Silent Vengeance

Mighty's POV

“Skylar, you can do this. Push,” Dr. Brenda urged, her voice steady as she encouraged Skylar to push out the baby. I didn’t want to watch—this scene was too intense for me. Watching a human come out of another human was a little too extreme. Skylar screamed in response.

“Just one more push,” Dr. Brenda said. With a loud scream, Skylar gave one final push, and the baby emerged. The sound of the baby’s cries filled the room. I gave Skylar a small smile and a nod of acknowledgment before I left.

It was a joyful moment for everyone—except for me, of course. She wasn’t the one I wanted a child with. My heart still belonged to a girl I’d fallen in love with back in school in Italy, and I hadn’t stopped feeling that way since. I rejected my mate because of her. It was a shock when I returned to Rome and saw her again, that night, dancing in the rain. It was a magical moment until I realized I wasn’t the only one watching her.
