came running towards us. “Thentos! Thentos!” he waved, trying to get his attention. Thentos pulled me to a stop as the boy came closer. “Hey Thentos.” He said with a huge smile. “Hey Stuttgart.” Thentos greeted with a smile. “Who is this gorgeous young lady?” He winked at me. When I shot him a glance, he quickly threw his hands up. “Sorry.” “Don’t worry about it she’s always this uptight.” Thentos said with a barking noice. Stuttgart burst out laughing. He had a really nice smile and with his dark complextion his teeth looked really pearly white and his black, long, brai

We rolled over and over, then something I didn’t expect happened; the bloody bitch bit me. I felt disgusted and violated. My surprise subsided, and I took the hilt of my sword, hitting her on the head until she let go of me, and in one motion, I got back onto my feet. She got up and ran to her sword. Without thinking twice, she ran toward me with full speed. I saw her readying herself and her sword to deliver a fatal blow. Without hesitantion, I went into defence mode; legs apart, both hands on the hilt, my eyes focused on her and the weapon. Then it fell. A deafening sound of metal against metal echoed over the training grounds and echoed back. I could feel people starring. The blow sent me a few steps back, and I concentrated on keeping her sword away from my face, a new sensation awakened inside me. I pushed with everything in me only to let her stagger one step backwards, but it gave me enough room to take one step back. Then the cling and clang of two swords kissing, back an

I was drenched in sweat when I woke up. The fire inside of me has reached its peak – I hoped. Because every part of my body was on fire from the tips of my hair to my toes. Every now and again, it felt like the fire would extinguish until a small wind blows past and lid it up again. I couldn’t stop a moan from escaping between my lips, my eyes flew open, and I could see Enrickio leaning against a tree, smiling down at me. I rolled onto my stomach, the fire flaring up with every movement, but I had to get up, I just had to. I slowly lifted myself onto my knees, and then, with a huge effort, I straightened my back and legs. As soon as I was up, I wanted to go lie down again, I wanted to close my eyes until the pain subsided, but I couldn’t, I wouldn’t. I had to get to Zinnia before they did. I couldn’t run or fight yet, even though I wanted to kill him. The fire within me demanded control of my body and started burning faster and with more determination, but I wasn’t about to give

I was on my way to my last period, history, when Thentos came walking towards me. It was really getting on my nerves, that he was everywhere at anytime. On the other hand it was kind of nice, knowing that I was not alone for once in my life. I waited for him and when he reatched me I started walking again. “How was class?” “I actually enjoyed it. It was really interesting. Did you know Shifter can shift into anything out every animal group for the first month or so until you find your other?” He smiled clearly, amused at my reaction to this new school. “Yes, I did know that.” “Really old, pure blood, trained shifters can change into anything they see in front of them.” I told him even though I knew he would know, I was still amazed by what I just learned. “Thentos, Nia!” My nickname catched on quickly. I looked around and pulled Thentos to a stop as we waited for Stuttgart. He was smiling brightly, his gorgeous eyes focused on us. “History?” We knodded and

“You know it’s bullshit! She can’t choose, but it isn’t even a rule or law or anything. It’s just something the dragonshifters decided under themselves. She wasn’t even part of this decision. It's her life she should be able to choose… she should have a choice to choose the mate bond.” A ripple went through him and another. His body was busy transforming in front of me and suddenly with a tear and snap of bones. A huge black wolf stood in front of me. Tensing and relaxing. He just stood there, deciding. I hoped the animal instinct wouldn’t take over because then I’m kind of in big trouble, with al that anger and hurt coursing through his body anyone would be. I had no doubt about that. I slowly took a step closer to him and placed my hand on what once was his shoulder. His head swung around instantly, a growl excaping from between his clenched jaw. “Don’t do it.” I whispered “Everything will work out if it’s meant to be… relax …breath.” Air burst out of my lungs that I didn’t r

When I said goodbye to Stuttgart, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I knew I had to, but I was just not ready to say goodbye for what may be forever, I knew I wasn’t ready for all of this; my school, my relationships to end. And that new girl, Nia, there was something about her that’s not quite right. I understood why I had to leave and why I should marry Vigo, and yes, it is a valid point ou Elders make. We are noble and almost extinct, but why Vigo? Even though he wasn’t too hard to look at even maybe handsome to some, his pride got the better of him. He had a reason to be proud, there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed, and he crossed it a long time ago, and his attitude reeks. He was entitled and full of prejudices. He gets on my every last nerve and is one of the stupidest men whom I have met. If I could, I would fry him and be done with it all.It just hurt to know that I would not be able to spend my life with my true mate. My sacrifice will enable a new line of Dragonshif

