Making friends 2

Upon hearing my question, mum looked at me. No she answered. She then seemed like she is thinking about something.

I had two interviews today just in case the one doesn't go well. But l dont think that l will accept the jobs either way. She added.

And why is that? I asked.

The first the interview the ceo is a half wit kind of a man who thought that l will take off my clothes for a job. And the second interview l passed. It's a company under a woman according to what l learnt.They called me on my way here that l passed as the ceo assistant. I didn't accept because the payment  is very low. Mum explained with a sigh escaping her lips afterwards. 

Any way mum it's okay. I think you should relax for days before  searching for another job.We just moved. Don't you think that you are stressing your self enough already with this job hunting thing? I told her and then asked. 

Daci you know we used alot of money while moving in here. We ain't left with much. If l dont find a job as soon as possible am afraid we are going to starve our self to death.There are also bills waiting for us pay after a period of time. I can't relax unless l find a good job. She replied. 

Mum's recent job in Washington was paying really well. And on top of that, it came with bonuses after all she is a hard working woman. That l always look up to. She was the managing director of angel fruits and juice company for about four years. It's because that we were moving that she had to quit the job. 

Thinking about that  l turned to look at her. What! she asked. What's really the reason behind our moving. Did you get in to conflicts with anyone? I mean in the company? I questioned. She  had been valuing her job  so much. So if she suddenly dropped it and move, the reason it can only make me  more curious to know. 

Look Daci l will tell you when l finally sort out some things. Am not sure about them right now either. I just want you to concentrate on your studies per now. Things aren't  easy but l will definitely find a way. I will get to the bottom of everything soon. She responded. What could it be? I inwardly wondered deep in my heart. She then proceeded ;

Getting you in a new school in the middle of no where is a thing l never wanted to do. But l didnt have a choice. . And am not planning to keep the reason from you. I will let you know when the time comes. Mum just told me that holding my both palms firmly. 

I nodded to her as a response. Whatever her reasons are, l will not force her to tell me. She will do it as she wishes. 

We talked about few things about school, Washington and the new town we just settled in. Mum still worried about the animal attack that's going on.. One  word after the other she will remind me to be careful and she didn't forget to to warn of not going closer to the woods especially at night..

The thought of me being away from the woods annoys me so much. I couldn't tell why am so much attracted to them. 

We left the living room to our respective rooms. After l had a bath, l lay on my bed thinking of how am going to help mum find a new and well paying job.

For almost half an hour l couldn't come up with something effective. And given that am still new in this place without knowing anyone also makes things more difficult. But l dont think l will fail. Let her continue with her search and me also on the other hand do the same.

I shoved my books into my bag for tomorrow's lessons and prepared a black denim damaged pant plus a white an organic crop top with vivid print to wear while going to school. I also prepared my double breasted trench coat just in case the weather changes. Will match it with my white Adidas. I love my new clothes that mum just brought me recently before moving. I feel good as l put them on. Mum is a care free woman who let me wear what pleases me. I also love her sense of fashion. 

After every thing was done, l sipped into covers. I woke up to the ringing of my alarm. Today l had a dream less night.

I grabbed my towel and went to have a bath. I didn't t take long to come out and wear my clothes. 

I applied massacre on my eyes. For lipgloss l always put it on my lips on the way to school in the car. I don't want to eat it as well during break fast. 

By the time l was done mum had already placed breakfast on table. Fried eggs and cheese sandwich was what mum made. Actually most of the times it's what we eat for breakfast.

Mum wasn't in the kitchen at the moment. She had probably gone to take rubbish outside. And l was right becaise she came back after few minutes with a trash can in her hands.

Wow!! Daci you are going to drive guys crazy. You are so hot in that out fit. Mum praised me. You are exaggerating mum. Am no different from yesterday. I said try hard not to smile. Yesterday l also wore a checkered black hoodie crop top with blue Jean pant. But mum didn't say a word. Nop today you are dressed to kill. She replied while washing her hands near the sink. Okay mum thank you. I finally said. She returned the smile.

I washed my hands too and we sat down for eating. Mum left to wear her clothes so that she could drop me to school after eating whereas l stayed washing the dishes.

Mum came down when l just completed cleaning the sink. We left immediately.

Are you having another interview today? I examined her as she was done initiating the engine.

Yes but not early morning. She replied. Oh okay Goodluck. With a smile towards her, l wished. Thank you baby. Was what she had to say.l nodded at her. 

Unlike yesterday where we were delaid by the animal attack incident on the way, today the road to school was clear as day. It was only eighteen minutes that we used to drove to school. 

I gave mum a hug and a kiss on her cheek and jumped out of her car. She bide me good bye and l returned it with a smile before she drove away.

Today l do seem to be in a good mood. May be because am hopping to get new friends today. 

I pushed the small gate which l realized yesterday that is commonly used by those students without cars. The parking lot was already occupied with cars. 

Following the crowd of students, l also merged in towards my class.
