Tabitha's POV

His voice rang out all of a sudden, like a bucket of cold water splashing towards me, instantly waking me up.

I turned my head and looked at Derek, whose appearance startled me.

Blood from Elena still smeared my face, and I knew I must look like a stranger to him now.

Derek looked at me, his eyes filled with shock. "Tabitha, you knew?"

I stared into his eyes without the slightest intention of looking away. Then I sneered, "Surprised, aren't you? While you were busy trying to figure out how to calm me down, I had already taken action. Derek, you said you'd handle this, remember? Well, I've already dealt with her."

I looked at him and continued coldly, "You handle it yourself? Or shall I?"

Elena's body bore five wounds, and her white dress was stained red with blood, making her look even more fragile and delicate.

Derek tried to soothe me. He said, "Tabitha, please, just calm down. Let's talk this through. Don't act on impulse."

I sneered, "Calm down? What about all the su

Derek needs to rot in h*ll and keep both Elena and Daphne by his side, afterall he cares more about them just because of their connection to his dead beta. Absolutely ridiculous! I hope Tabitha still gets her revenge. I'm regretting reading this story if she ends up with Derek at the end.

Tabitha's POVI was already seriously ill, and the bullet put me in a more severe condition. My high fever lasted the whole night.I felt like I was drowning in the vast ocean, struggling to stay afloat, mumbling to myself in a blur."Mom, I'm so cold. Please don't leave me."Don't leave me behind, my pup! Take me with you."It hurts like hell to live in this world."Ouch..."My wolf instinctively wanted to take over so as to alleviate my pain, but we were too weak that we could barely muster that strength.Sometimes, when I was conscious, I caught Jasper looking at me with red eyes, worry written all over his face."Tabitha, I'll keep you safe, I swear," he whispered, his voice filled with determination. After being in a coma for a whole day, I finally came around. My wrist had been bandaged, white gauze wrapping tight around it. Yet it couldn't prevent pain from the slightest movements. It wasn't a nightmare. Derek did shoot me."Tabitha, you woke up," exclaimed Jasper, with palpabl

Derek's POVAfter pausing for a while, I piped up again, "What did you say? Kidney transplant?"My voice echoed in the hospital corridor."Yeah, why would Ms. Hartley go through all these tests if she didn't wanna be his donor?" the nurse replied while watching me with confusion, as if not understanding my reaction."Alpha Derek, we've got excellent organ transplant doctors here, and it's tough to get a donor. So tell them to hurry..."Before she could even finish, I dashed out of the hospital. It finally dawned on me why Klein came to Tabitha's rescue—she'd agreed to be his donor if she was a match!Being a werewolf, I knew how crucial a healthy kidney was for us.Losing one wasn't fatal, but Tabitha would be less strong and healthy. She was so young. How could I bear to let her make such a sacrifice?"Alpha Derek, Tabitha's no longer in Seattle, and Klein's MIA too. We can't track them down for now," said Alvin. I furrowed my brows, feeling deeply worried."Alpha Derek, you should r

Tabitha's POVWatching people around me perish one by one filled me with an unprecedented fear.John was the last hope that kept me going.I had to do my best to keep him by my side.I wanted to clean Dad's body, but my injured hand rendered the simple wish almost impossible.I couldn't even handle a simple job like wringing out a towel.Jasper, seeing my embarrassment, considerately wrung the towel dry for me. Then he patiently soothed me, "Tabitha, don't worry. Derek avoided the vital areas. Maybe your hand will heal in time. You shouldn't give up hope."I scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping my lips. "So you're saying I should be thankful that he showed mercy?"I looked at my useless wrist and added in a cold voice, "My biggest regret is not being able to kill Elena. That damn psycho!"I realized that there was something wrong with Elena when I saw her reaction to pain. Even in extreme agony, she bit her lip hard, refusing to make a single sound."Tabitha, Elena is in poor health, and

