"Bad time or good time?" Alyona asked as soon as Zeke answered his phone.

"By that, do you mean 'are we in the middle of f**king or not'?" he replied with his typical blunt humor.

"Oh my goodness! You never change, do you?" Aly asked, giving him an exaggerated eye roll. "If looks could kill, you'd be six feet under."

"Alright, alright. What's up?" Zeke said deciding on a subject change was in order. "It's been ages since I last heard from you."

"Nah, uh, it's been ages since I last heard from you!" she teased. "You've been on your honeymoon for close to a month now."

"Whatever, Aly. What's new with you?"

"Well, Bazyli and I are official now," she told him.

"Finally!" Zeke exclaimed. "You're finally off the market. I'm really happy for you, Aly. Under that tough exterior, I know you wanted someone to call your own. I hope Bazyli is the perfect choice and that you're both very happy."

Thank you , Zeke. We’re taking things slow for now,” she added.

“ I’m still happy for you. You d

Happy Valentine's Day!” her manager, videographer, and photographer yelled as they finished with the shoot.“T-thank you.” she managed to say. Her eyes searched the room for Kaye, as she had come to the shoot with him, but he was nowhere to be found. She wondered where he could have gone; they had been together just a few hours ago.“Behind you,” her manager said with a smile. She turned to see Kaye standing there, holding a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.“Happy Valentine's Day, babe,” he said, smiling warmly at her. She pulled him in for a tight hug, overcome with joy at the surprise. How had he managed to slip away without her noticing? As if reading her mind, Kaye said, “I know you're wondering how I was able to pull everything off.” He chuckled. “Well, yeah,” she replied with a laugh, still curious about his plan.“I’m afraid I can’t give away all my secrets!” he teased, making her pout playfully. “If I tell you, it takes the fun out of it.”“I can't get mad at you at this moment.”

Alyona had a lot of errands to run. Valentine’s Day and its hoopla were over, and she was back to reality. She had to plan her father’s 5-year death anniversary in two weeks, and she was already overwhelmed with the stress. The venue and food were covered. It was going to be held at her father’s house, and the maids were going to handle the food. Next on the list was decor. She needed an event planner to help her with the decorations for the event. She had been going through her contact list, yet she wasn’t getting any leads. “Gale, have you found someone yet?” she asked her secretary without lifting her head up. “Yes, I have.” “Did you say you have?” She turned to face her, hoping for a positive answer from her. She’d been on this for the past few hours, and all she needed was to find a person who could do good decor. “Yes. I can handle the decoration. It’s actually my side gig,” Gale mentioned. Aly knew Gale knew someone who did decorations, but she couldn’t put her finger on

"When are we leaving for home?" Gia asked her brother over the phone. "I was thinking tomorrow. His death anniversary is in two days, so leaving tomorrow will be ideal," Jax replied. "Great, great. And do we meet at my end or yours? My school is closer, so it will be better if we meet here," Gia said. "Of course, Gia. I'll be coming to your end later in the day after I submit and present an article," he agreed, packing his lecture bag. "Alrighty, big bro. Wait, Yara's coming along, right?" She asked, wanting to be sure so she would know how to take care of their sleeping arrangements. "Yes, she mentioned she would be coming to your end with Ayanda today," Jax said. "Okay, cool. All the best with your article presentation," Gia replied. Jax finished packing and got ready to head to the university to present his article. He was looking forward to wrapping things up. He was looking forward to spending time with his family and honoring the memory of their late father. Presenting

Xara stood before the gathered guests with a smile, though inside she felt a storm of emotions she couldn't name. "Thank you all for coming," she began. Her late husband would have been pleased to see so many friends and family there to honor his memory. She took in the familiar faces, drawing comfort from seeing her children mingling in the crowd. Over the years, her husband had built strong bonds with many in attendance. Through him, they had become like extended family. "The relationships he formed brought you close to our family as well. For that, and for your constant support, love, and care since his passing, I am deeply grateful." Xara paused for a moment to compose herself. "The occasional check-ins, donations, and gifts have meant so much to me and the children during this difficult time. We appreciate your friendship and generosity more than I can say." Her gaze lingered on Elon as she continued. "To those who took him under your wing to teach him about managing his fathe

"Thank you for making me meet the family, I really appreciate it," Bazyli said to Alyona as they entered the house. "Don't mention it, Baz. It's about time you met them anyway. They've been wanting to meet you, especially Zeke," she smiled at him warmly. "Zeke seems like a great guy. He really cares about you, Aly. It's nice to have a good friend like that in your corner," Bazyli complimented. As they walked further into the home, Alyona headed toward the kitchen area. "Let me grab us a bottle of wine and some glasses ," she said. "Sounds good," replied Bazyli. "So how do you and Zeke know each other?" he asked, curious to learn more about Alyona's childhood friend. "Zeke and I go way back. He's been my friend since we were kids. He was always there for me during the tough times, and he's still here for me now. I don't know what I'd do without him, honestly," she smiled fondly at the memory. "He must be a really loyal friend. It's nice that you two have known each other for

