The next Morning

Adrian’s POV

I woke up the next morning thinking it was all a dream that my cupcake was awake and wanted me to sleep next her. When I was fully awake, I realized it wasn’t a dream my cupcake did in fact woke up and was laying peacefully next to me wrapped in my arms. I beamed with excitement but let out a quick sigh so I wouldn’t wake her. I leaned down slowly giving her a soft kiss on her forehead. She snuggled deeper into the side of my chest as I did. I was completely engulfed in her scent which made my wolf Max start to go crazy. Max, you need to calm yourself now I told him. I can’t Max said I can’t believe our mate is letting us hold and touch her as he let out a howl. You still need to calm yourself she isn’t completely used to us you will scare her if you make an appearance, I yell at him. Fine he growls and goes back to sleep.

As I just laid there with my cupcake wrapped in my arms, I had a thought on how I was going to approach her about her being my mate and future Luna. Then right before I was about to fall back asleep there was a knock on the door as quietly as possible so I wouldn’t wake her. I say come in the door slowly started to open then I realized it was Dr.Brans. Oh, good morning, Alpha I didn’t realize that Luna would still be asleep as she quietly approached. I’m just here to check on how she was doing and possibly have her discharged today.

But I see that she is still asleep so I will return later. Right before she was about to walk out, I felt my cupcake starting to stir awake. When she looked up at me, I smiled as she says good morning, Alpha Adrian. I stop her and tell her there is no need for you to call me Alpha cupcake, but there is someone here to see you. I notice her starting to panic when I tell her it’s okay cupcake it’s just Dr.Brans she’s here to see how you're feeling and possibly discharge you today.

I feel her starting to relax as she tries to lift herself up in bed. Here cupcake let me help you I tell her as I grab her back to lift her up. As soon as she was sitting up, she looks to the doctor and says good morning, Dr.Brans in the sweetest voice I’d ever heard. Good morning, Amelia how are you feeling today as Dr.Brans walks closer. I’m feeling ok just a little sore still Amelia says. Let me take a look the doctor says as I stand and move off the bed to go sit on the couch when my cupcake grab my hand and gave me a terrified look. Its ok cupcake do you want me to stand right here while the doctor checks you out, I ask her. She nods her head yes and I say ok I’ll be right here holding your hand is that okay she gives another nod. I stood there with her while the doctor checked all the monitors and listened to her heart and lungs the checked her incision from the surgery.

Well, it looks like everything is healing fine and she should be able to be discharged later on today if she’d like. Dr. Brans says before leaving the room. Are you okay cupcake I ask her, and she sweetly says yes, I’m ok just a little scared. Why are you scared cupcake I ask her. She doesn’t answer. We stand there for a few minutes in silence before I ask. Are your hungry cupcake he eyes get wide and she quickly nods her head yes, I let a small chuckle when I notice her slightly blushing. Okay I said give me just a few mins and I’ll have someone bring food up to the room. She says ok. I then start to mind link Garrett and Lucas. Garrett Lucas, I say in the mind link yes alpha they respond at the same time. Have the cook prepare breakfast and bring it up to the room your Luna is hungry. Yes, alpha they say and cut off the mind link. When I look back down, I notice a confused look on her face. Everything ok cupcake I ask her. Yes, she says but what did you just do why were your eyes fogged over she asks.

When I finally catch on to what she is asking. I take her hand and walk over to the table. When she was seated, I took the seat in front of her so I can look directly at her while trying to explain. Well, what you just saw is what happens when I mind link anyone in the pack. Right now, I had just mind linked my Beta and Gamma to have breakfast brought up. Oh, you mean Lucas and Garrett she responds yes Lucas and Garrett I respond back to her. I’ve never seen anyone mind link before she says. I look at her confusingly never I ask, and she responded with a quick nod. Now I’m in complete shock did her old pack never teach her how to be a she wolf I thought to myself.

