Igniting the fire

Eliana Tessa Castellanos

He sits on the sofa and places me on his lap while I just sit quietly, leaning my head on his hard chest that was thumping quite rapidly. But I liked listening to his heartbeat. I liked being in his embrace.

One of his arms comes around my waist and his fingers intertwines with my own and sits on my lap. His thumb caresses the back of my hand ever so lightly, sending jolts of sparks all over. While his other hand plays with my hair that had grown further in these past few days.

He would kiss my forehead once in a while. I knew his eyes were on me, but mine was set on the calm sea outside that just seemed to be waiting for a storm. Every now and then, I would inhale loudly, taking in his scent, unconsciously nuzzling my head further into his chest.

He chuckles at this and his chest vibrates against my face. A smile tugs my lips so, I turn my head on his chest, smiling with my lips pressed on him. But he stops chuckling

He was a good few inches taller than me and was quite built. His sandy blond hair was neatly combed back, enhancing his sharp features. But his eyes were what stood out. That piercing blue orbs of his.I knew he was strong. The Alpha blood in him was very strong. So was his dominance. Yet he was not completely one of them. Nor was he one of us. So, what was he then?“They are closing soon. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the night, I suggest you join the rest at the beach.” I lean my elbows on the counter, ignoring his question. I know I sound strong. My voice was laced with dominance of my own. I was not going to show any weakness to this man. This creature that I don’t know of yet.But his face becomes emotionless as he starts to move towards me. “I would rather not go to that place. I want to

Was he getting tipsy?I eye the almost empty bottle in front of us and sigh. I doubt it affects him though. “What happened to you?” I ask unable to stop myself again.“She left me again.” He leans his head on his hand that was now propped on the counter and tugs his hair, messing it further. But what he said hits me. Again?“Again?”“Yes again.” He chuckles. “Stupid, aren’t I? I had her right in front of me twice. Twice. But both times I failed to see it. I failed to listen to my heart and my soul. I failed her and now she’s gone again.”He tugs his hair while his face scrunches in pain. He closes his eyes and his chest rumbles with a deep growl. “I’m sorry.” He looks at me with o

Isn’t it boys?” He starts laughing and soon the rest follows. There were quite a few of them here and most probably more outside. If I were conscious enough, I would have easily obtained such information, but I have already lost most of my senses. But still, I could clearly smell the Lycan that stood in front of me. The more I thought about it, the less sense it all made. I did not recognise his smell or remember ever having an encounter with him before. So, why the crazy obsession with me?“Who are you?”Their laughter dies out, but he still chuckles, amused. “Finally getting to know each other. I was sitting in my own puddle of blood, still fresh and oozing out continuously like a small stream. How long had I blacked out? Was it morning yet? Is that why they returned? I try to move my body, but I couldn’t even feel it. I was alive but dead. Nonetheless, I somehow felt the small flame in my heart lighting up. It was igniting the flames of hope again. Right then I knew that the effect of the herb was starting to wear off, but I was still weak. My wounds were not healing as my body was still being stabbed by the sharp spikes of the chain. Could I fight back now? Only one way to find out. So, I waited. I waited until it completely wore off and was out of my system. I patiently waited as the door loudly creaked opened and the bright light from the world outside blinded me completely.“Princess, did you have a good night?” I slowl

Echoing to the heavens. Then I’m pulled into a land, heavily filled with green, blooming beautifully with tulips that stretched beyond, meeting the peaceful blue horizon. Then I see a girl dressed in white, her perfectly sliver hair blending into the pureness that she exuded. She sits on her knees as she hovers over the pond. Hesitantly, I move forward, pulled by the curiosity that held the girl’s keen eyes tightly to the pond. I stand just behind her and look over her shoulder at the clear colourless water.