I watched her as she jumped off of the balcony and as her wings unfurled. Admiring her beauty; her scarlet red wings tipped with black. A Shape Shifter can unfortunately not shift into a dragon unless they are a dragonshifter. She looked at home, gliding through the open sky. I couldn’t think of a place where I belonged like that. Only once in my life did I feel at home, and that too was ripped out of my hands. I couldn’t see myself feeling like that in the near future. For a moment, I was jealous. She really was a sight to behold but that feeling of peace and tranquillity, I longed for. I was consumed with my thoughts and feelings when suddenly, a sound brought my attention back from my moment of self-pity. When I turned around, a scream escaped from between my lips. In front of me stood a short female with shimmering, copper eyes, with long, dark brown hair that cascaded down her back until underneath her buttocks. Her dark, blood tainted lips pulled up into a feral smi

  • An Angels Betrayal    Chapter 76 : Eric POV

I have been alone in this dungeon for..... I lost count after the first few weeks. It was hard keeping track of days if you couldn't be sure whether it was night or day. I haven't had any company since they took my mother away. The only person who entered was the guard who brought me a blood bag... just enough to keep me alive but weak every couple of days. The door swung open to reveal Enrickio, I knew I was supposed to be angry, but all I could feel was relief. It has been so long without conversation or interaction that I was going insane in my solitude. I saw the pain in his eyes and recognized it immediately. I have only seen that once before, and that is when he had his heart broken. I felt sorry for him. That is the only pain he feels. He closed the door behind him and sat on the chair in the darkest corner. He sat there for a moment or two before breaking the silence; "Tomorrow is the day." He sighed. I could see that he didn't care about the battle tomorrow, a

  • An Angels Betrayal    Chapter 75

When the morning broke, we jumped to work. The wings were still there, and even after hours of work with William, it still didn't go away. William didn't confirm it when I suggested that I was stuck, but he did say that we should take a break. I didn't tell them, but I had the nagging suspicion that something went wrong with that ass hats spell, and that is why I couldn't shift, but I was under the spell for a very long time. So maybe just maybe in time I will get...unstuck. For now, I had to get used to these damned things. William and Thentos contacted all the people who were willing to fight on our side. No one was forced or cohorts into fighting with us. We amazingly had about two hundred willing warriors from all species and races who joined our ranks, even vampires who did not agree with Victorianna's future or the manner of getting there. I found out the entire family of the little girl deflected from Victorianna's side after they found out what happened to their dau

Thentos looked at me confused, I pointed to my head, trying to tell him that whoever it was was speaking inside my head. William raised his finger to get our attention and pointed to the woods. There was a figure just at the border. "Zzz-i-n-n-ia, I know you're there." This time, he said it aloud. "Come out and play." A young girl came running out of the jungle. Blood was streaming down her face. Tears, she was a young vamp girl, and she was crying. Her eyes focused on me. Fear, hurt, and betrayal flickered through her eyes. I needed to do something, she was suffering and I needed to do something about it. "There is a playmate for you. Come out and play. You are, in a matter of fact, a mere child." The voice sounded sarcastic. Before the girl reached us, a black tentical closed around her wrist. She screamed out in pain, and the scent of flesh burning could be smelt. Blood started dripping from the area. Purple marks started appearing around the tentical. I started

I pulled away slightly to look into those beautiful warm eyes. "Hey baby," I said, smiling He kissed me on the forehead, and I could see the relief in his eyes. Underneath all that was pain. I could see that he didn't want to talk about it. That was good because neither did I. I had too many questions, and now was not the time or place for it. "I am so glad I found you." He smiled "So now we can elope." He teased. "Come on darling, let's run away forever." I went along with it. We turned away and ran. Ran till we reached the gates he turned to me suddenly and seriously. The whole way, we were silent, not talking about what happened to any of us or what I saw or what I would find. "Nia." He turned to me. "I need to warn you." "Don't." I whispered because I knew what he would say. I knew he would try to warn me about William being in mourning for his mate and baby. How our world has changed. I could feel the evil and darkness in the air, just standing at th