Tabitha's POVKlein's reassurance gradually calmed my nerves. Time ticked by in my anticipation. When the OR door finally opened, I almost ran up to it."Jasper, how did it go?" I asked, feeling a mix of hope and jitters.Jasper took off his gloves and mask and let out a sigh of relief. "Tabitha, rest assured, the surgery was successful. John's gonna come around today." This news filled me with an indescribable sense of relief and gratitude.I had been living in constant fear, perhaps due to all those schemes and intrigues. Luckily, the Moon Goddess finally had my back this time.Dad, as if hearing my prayer, came to before long. The moment his eyes opened, I felt like I was in some wild dream.I stammered, my lips quivering, "D-dad, you finally came around."He looked at me with a gentle gaze, mumbling, "T-Tabby."Jasper explained, "John's brain nerves are damaged, so he'll experience temporary mobility difficulties and slurred speech. Tabitha's POVI knew that Klein was unwilling to accept my kidney, but a twist of fate made our kidneys match. His advanced kidney failure left him with no choice but to rely on dialysis just to stay alive. As the family's heir, he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. So, despite his reluctance, he had to get that transplant done ASAP.Klein looked at me, a hint of empathy in his eyes. "Tabitha, if you wanna back out, I won't blame you. I can find another donor."I shook my head and replied firmly, "Klein, I've made up my mind."We weren't related by blood, but he helped me again and again. The only way I could repay him was to give him my kidney. My hands were already disabled, and I was suffering from a serious illness. I probably didn't have much time left.Being able to help Klein before my time ran out gave me a strange sense of comfort.I reassured him, "You don't have to worry about anything. Derek's POVI led a group of elite shifters and landed on this deserted island.Blood was pumping through my veins like crazy, and I had only one thought in my mind: "I gotta find Tabitha and stop her from donating her kidney!"The island wasn't huge, and my crew had been through countless fights. Thus, before long, we tracked down the OR.I kicked the door open, and there was Tabitha with a fresh cut on her wrist. But fortunately, it wasn't too deep. So I wasn't so late after all.So I wasn't so late after all."How dare you!" I roared, my eyes ablaze with rage.Alvin and the other shifters charged into the room, their voices steady as rocks. "Drop the scalpel!"Tabitha glared at me, her eyes filled with hatred. "What the hell are you doing here?"I fumbled to stop her bleeding while answering, "To stop you from making a dumb mistake!"As her mate, I could feel her pain as if it was my own. "Sorry, Alpha Derek's delirious," he blurted, terrified of offending Doctor Venessa."Get his clothes off and put him in the tub," Tabitha instructed, turning away to sort herbs."Fully?" Alvin asked, unsure."Fully," Tabitha confirmed, her voice flat.Alvin hesitated, then stripped Derek bare.Tabitha's mind flashed with memories of Derek's body—the same one she'd once known intimately.Compared to when she'd left, Derek's physique was more muscular. When she'd gripped his waist earlier, she'd distinctly felt the elasticity and definition of his muscles. Now, with his clothes removed, several new scars were visible across his chest. She'd watched him from afar over the years, always avoiding contact, always ensuring she remained invisible to him.Several times over the years, Derek had nearly crossed paths with Tabitha during missions. The all-around physician?"An "all-around physician" was a rarity—doctors usually specialized. But Vanessa wasn't just rare. She was legendary.Alvin had first heard her name last year when she became one of the few surgeons capable of performing interdental artificial cornea surgery. The procedure was so complex it required collaboration across dental, ophthalmological, and radiological fields.Yet Vanessa, a twenty-something newcomer, pulled it off.Media swarmed, patients flocked—but she vanished. Then came a high-risk heart surgery, again under her name.Another worldwide sensation.Reporters chased shadows. Show some respect," Rolf warned, wary of Misha's infamous temper flaring up again.Despite her pride, Misha's love for Derek was genuine. She quickly composed herself. "Of course, Doctor. I entrust my Derek to you," she said, the possessive words slipping out before she could catch them.Rolf's eyebrow twitched. Since when was Derek "hers"?Alma appeared in the doorway. Third person's POVWhy did it have to be Derek?Alvin's fists tightened as he stared at the horizon. Derek had lived with a clear conscience—except for Tabitha. He didn't deserve this end.But Alvin wasn't a healer. All he could do was watch as Derek's breaths grew shallower, his skin paler. The bell tinkled again—Hedwig had followed them here. When they finally stopped, Alvin eased Derek against a gnarled pine, its needles pricking Derek's back like needles of ice."This spot's good," Alvin said, voice cracking. "You'll see the sunrise."Derek nodded weakly. "Good."The mountain wind bit through Derek's coat, but it cleared his head a little."Alvin... my biggest regret was letting Daphne's demands tear Tabitha and me apart. If I hadn't blamed her for Silver Moon Pack's problems... none of this would've happened.""Alpha Derek, you had your reasons," Alvin said, though the words felt hollow."R

