A Fun Run with You

"We're in a different line Zai, so see you later!" 

Louie said and tapped Zai’s shoulder

"Okay”

Zai coldly answered. But suddenly there's another tapping on his shoulder, he thought it's still Louie. But as he turned in that direction, he saw a familiar face that he misses a lot!

Yillan was dumbstruck for a moment. As the two deep blue eyes stared at her, suddenly a flashback of her previous dream came into her mind, it made her heart thump like a DRUM! That stare, it's like a deja vu, it seems like it really happened, and now, is this a coincidence?

Meeting him again after  5 years, although she frequently sees him in news, magazines, and TV, she hasn't met him personally in five years. She was amazed by how almost two years after his take over as CEO of Lee Empire, it gained triple profits and widened its market under his management. He is truly a genius. 

She followed him in his social media account simply, so she can be updated with what’s happening with him once in a while. Although she knows that he didn't remember her at all, she's just like some of his fans.

But now in all circumstances, she met him again.

"Yes? how can I help you?” 

Zai looked at her with an amusing look.

"Ah?" 

Yillan was lost for a moment and then came back to her senses, after hearing his cold voice again.

"You're in this line?"  

Zai looked at her and the sticker number she’s holding in her hands.

"Ah.Yes! Thank you" 

then she stepped beside Zai, together with a deep sigh.

Then the fun run began with a big BANG sound and everyone started running. Some started with speed but most of them were just jogging. Yillan is running fast to keep up with Zai, who is just jogging. For some time he was at her side, then at some, she was at his back. After 30 mins. of running Yillan was almost out of breath from trying to match his pace, but in the end, she gave up, she ran slower to the sideways and stopped temporarily to catch her breath" 

"He's so athletic. I can't keep up with him”

She uttered to herself, still catching her breath. 

“Being tall is such an advantage”

She added and heaved a deep sigh.

 “I'll rest for a while"  

She said talking to herself. Then, to her surprise, there was bottled water in front of her. 

"What?"

 She raised her head and saw Zai handing her the bottled water.

“You must be thirsty, here"

"Ah, thank you, sir"

"Sir? don't you know me?"

"Of course, I know you, your the Ceo of Lee Empire everyone in this country knows you, Mr. Ceo"

 "Ah, yeah that's right" 

Zai scratched his head, after hearing her answer. 

“What I meant was, don't you remember me from senior high school? The dance ball?“

"A-ah!" 

Yillan stared at him with shock. She can’t believe he still remembers her from that time. 

"Can we rest there, for a while?" 

He said talking to Yillan while pointing to a Park area. 

"Oh sure." 

She followed him in the park. 

Zai sits on the green grass lawn while Yillan, who is still in shock and nervous about what to do, remained standing there for a while. It's their first meeting again after five years.

"What are you doing, don't you wanna sit down? We can rest here for a while. It's a long way to go before we finish the marathon" 

Zai said while lying down, placing his hands in his head.

"Besides, it's not that important to finish this run, so we can have our time here". 

"Yeah, that's correct.”  

Yillan said and now sitting beside Zai.

"This run is for a charity event as long as you participate and give donations, that's what is all needed. Besides, most participants didn't need the prize for the winner."

"hmmm, you got the point there"

Zai answered while looking at the sky. Even though it's already noon the sun is not so hot and the breeze at the park is cool.

"It's nice here." 

Yillan roams around her eyes at the beautiful sceneries she can see around her. Meanwhile, Zai looks at her face…

"Yes, it's beautiful."

 "I really can't believe you still remember me, Mr. CEO?" 

She said while trying not to show her shyness.

"Why not? I don't tend to forget anything, especially if it’s someone special."

Beep!..beep! beep!

The sound of the alarm beeping echoed in the room.

"Ohh! It's already 5 am, I am still sleepy hmmm"

While still yawning, she taps off the button of the alarm clock then lazily gets up and heads down to the kitchen. 

"Good morning Aunty Tess, what's for today?"

"Good morning dear! Oh, you looked so tired, don't worry about breakfast I can handle them you should sleep more, you always come home late. How many hours did you sleep hmm? Take care of yourself please."

"You know the reason why I wake up early every day, Auntie Tess? Because I want to hear your sweet words for me, Auntie!" 

She hugged her Auntie from behind and kissed her.

"I Love So much Auntie Tess"  

She uttered while hugging her tightly.

"You fool you're the only one who likes me nagging every morning" 

Auntie Tess then tapped her hand.

"Ok, alright I mean it you should go back to bed, rest more. We can take care of here don't be stubborn okay?"

"Okay."

