The Attack
Peter came out of his musings when he heard the sound of breaking glass. He glanced to where his daughter was standing, her eyes round in fright; looking at the broken clear vase in pieces on the brown wooden floor. Her hands still clutching her pink Disney princess backpack as she raised her eyes to her father. Lilly picked up her daughter and her backpack and walked over to the two-seater couch near the big windows and sat down with Gemma on her lap.
