EPISODE HUNDRED AND SIXTY- SWEETEST WINE

Henri’s POV

As Karyna sipped on the fruit protein smoothie I whipped up for breakfast, I carefully painted her toenails. She cozied up in one of my oversized t-shirts, only wearing a thong underneath.

She was nestled in my study chair with a pillow supporting her back, and I was perched on the edge of the bed, stealing glances at her beautiful face while I applied the white polish to her toes.

I couldn't help but notice her bob slowly lengthening, and a pang of sadness tugged at my heart. I wonder if she'll trim it soon.

The unspoken connection between her haircut and the loss of one of the twins weighed heavily on my mind. I knew it was her way of coping with grief.

It was a better method. Much better than drowning attempts. Yet, I was tempted to ask her to keep it.

I couldn't shake the feeling that asking her to let her hair grow might help her release the grip of grief.

“Karyna,” I called to her softly.

“Hm?” She returned without sparing me a glance.