“ Did you say you’re dating Shane?” Gia was surprised on the call. Shane was a good guy. He is handsome, a good giver, caring, understanding, and supportive. But she never thought those two would get together. Yes, they were close, but it didn’t look like they would tour that route.“ Yeah,” Ayanda repeated on the other side of the phone. She didn’t know how Gia would react to her and her old stylist dating; that’s why she decided to keep it to herself for a while before telling her.“ I’m happy for you, Ayanda, why didn’t you tell me earlier? Wait, did you think I'd be against it or feel awkward about it? Shane and I are good friends, nothing else. All those flirts were harmless. I knew he liked someone back then, but I didn’t know that person was you,” Gia said, getting her pie out of the oven.“ I don’t know why I didn’t mention it to you, but I’m sorry. I should have said something earlier.” “ It’s alright. So, when did you start dating? “ Two months ago,” she confessed, scratch

“ Of course I do, Jaxon! I am your sister, and there’s no way I’m going to let her ruin your life again.” Gia yelled over the phone. “No, you don’t! Besides, all she did was check up on me to know how I’ve been doing—nothing harmful as y’all have been making it up to be,” he calmly replied. “ Jax, Brynn has an ulterior motive. She always has and always will. Just ignore her and focus on your relationship with Yara. If you don’t want her anymore, please let her know so she can move on.” Gia advised. “ Wait, is that what you all think? That, I don’t want Yara anymore?” he asked. “ Yes, that’s what she thinks; that’s what everyone thinks!” “ No, no, y’all thought wrong! Yara’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. She helped me get through the worst moments of my life. She’s everything and more. I can’t do without her, Gia,” he confessed. “ Then make her understand that before it’s too late. Stop entertaining Brynn. She has a man, let her discuss whatever she has to say with

Bazyli stood nervously at the door, taking a deep breath before knocking. When Aly opened it, her eyes searching, he asked, "Can I come in?" Aly hesitated, her emotions a whirlwind of curiosity and hurt. Finally, she stepped aside, letting him in. "Sure, come in," she said, leading him to the living room. "Have a seat; do you care for anything?" she asked, trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy. "No, I just need to talk to you," Bazyli responded, his voice shaky. Aly nodded, sitting across from him, giving him the space to speak. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth about me from the beginning. I wanted a break from my past, the wild and noisy bachelor life. I wanted a normal, quiet life, and I got so caught up in the reality and naturalness of our relationship that I didn't know how to tell you the truth," he explained, his eyes filled with regret. Aly looked at him, feeling a mix of hurt and understanding. "You should've told me, Bazy. I would've supported you either way,

A few years laterEpilogue. To create a 2500-word simplified version of the scene while staying true to the emotional depth and natural tone, I would focus on expanding the moments of reflection, internal dialogue, and memories, while also adding more description and backstory to the characters and events. The goal is to enrich the scene, making it feel fuller and more detailed, without relying on overly complex language. Here’s how we can structure and simplify the epilogue:---"Hey Dad..." she whispered, kneeling gently beside the weathered tombstone. Her fingertips brushed over the engraved name, now softened by years of exposure to rain, sun, and the passage of time. She felt a mix of heaviness in her heart, but somehow, being here always made her feel a little lighter too, like part of the weight of missing him was shared by the earth holding him now.She hadn’t planned to visit today—it just sort of happened. She had been passing by the cemetery on her way home and felt that pu

Bazyli and Aly walked slowly through the park, enjoying the fresh air and the quiet around them. It had been a long journey for Bazyli, but he was finally out of the wheelchair. He now used a cane to help him walk, and though it wasn’t easy, he was proud of how far he had come. As he looked around, everything felt new again—the grass, the trees, even the sound of kids playing in the distance. It was as if the world was welcoming him back, one step at a time."I can’t believe it," Bazyli said with a soft smile, looking down at his feet. "After all these months, I can finally stand on my own two feet again." His voice carried a mixture of disbelief and relief, as if he still couldn’t quite wrap his head around the fact that he was walking again.Aly, who was walking beside him, smiled warmly. "I’m happy for you too," she said, glancing at him with pride in her eyes. "Soon enough, you won’t even need that cane." Her tone was light and hopeful, trying to encourage him, but Bazyli just lau

“I hope she’s fine,” Gia asked over the phone, her voice tinged with concern as Ximena informed her of Shane and Ayanda’s breakup.“I think she is,” Ximena replied, though uncertainty lingered in her voice.“She’ll be fine,” Gia added reassuringly.“I hope so. I know she has new prospects anyway,” Ximena joked, trying to lighten the mood.“How’s it going with your mom, Xi? It’s been a month since you decided to reconnect with her,” Gia asked, knowing this was a sensitive topic for her friend.“It’s been awkward, Gia. We barely have anything to talk about when she calls or when I call her,” Ximena paused, taking a deep breath. “She wants me to come back home, but I don’t think I’m ready to do that, Gia. She threw me out without considering how I would survive on my own. She didn’t just abandon me; she ensured the rest of the family didn’t take me in. How does she expect me to accept returning home as if nothing happened?”Gia sighed, feeling the weight of Ximena’s pain. “It’s complicat

