Chapter Forty Nine: Jealousy and Recklessness

Author’s POV

Regret flooded Lucas upon realizing that he had shouted a little bit more than he should at them.

His yell has echoed through the hall and if their laughter hadn’t gotten people up from their sleep then his yell had.

Raegan and Gunner stared at him in surprise as they tried to understand why he had yelled at them in the manner in which he had.

His outburst and obvious recklessness made he, himself to be equally surprised, but instead of apologizing, he asked, “Why the fuck are you standing there and staring at me like a thief caught on headlights?”

“Do you fucking know that this period isn’t one where you linger around at night?” He decided to play that card upon realizing that nothing he would have said would have made him right.

“We had played it safe and weren’t running around attracting unwanted attention but rather we had just watched the sun…”
