ONYX'S POV;

At least, things were starting to get better. Hazel and I had settled things and maybe we could carry on from there.

She remained in my arms the whole afternoon and we talked about a lot and nothing. I felt that squeeze in my heart and my wolf was starting to come alive.

I had ignored her the whole time, forgetting how amazing she could be. I didn't even think she had an atom of amazingness in her. I didn't know she was this learned and intelligent.

"When did you start reading?"

"My father taught me to read when he was sick," She replied slowly. "I couldn't read at the age of eleven but he taught me to and for a year, I learnt how to read before finally reading on my own and on my twelfth birthday, I woke up to a dead father. Imagine getting a dead body for a birthday gift,"