Cupcake can I ask you a question while looking into her gorgeous emerald, green eyes. Yes, she says while looking at me. I let a deep breath and ask how old you are. As she starts thinking I notice her looking around the room. I ask what you are looking for my cupcake. She responds with a low voice a calendar. Oh, ok well I have one right here and pull out my phone. She looks at it confusingly what this she asks. That is a cell phone I tell her, and she is going through the apps on it. Oh, she says do you not have one I ask, and she shakes her head no. Ok umm do you want me to pull up the calendar for you and she slowly nods her head yes. She hands my phone back to me and I scroll to the calendar and open it for her and hand my phone back to her. I see her looking and counting the days she then shows me a date April 19th that was my 18th birthday. I look at her shocked did you barely just get your wolf when I accidentally hit you with my truck. She says yes then proceeds to tell me. When I shifted for the first time my wolf told me I was in danger I was scared and my wolf took over and shifter for the first time that night, but neither my wolf and I can remember why we were scared and felt that I was in danger all I remember was that feeling then shifting then running through the woods before coming up to a road then all I remember is complete blackness.

When she finished, I felt the anger taking over me and Max trying to take control. While trying to push him down there was a knock on the door that immediately scared Amelia. Before I could say come in Amelia was up and next to me hunkered down beside my chest. I put my arm around her and tell her it’s ok its probably just Lucas and Garrett bringing breakfast. She sits up when I say come in. The first one to enter was Lucas then Garrett bringing all kinds of foods. Amelia immediately perked up when she smelled all the food sitting on the table. Do you mind it Lucas and Garrett join us I ask her, and she was grabbing for the bacon. She looks up at me and shakes her head no.

Good morning, Lu and before they could finish that sentence, I gave them both and shut the fuck up look. Good morning, Amelia they both redirected from their original sentence how are you feeling today Lucas asks. Amelia looks up at me like asking for approval to answer I nod my head and she says I’m ok still a little sore she says to him. So, Amelia are you ready to get out of here Garrett asks. She once again looks up at me asking for permission to speak. I nod my head once more. Yes, very much so she answers with a smile on her face, but that quickly fades into a frown.

I look down at her and ask what’s wrong cupcake. Oh, it’s nothing I I I as she stutters, I just don’t know where I’m staying at or where I’m supposed to go. I smile down at her and tell her not to worry about that as I wrap my arms around her. We have that all taken care of already. Yes, exactly Lucas answers while you were in a coma, we got everything set up for you at the pack house.

She looks up at me with a shocked look on her face and proceeds to say something but stops. I lean down and give her a soft kiss on the cheek. That kiss sent shocks and vibration all through my body and when I look at her, I knew that she had felt it too.

We sat around the table for a bit while me and the guys talked about the pack house and work. Amelia just sat there quietly I kept looking down to check on her to make sure she was okay and every time she would just look up and smiled at me but would instantly go back to a frown. After a while she finally said Adrian is it ok if I go take a shower and get ready to go. I looked down at her and said of course cupcake you don’t need to ask permission to do things just go right ahead but just let me know so I can make sure you aren’t going to get hurt again. I said to her then asked would you like me to grab some nurses to help. She looked over at me while she was walking away and smiled then said no, I think I’ll be ok this time. Okay cupcake I responded as soon as she was in the bathroom and the door was locked both Garrett and Lucas looked at me with serious expressions on their faces. What the hell Adrian Lucas says why didn’t you tell her you were her mate. I looked back and forth to both of them and said I don’t want to frighten her she doesn’t know the simplest things about being a wolf she didn’t even know about mind linking.

Both Garrett and Lucas looked shocked at that statement. Well fuck man you're eventually going to have to tell her Garrett says. I will as soon as I get her comfortable back at the pack house and comfortable with the pack but as for right now, I need to both to link the pack and tell them not to disturb her when she gets there. With that said they both walked out and I sat then just waiting for my cupcake to come out of the shower.