She headed back to her room and slammed her body to the bed. She planned to sleep more but she remembered what happened at the marathon.

After the rest in the park, they got up. Zai held her hands gently while helping her stand up from sitting. 

Let's go. We should head back to the finish line.

He said while smiling at her.

“Oh, ok. My brother should be there by now, I think we should run?  Or not?”

She said while fixing her hair. 

“Oh, no need. Just wait here for a minute.”

He said while smiling then immediately left.

“Ah, O-ok.”

( a few moments later)

“Yil come here.”

Zai called her, he was riding a bicycle.

“Sit at the back, we should get going any time soon. The marathon will be ending soon, we need to hurry.”

“O-oh, okay” 

She went in Zai’s direction, then she sat at the back. Zai began to paddle.

“Hold tight okay.”

“W-what hold where?”  

“My waist, I'll drive faster”

He said while smiling at Yillan.

“O-okay”

She shyly answered.

“Here we go.”

It's like a dream. At the moment Yillan is feeling happy. All these years, this is the only time she felt this happiness deep within. She can hear a piece of music in her head.

Then suddenly, it stopped.

“Here we are. From this point, we need to run so we can 

 catch up with the rest of the marathon. Let's go!”

Zai started to run.

“Yillan let's go!”

“O-oh, o-okay”

She was in a daze for a moment. Then she starts to run. She manages to catch up, but Zai's already ahead of her.

Fortunately, they reached the finish line and then had time to rest. She was catching her breath and looked for Zai, but he was nowhere to be seen.

“Yillan!”

She felt a tap from the back. 

“Secretary Yen, where's the President?”

“He went to the comfort room. Please just check him up, I wanna rest for a while.”

She told her while still catching her breath.

“Okay, secretary Yen.  I'll go find him’’

She ended up walking towards the comfort room.

“Yil!” 

Zai called, grabbing her hand. 

“Oh, I thought you had already gone. I just grabbed a drink, here for you.”

He said while handing her a bottle of water. 

“Thank you for this!”

“Where are you going?”

“Ah, I just wanna check on Eldest brother. Oh, I mean President Yoon. The program already ended and we need to get going.”

There was a silence that enveloped them for a moment.

“Are you?“

They both spoke at the same time.

“You go first” 

Zai smiled at her.

“Are you going home then?”

“No, we need to go straight to the company. We still have work to do and meetings to attend. How about you?”

“The same thing, we still had many appointments in the company.”

“Oh, I see. I should get going then. Ah, Yil see you again.”

“You take care Zai, bye-bye” 

“You too, bye.” 

They both smiled and waved goodbye to each other.

“Yillan!” 

“Pres. Yoon” 

When she saw who called her, she immediately ran towards her brother.

She still feels the warmth of his hand and can't stop thinking about his smile and what he said see you again.

Beep… beep… beep…

“Oh My! Why so fast” 

Yillan stopped the alarm and quickly ran to the bathroom.

“Aunty Tess, is Eldest brother already awake?” 

“Yes dear, young master is at the study.”

“Ah okay, I should get going, I will be late. Bye Aunty Tess!”

“Wait Yillan, here's your breakfast. Don't forget to eat it okay.”

“Got it, Aunty Tess! love you mwah bye-bye!”

“Thank you, Uncle.”

She said before getting out of the taxi.

“Right on time!”

She exclaimed, looking at her watch. 

“What was happening? What is it?”

She was confused looking at the front of the building. There are so many reporters and police cars. She walked faster to the side door of the building. She took the stairs and tried calling her brother but he couldn't be reached.

Inside, the prosecutors and police officers are already taking their computers and files. Then, a hand-pulled her inside a room 

“Sec. Yen? What was happening? I also couldn't reach Pres. Yoon, what is this all about?”

“The Prosecutor had a search warrant for Embezzlement and Illegal Slush Fund of the Company, I can't stop them because they had the warrant. I really don't know what to do now!”

She started walking back and forth. And after a few moments, her phone rang.

“Pres. Yoon something bad happened”

“I already saw it on the news”

“What should we do now, President?” 

“We have to calm down. For now, cooperate with the Prosecutor and tell Yillan to come home. Let's just analyze the situation and find a solution. 

“Okay. I understand President, I will handle it. Yillan, he wants you to go to the mansion. Go now.”

“Okay, Secretary Yen. I will”

Meanwhile, Zai and Louie were watching the news.

“Yoon Corporation will be in big trouble this time.”

Louie commented.

“I just heard gossip about it, at the dinner yesterday with one of my colleagues and they took action faster than I thought. All the media is covering it right now.

“Yeah, something’s fishy about it”

Zai said coldly.
