#Chapter81Shut Up, RavenExhaustion was now taking over my body as I laid next to the girl, flat on her back. Her bruises had already started to heal, a darkish yellow was taking now its place. She looked so peaceful almost as if she was just sleeping, not drugged or almost beaten to death. Aya checked for any more injuries on her but found none that needed tending. Her arm that was bleeding was healing at an incredible rate. Apart from that she had no physical injuries however I cannot say anything about the drug she ingested. The unbearable tiredness clouded my eyes as I look up to the wooden roof. “Raven, rest for a while. I’ll try to keep an eye out for now.” I heard Aya’s footstep fade away. My heavy eyelids shut itself close and the blankness overcame my conscious. I heard a groan beside me. As the memories from before I passed out, came flooding in, I sat up straight and scanned my eyes around the room. My eyes landed on Aya who seemed to be wide awake as well. S
#Chapter82 Raven A BeastThe word still means nothing to me while Aya lets out a gasp. She’s clearly shocked. She looks down at me with my lips still clamped shut.I know that look. That look doesn’t mean anything good. Oh boy.“I’m taking it as you know about Lycans then.” She continues as I turn to look back at her. “Well I should be embarrassed that a werewolf” then she looks at me as I arch one brow higher, “and of course a human saved my life.”“But I’m thankful to you, for saving me ladies. I guess, I’m indebted to you now.” She chuckles softly.“At least tell us why those werewolves were after you?” Aya insists. The girl looks at the wooden roof as she replies, “Cause of who I am.” “Who are you?” My big mouth decides to open up. She looks at me but doesn’t reply to my question, “By the way, how did you come across this cottage? It doesn’t look old. In fact, it looks fresh, I can even smell how fresh it is. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought you gu
#Chapter83Raven’s Coming“I have lived my whole life in these woods. I have hunted and I have also been the one who was hunted on many occasions. Several times in fact. I am always around those beasts that I have become one of them now.” I reply coolly for the first time today. “I wouldn’t want fool to you by saying I am weak. No, I’m not. You should not look down at me. If I were you, I would be careful of me too.” I warn her but my face has a glint of sass to it. She smiles once again and holds her hand up. “Of course, you are. You are a cheeky little beast. I knew I would like you.” Now it’s her time to ramble on. “Let me introduce myself, I’m Eliana Tessa Castellanos.”Aya gives her a calculating look, then her eyes open wide in shock. “You are one of them.” She whispers again. Okay I’m truly and completely lost here. Again. “A true Lycan.” Yep definitely lost.“What’s a true Lycan mean anyways? Isn’t it all the same?” I ask looking back at Aya who still looks utterl
#Chapter84A HumanIt’s already been four days since we started our journey towards Wyoming. We keep to the forest. We continue during the day and rest the night. We hunt some animals along the way, when we are hungry. Don’t worry I don’t eat them alive like I used to. Remember, I’m more human now. And we’ve got skills to light up fire. Apparently, Eliana was really good at that too. I don’t know where she learnt that skills from though. We keep away from the main roads or highways. You know one gotta be careful. Who knows what kind of frenemies we might encounter? And right now, we are not looking for anymore company. Well at least I’m not. Eliana was enough to torture me. She enjoys making fun of me as she keeps on mentioning my ‘short’ legs. I think she’s amused how easily she can rile me up. And knowing me, I always take the bait unfortunately. Our plan to stick to the woods comes to an end as we have to take the roads now. And that road will eventually lead to civilisa
#Chapter85Raven’s Promise To The OceanI place my face on the glass window of Eliana’s beautiful white BMW, as we drive past now. I was amazed to see the town which was filled by two story buildings scattered around on either side of the roads. But when we hit the road, once again we were surrounded by land that stretched forever under the roof of the vast sky. “Wow” I whispered for the untempt time as I sat back and enjoyed the interior of the car at the same time enjoyed the moving scenery in front of me as the car moved along.“You really need to stop being surprised at every single thing we pass by.” Aya chuckles by me. “But I am thought. Surprised? I’m enthralled.” I couldn’t seem to stop smiling.“I take it’s a good thing that you happen to meet me then.” Eliana says from the from the driver’s seat, as I vigorously nod my head at her. “By the way with you two at the back, I feel like your chauffeur. So, where off to now ladies?” she says saluting at us from the front a
#Chapter86Do Not Open Your Mouth Raven“And of course, my parents too.” Eliana adds.“But why a mate though. What’s so special about a mate?” I question, confusion lacing my voice. Eliana looks my way for a second as a soft smile plays there. “You’ll know when the time comes.” “Come on now. You know that I’m not going to have one. So, tell me. Why? Why only a mate can stop their bloodthirst?” I poke holes on her face through my eyes as I keep glaring at her to reply. She looks at the rear-view mirror to Aya, asking her to answer my question. But Aya just shrugs. “Aren’t mates someone that the moon goddess paired for you to be. You love each other, be loyal to one another and live your life with them?” she answers with a question herself. “I know as much as Raven does. So please feel free to answer her. Anyways what’s so special about a mate anyways?”Eliana sighs due to our lack of knowledge. Or no knowledge I should say. “I believe, you haven’t met your mate correct?
#Chapter87Raven That Belongs To WoodThe silence doesn’t last long as her home or her mansion comes to view. Since we drive past the gate, we have been in the car for more less five to ten minutes. It might be the speed she was driving as she was keeping us informed. Or it might also be the amount of times she stopped to laugh her butt off.Anyways, her house is spectacular. It was white with glass windows that looked almost black, but you could see a shade of green to it. I got out of the car with my mouth wide open for the ravens to fly in. I silently follow Aya who was equally inviting the ravens as her jaw were hanging by her chest.Eliana seemed to have disappeared down the white staircase as she said something like ‘Welcome’. As I took the stairs, I could see the sofas and lounge chairs on the rooftop by the second floor, facing the calm evening ocean as the sun dipped in it. On the edge of it, I could see a glitter of water, forming a straight line walk in jacuzzi. Di
#Chapter88If Only Raven StayedAs I lay on my bed after the wonderful dinner, the cook presented, all sorts of scenarios play in my head. Of what we were going to do next. What next? The question fills my head as the dark night slowly starts to light up. I requested to be in a room that faces the woods so I can take its energy to calm my storming heart. But it did little to help. I know I need to be in it. So, as the small rays that pass through my window, lights up a path for me, I get off the bed and walk up to the large window that I left it open the whole night. I climb up the small wall encasing the balcony and take a step off it as I floated in the air before I softly landed on the hard-cemented flooring. Then I leapt into the woods. I ran as if I was being chased. My own thoughts haunted me. I ran deep within the forest, where even the sun’s rays couldn’t find me anymore.I willed the trees to cover me better, hide me from my horrific future that I didn’t want to be