Bazyli’s therapy sessions had finally begun after some initial setbacks, and it was hectic for Aly to balance work with attending the sessions. Even though Kim and the live-in nurse were around, Aly still needed to be there for the sessions when both of them were absent.“I’m happy you both sorted out your differences,” Ida said as she walked into Aly’s office with Khloe and Davina in tow. Talia was a few months pregnant, so Zeke was hardly around these days.“I’m happy we did too,” Aly replied, smiling warmly at her friends. She was grateful to have such a wonderful circle of people around her. Since her first broken relationship, the death of her father, and almost losing her second relationship, they had been there for her, and she cherished their support deeply. Her life hadn’t been all rosy despite the money she had, but her friends had been the best anyone could ask for. She wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.“How’s Bazyli doing? Is he responding well to therapy?” Kh

Bazyli wheeled himself into Aly's bedroom, his face set with determination. "Can we talk?" he asked, his voice carrying an edge of urgency.Aly looked up from her desk, where she had been pretending to study, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yeah, sure," she replied, trying to keep her tone steady. "We were bound to have this conversation sooner or later." She could feel her palms growing sweaty as she tried to anticipate where this was going.Bazyli raised an eyebrow, his surprise evident. "Wait, you knew I had regained my memory?" he asked, a mixture of shock and confusion colouring his words.Aly nodded slowly, swallowing hard. "Yes, I did. She confirmed it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She had hoped to avoid this moment, to give herself more time to think of the right words, the right explanations. But now, here it was, staring her in the face.Bazyli let out a long breath, his eyes searching hers for answers. "Okay," he said finally, his tone softer now, as if he

From his room, Bazyli looked out the window. He remembered everything, but he didn't know how to tell Aly the bad news. He didn't know how to ask her what she wanted to talk about before the accident. He was thankful for what she did for him, but he had to talk to her. They needed to talk things out so that they wouldn't be awkward with each other. She was still important to him, and he hoped she felt the same way.The sound of his phone made him lose his train of thought."Hey Clinton, what's up?"He said, "Aubrey came by; she wanted to meet with you," while waiting for his boss to answer."We met online yesterday, and she didn't say anything about coming by today." What did she need?""She said she was in the area and just wanted to stop by for a quick chat." "But she did ask how you were doing," he said.“Okay, that's fine. I hope everything is going well at the bar, though,” he inquired.“ Yes, everything is going well here. How are you doing yourself?”“ Not bad, Clinton, not bad.

Brynn stood on the balcony of her new dorm room, taking in the surroundings of her new life in LA. It was a clean slate for her, a chance to start over and leave behind the mistakes and regrets of her past. The sun was setting over the city, casting a warm orange glow on the buildings and streets below. As she looked out, she couldn't help but think about the two love interests she had found and lost. She had made foolish mistakes and hurt those who cared for her, but she couldn't dwell on that now. This was her chance to find herself again and maybe even find love once more. She took a deep breath, feeling the warm breeze brush against her skin. It was comforting—almost like a sign that she was in the right place. She closed my eyes and let the moment envelop her. When she opened her eyes, she noticed a group of students walking by, chatting and laughing. She couldn't help but smile at the sight. It was a reminder that she was not alone in this new chapter of my life. Brynn had the op

“ Are you sure you’re comfortable with this arrangement?” Davina asked, helping her pack her suitcase.“Yes, Davina. I want to do this. If he had left for the airport without coming to see me to talk, he wouldn’t have been in this state, and if I had reached out to him earlier, he wouldn’t have been in this state,” she explained.“ I understand how you feel, but is this the right thing to do? What if you get fed up and decide you can’t take care of him any longer? What happens then?” Davina asked.“ I’m not going to be doing that alone, Dav. He’s hiring a nurse who will take care of him during the day when I’m off to work, and I’ll take over from her when I’m back.”“ Okay, if you say so. Be safe and don’t hesitate to call or come over. We’re always here for you,” Davina encouraged.“ Thanks baby girl.” she appreciated.Commuting to work would not be difficult for Aly because Bazyli’s house wasn’t far from her office. “ Deep breaths, Aly, deep breaths.” Kimora consoled as they sat in the hospital’s waiting room. Kim booked the next available flight from Hawaii down to New Jersey when Clinton called to inform her of what had happened.“ T-t-t-today w-w-was supposed to be a good day, Kimora. I finally closed the deal, a-and Bazyli and I were supposed to have a call. I didn’t know he was in town, nor did I know he was coming to see me. If only I had reached out earlier, maybe, just maybe, he would have been okay.” she panicked.“ It’s not your fault, Aly,” Clinton said, joining them. “ That’s what I’ve been trying to tell her, but she keeps blaming herself,” Kimora added just as the doctor approached them.“ He’s stable now and out of surgery—-- “ Why do I feel there’s a but?” Aly couldn’t help but cut his sentence short. “ There is.
