Trevor POV The sun was beginning to rise as we made our way back to the house. The sun rays were peaking through the holes in the trees. A few pack guards escorted Rebecca closely. She would be speaking with me later on once I cleaned up and calmed down. If I spoke to her now, I'd slit her throat in a second. I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that one of my own pack members had tried to hurt or maybe even kill my mate. The snow crunched under my paws as the house appeared in the distance. I looked over at Stella who was walking next to me, her white fur covered in blood. Her restraint to not kill Rebecca was impressive. I would have her checked out by one of the pack doctors when we got back, just to make sure her and the babies were okay. She sustained a few injuries while we were out there but healed quickly, so I was hopeful that she would be just fine. She huffed as we neared the house, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up straight. She looked at me, and I r
The jail was on the other side of town from my house. Two guards and a sherrif were there, waiting for my arrival. I pulled the small sports car up into one of the parking spots and hopped out, lifting my heavy body out of the low riding car. I swung open the heavy duty door, walking in under the bright floruscent lights. The hallway was simple, green tiled walls, a few different photographs on the wall. I stepped into the Sherrifs office as him and two others were sitting at his desk, drinking coffee. He looked up when he heard my feet. "Alpha, sir. Good morning" He tipped his coffee cup towards me, and I nodded in return. "Where is she?" I was in no mood for small chat this morning. I wanted to get back home before Stella woke up. He nudged his head in the direction behind him, pointing towards the drunk tank windows. There she was, sitting against the wall, one wrist cuffed and hanging from the bar that was about two inches above her head. She looked up when she heard the She
Stella POV We had spent a few hours identifying all of the forsaken bodies left out in the woods after my Fathers attack. He had retreated when he realized that his pack was losing quickly. Unfortunately, Rebecca had distracted me and I was unable to go after him. Trevor ordered out and had some chinese food delivered to the house, and asked everybody to leave except for the few that were standing guard outside the house. He had sent Sam and Emily back home with a few guards until they were over in their pack lands. It was nice to have the house to ourselves. We sat on the couch watching a movie, snacking on each others chosen entrees. "What do you want to do about Rebecca?" He asked me with a mouth full of chow mein noodles. I rolled my eyes at him, pointing to my mouth. He kept chewing. Rebecca hadn't really crossed my mind much this evening. I wanted to pretend like our lives were somewhat normal. I worried that they would never be normal, that we would forever be fighting som
Trevor POV I was driving over 100mph to get back to the house. It was late, and I was at one of the border checks for an issue with a few wolves trying to cross that weren't Bloodsuns and had no excuse as to why they were crossing. Right now, we weren't letting anybody in, and we weren't taking any chances. I had left Kyle at the house with Stella, knowing I could trust him with her. But when I heard him call out to her through the mindlink, I panicked. "Stella!" I called out to her through the mindlink. No response. She had killed a random man in our bedroom, apparently. A million different scenarios were running through my head. I shouldn't have left her, I thought. I whipped the large black SUV into the driveway, ramming through the gates before they were opened all the way. The tires skidded to a hault as I pulled up to the front of the house, jumping out without barely putting it into park. The front door was wide open. Foot prints led up to the house. No guards were around.
“I’m okay”Stella called out to me as I crossed over the territory line. Her white wolf fur blended in with the snow, but her eyes gave her away.“Go to the house. NOW” I screamed at everybody who was still in the woods. They all scattered and took off running. I nudged Stella with my head and she took off running. She was fast. I almost had a hard time keeping up with her. She was healing quickly, I could tell. Once she shifted, the healing process would go much faster. We got about two miles from the border line when she began to slow down and stopped. I shifted back as soon as I noticed she did, looking around to make sure nobody was around to see her naked. Enough men had seen her naked tonight. The thought of them seeing her like that enraged me. “Are you hurt? What’s wrong?” I asked her. She stared at me, her eyes still bright. Before I could ask anything else, she grabbed ahold of me around my waist and pulled me into her, kissing me. I tangled my hands in her long curls, pul
Stella POV I had wanted to keep the news of the arrangment a secret. I didn't feel like it was something that Trevor needed to know because I never thought it would come to light. Jasper was a nice enough guy. We went to high school together and hung out after with groups of mutual friends. He knew of the arrangement before I did though, and spilled the beans about it one night at a drunken bon fire. I was furious that my Father didn't even tell me about it. When I found out, I was 21. I knew that I had years to get out of it and didn't think too much of it. I figured once I was Alpha, I would get out of it and everything would be fine. But Jaspers Father had promised my Father a large sum of money for the marriage and mating of the two of us. They had gone through with the arrangement ceremony without Jasper or I present. If I was still part of the South pack, I would be forced to marry and mark him. The thought of not having Trevor made me sick to my stomach. Collin had left to ru