Third person's POVHedwig couldn't speak, but she was wise beyond her years—quiet, helpful, and already versed in basic healing.Derek wished he could play with her, but time was slipping through his fingers. After eating the fruit she'd given him, he picked up his pen again. All night, he didn't rest.He could feel the life Hedwig had breathed into him fading. His senses were dulling again. But the will was done. Now, he only wanted to write letters—to Tabitha, to his kids, Kyrian, Helios and Ayla. The poison was moving faster than it should've. Every letter cost him energy, accelerating the venom's grip.First, he wrote to Kyrian. "Be a good man. Lead the pack with your heart, not just your claws."Derek's chest ached. He'd failed Kyrian, leaving him to shoulder the pack's weight alone. But love? That never faded.Next, his mother. The letter was short—"Take care of Kyrian. If Tabitha ev

Third person's POVAt the mention of the word "will," Rolf's face, which had been tense for days, crumpled. His eyes instantly reddened."Alpha Derek, you don't need a will! You're gonna be fine, you hear me?!"But at this moment, Derek became calm. "I don't have much time left. It took me a lot of effort to get to this camp. Even if I leave, it would take a day. What's the point of leaving if she comes back right after I go? It's better to stay here. If she doesn't come back in the end, I at least need to settle things, I can't just die without any explanation.""Alpha Derek...""Alvin, go get it," Derek said.Alvin's eyes welled up. "Alright."Alban, with red eyes, said, "I'm sorry, kid. I couldn't help you this time.""Dr. Weaver, I'm already grateful to you. You're right, there are some things beyond our control. "I'm not sure about that."After all, Hedwig was Derek's spitting image, but she wasn't certain about Hedwig's father."Regardless, he already has other women by his side. He might have forgotten your mother and could build a future with someone else. Even so, do you still want to save him?"Hedwig pursed her lips and didn't respond. Alma stroked her hair, "Poor child, you should know how hard your mother worked to escape him. If he discovers you two are still alive, he'll imprison her again. Do you want that?"Hedwig shook her head gently."Then pretend you don't know him. Your mother and the others aren't in the village. Whether he survives is up to luck," Alma sighed, "Your mother suffered too much. She was barely alive when she gave birth to you. Cherish the life you have now."Hedwig nodded.Strangely, after Derek drank Hedwig's blood, about half an hour later, his vision and hea

"Stop making a fuss here! Don't try to coerce me with such theatrics. Whether you stay or do something more extreme, it has nothing to do with me. If you're looking for trouble, take it elsewhere, not here!"Misha stood there, stunned. How could Mrs. Atkinson act so unreasonably?"Why are you staring at me like that? Do you think this is a soap opera?" Alma sneered, "Now leave before you soil my place."As she spoke, she shielded Hedwig's eyes, "Don't look, or it might ruin your mood."Misha returned, drenched and furious, cursing under her breath, "Why is this old woman so difficult? She didn't have to help, but did she have to throw urine at me?"Rolf pinched his nose and stepped back