My breath caught in my throat. I couldn't believe this. I wanted to pounce him and ravage him, but I couldn't. This beast was Victorianna's son. When will the act stop? When will he change from the knight in shining armor back to the monster he allegedly is? I couldn’t tell him I knew and I couldn't tell him I might be in love with him too (OMF! Where the hell did that come from? You don't love him! You should be in love with Eric, but....no! I am seriously suffering from Stockholm Syndrome!""I..." I stopped his eyes were waiting for my answer. Longing filled them, and I knew my answer would most probably cause my death.(You have nothing to loose.) The thaught hit me. I suppressed it at first, but it came back. (It's true you can't return to your mother. You don't have a father, and you're considering your feelings for Eric and Enrickio. Justine just died.)I pondered about it for a while. (I have Thentos and William....who need me now....or do they?)I took a deep bre

He led me to the garden cabin behind the house. Inside was a young girl clenching her side in pain. Blood seeped through her fingers because of her wound. I would know this girl anywhere; "Shila?"Her white-haired head shot up at the sound of my voice. I could see the longing in her faded green eyes. It made me want to disappear. She disgusted me. Her fragile demeanor will at first trick you into wanting to protect her. Wanting to love and get to know her, but once you do, she changes into a bloodthirsty monster."Thentos." She pleaded and started crawling towards me, but the look on my face must have said everything because she stopped and just let her head hung for a second before looking up again."What are you doing here?""I...I ...I was passing by when..." She stuttered at first."Stop lying! Why were you part of the..."I didn't want to say assassination, I wanted to say murder, but I could not get the words out."Because..." She hissed."Because what?" I growled."

He took her from me and disappeared down the corridor to their room. I wasn't sure what to do and I didn't want to leave him alone so I followed him into their room. The baby was asleep on their bed between two pillows, and he was busy running bath water in the onsuite. "What is her name?" I asked, wanting to make conversation. I could not stand quiet. "I haven't decided yet. She always wanted to name our first born Zinnia out of respect, but I always liked Jennavive." "Why Jennavive?" "Her full names were Justine Jenavive Dijon." The longing for her could be heard as he said her name. "She wanted to call her Zinnia out of respect for the king?" I confirmed. "Yes, may his soul rest in peace." He whispered the latter. I wondered as I stared into the innocence of her face. The poor baby had no idea what she had lost and what was to come next. In a way, I envied her peaceful innocence. "Jennavive Nicole Dijon, Nia Jennavive Dijon, Zinnavive Justine..." I trailed off a

The attack was quick and efficient. There was definitely an inside man or women involved in this attack. I made another round and counted a total of 9 bodies from the attackers and 5 of our own dead and one of our own wounded. I returned to Zinnia's room, and what I came upon was a nightmare right out of a horror movie. I would never forget the sight for as long as I might live. William was holding the cold, limp Justine. He was covered in blood and mumbling some incantation over and over again. He turned towards me as I opened the door, and I felt helpless. His eyes were begging me to do something to help in some way, but there was nothing I could do. It was just not possible. There was no weapon or body close to her, I couldn't understand what could have possibly ripped her stomach open like that. Her throat was also slashed open to ensure the death of the mother and infant.I looked up at Williams, begging eyes and suddenly, his eyes went wide, and he instantly rippe

  • An Angels Betrayal    Chapter 68 : Zinnia POV

I felt the shiver run down my spine, which indicated someone was trying to communicate with me. I haven't felt that shiver in so long. On the one hand, it confirmed that the magic was fading, and I was starting to get my magic back, but on the other hand, I hated this way of communicating. It is like a gun you hold to your head to pull the trigger that separates your body from your mind. What made it worse for me was the fact that I never knew who to expect, I knew that as you get used to it there is ways to tell who it is but I was not at the caller ID stage yet. I was also not at the stage where I could decline the incoming call, as yet. Before I knew it, I was in my fathers house again. I was in my room. I was not prepared for what I saw. Justine was sitting on my bed, and she looked like she swallowed a basketball. I knew I was gapping, but I was struggling to find words, and then someone hugged me from behind. I spinned around, only to find Thentos grinning at me. He