Trevor POV I sat at my desk with Councilman Parker across from me. He had come in, rushing over to Stella and embracing her. I could tell the action had caught her off guard some, not expecting it. He was dressed casually, jeans and an army green colored half zip up sweater with brown boots. "I appreciate you seeing me on such short notice, Councilman." "Ray, please." He smiled, crossing his leg over his other and resting his hands on his ankle. "Okay, Ray. Listen, let's just get right to it. Alpha Jones is out of control. I understand that the council put some restrictions on their pack land and businesses. I agree with it, but there is something else we need to discuss." "He's handing the position down." He nodded. He knew why he was here and why I wanted to see him. "Right. One, he hasn't gone through any of the right ceremonies to do so, or if he has, it has been under the radar and not by tradition. And two, he has no children to hand it down to, so who the hell is it go
Stella POV I washed up my hands afterwards and started to cook some bacon and eggs in case anybody woke up hungry, but everybody slept in. About an hour had gone by since Trevor and I decided to mess around in the office. He had taken a shower and returned to the office to do some more work while I relaxed with a cup of coffee outside on the patio. It was still snowing, but the sunshine beams were hitting the snow and making it sparkle, which I always loved. I looked over my shoulder to see Collin and Silas in the kitchen with Coraline pouring herself a cup of coffee. Kyle had come out from the guest bedroom and was laying on the couch with his broken leg propped up. We would have to find him a mate soon. He wasn't healing quick enough and it was starting to worry all of us. Even the pack doctor suggested he mark a new mate. I knew that was easier said than done, but he seemed to not mind the idea of marking June. I decided I would go and talk to her later today. I hadn't seen her in
Stella POV I knew that my statement had caught Trevor off guard. It was the last thing that I wanted to do, that any of my siblings would want. My Mother was a good woman, a good wolf. She was always caring and understanding with all of us growing up. She was patient when most would have lost their cool. She had risked her life to warn me of my Fathers attack when I was pregnant, before I even knew I was pregnant. In the long run, she would always try and protect her pups, regardless of how old we all were. She had lost two already, and almost a third. Her loss was unmeasurable. I sat wrapped up in a blanket on a chair in the corner of the room, watching a lit candle flicker against the turned off TV. Trevor was fast asleep, legs spread covering most of the king sized bed. My mind was racing, wondering if my Mother was possibly thinking the same thing that I was. Did she know that she had to be sacraficed in order to defeat my Father? Was she still blindly following him even though
Trevor povThe evening definitely hadn’t gone that way I had hoped. Maybe I was foolish for thinking the Alpha ball was going to happen with no drama. I sprawled my body out on the temperpedic bed, turning the tv on to the news. “They aren’t reporting anything! This is bullshit!” I yelled out to Stella who was washing up in the bathroom. “How can they report on every other fucking thing that happens in our lives, but this? Nah, they’re going to keep quiet.” I rolled my eyes. I heard the bathroom door slide open and rolled to my side, resting my head into my hand. The light switched off and Stella came out. To my surprise though, she wasn’t in her usual boxers and tshirt, but lingerie. Her long hair was hanging to the right side of her face, giving way to her neck on the other side. She was wearing a white corset that stopped right below her breasts, allowing them to bounce lightly with every step. The back was laced all the way up, giving way to a matching pair of lacy crotchless u
Stella pov“Let’s go! Get her in here!” I rushed my large wolf form through the elevator door straight into our suite doors where Collin was standing. He had a doctor ready in the living room. I gently let June down off of my tall back and shifted back quickly. I didn’t care who saw me naked. “What the fuck is going on! Where is Alpha?” Collin spat out as he tossed a blanket at me. I wrapped it around my shoulders and watched intently as the doctor and nurse cleaned out Junes wound quickly. I shrugged.“It went south so fast. He made me leave.” I whispered. Collin noticed the anxiety cross my face as I recalled having to leave him down there. June cried out in pain as they worked. Collin paced back and forth in front of the glass patio doors, his gaze darting between myself and June. “He’ll be fine.” He blurted out, staring at me. I couldn’t respond though. I stood frozen in the blanket, unable to move or speak. “I should go down there..” My eyes slowly moved up to make eye contact
