Chapter Fifty Six: Burn In Hell

Rae was extremely uncomfortable that Gunner had found her in that inappropriate situation with her father-in-law, who was also his father.

She was trying to think of the ideal response to give Gunner should he question her, but nothing was coming to her because her thoughts were primarily focused on Lucas; he was simply there, and oddly, she wanted it to stay that way.

She took advantage of the fact that Gunner remained silent about what he had seen, believing that it would be futile for her to bring it up.

Instead, she dutifully followed him wherever he led her.

It was nice that he put her into the middle of some boys who were around her age and introduced them to her.

However, the conversation turned dull when they started discussing business and the difficulties they faced as entrepreneurs.

Rae politely excused herself to use the loo, but Gunner was hesitant to let her go.