Stella povThe room fell silent. The band stood on the stage, holding their instruments at their sides, looking for a sign whether to start up a new song or not. I kept my focus solely on my Father. He was inching closer, his body stumbling ever so slightly from all the alcohol he had consumed. I could feel the rage flooding through Trevor’s body through the bond. One more move, and he would attack. “You are such a disgrace.” My father hissed through clenched teeth. I stood my ground, not looking away or reacting. He was trying to get a reaction out of me. “We raised you better than this!” He pointed a finger at my alpha. I growled a little, Trevor’s hand gripping my forearm ever so slightly. “You left your pack for a man. You bred for him. Brought pups into a world where their parents don’t belong together. You made a mistake.” “Alpha Jones, I think it’s best you call it a night.” Jasper had made his way off the stage and placed himself between us and my Father. But my Father didn’
Stella POV Trevor filled me in on the elevator ride up with Jasper and what he had said. We let June and Jasper have a few minutes of privacy as we rode down to the hotel lobby. There were a lot of moving pieces that we didn't know how they would all fit in together just yet. The thought of June moving back to South pack lands had me on edge. She wouldn't want to stay with us any longer, now that she had found her mate. And if they were going public with it tonight, she would have to move in with him pretty quickly. "You look stunning." Trevor twirled the large ring on my finger, running his other hand up the inside of my arm. I leaned into him, resting my head on his shoulder. "Thank you" I whispered. The doors opened and we stepped out to flashes and news crews. It caught me off guard a little. Last year, no press was allowed in. This year obviously was different. Trevor grabbed ahold of my hand tightly and led me through the sea of white flashes. We made our way down the red car
Trevor POV The night before hadn't gone like I expected it to, but it had all at the same time. I wasn't sure what I would say to Alpha Jones once I had the chance. But, when it arrived, I had decided he didn't deserve to hear a word from me. When he asked me about my children, I almost exploded. Luckily my Father stepped in quickly. Stella spent the morning with June trying on different dresses that she had brought with her, banishing me to my Fathers room while she did. She wanted me to be surprised again. The memory of the last Alpha ball had me sitting on pins and needles, but I wasn't going to admit that to Stella. I wondered if she could feel it through the bond, though. I could always tell when she was upset or scared or anxious, so I'm sure she could as well. "What time are we headed down to the ball?" My Father asked from the sofa he was laying out on, eating a bag of potato chips. Chip crumbs decorated his white tee shirt. "7pm" I mumbled. He sat up, the crumbs that had p
"I'm not sure I should let you go down alone looking like that." I teased as Trevor finished buttoning up his dress shirt. He was in navy blue dress slacks and a white shirt with paisley blue design on it with a matching blue tie. The matching sports jacket laid out on the end of the bed. He giggled a little, tightening his belt and coming over to me by the patio door. I had poured myself a glass of red wine and decided I would take a nice bubble bath and catch up on my disgustingly addicting dating shows while he attended to first night of meetings without me. Lunas weren't allowed still. "Promise you won't be out all night again. And if you are, at least give me a heads up? I can't deal with another whiskey hangover." I joked with him. He rolled his eyes. "June will be here in a few minutes." He chimmed, walking back to the bed and grabbing his jacket and throwing it on over his large shoulders. He looked so handsome. The news was a surprise to me. "I didnt want you up here alone.
Stella POV I sat on the edge of our bed as I finished putting on my socks. Our bags were packed for two nights away from the house. And the kids. We were about to leave for the Alpha meeting. I was glad it was in neutral territory, and not on my old pack lands. I dont think we would have gone if it were. I actually just don't think Trevor would have even let me go if it was. The risk was too high. I was already anxious leaving the babies. We had never left them for more than a couple of hours to sneak away for a quick date night, or even just downstairs to decompress and watch a movie or a football game together without kids pulling, poking or puking. I knew that Trevor could feel my anxiety through the bond, because he kept appearing in the hallway, peaking in, pacing. I stood up slowly, bending down to grab my overnight makeup bag that was sitting by my feet and made my way out into the living room where Trevor and his Dad were waiting on me to leave. "The bottles are in the fridg
Trevor POVThe wedding planner sat at the kitchen island, watching my dad clean up the high chairs. She was short and slightly overweight with a dark bob. She wore black framed glasses and had on a dark blue womens suit with flats. She carried a large box with “ALPHA” written in giant black marker on the side of it. As soon as she heard us come down the hallway, she sprung off the island chair, softening her jacket down and smiled big at us both. “Good morning!” She chirped. I had only spoken to her a hand full of times. Mostly to pay for things and give approval when needed. Stella was handling everything else though. “Hi Mrs.Jordan. I am so sorry to keep you waiting! Crazy morning today!” Stella reached her hand out and shook hers, then motioned for her to sit back down. “I have the final guest list with me today as well as the seating chart. Caterer is all set and so is the DJ.” She smiled as she slid over a few different pieces of paper. It was smaller, with limited guests. But i
