Deceit

I opened my eyes slowly, I tried to blink against the harsh lights in my room. My head pounded with a striking headache, and as I tried to sit up, a wave of pain and dizziness washed over me, forcing me to fall back to the bed. Memories came flooding back, hitting me like a tidal wave.

I was walking into the kitchen to prepare Alpha’s protein shake since he will soon be back from training. I found Skylar standing there, clutching a knife in her hand.

"Lady Skylar," I said cautiously, trying to remain respectful as she is still known as Alpha’s mate. "Is there anything you need that I may help you with?"

Her eyes flashed with anger, and she stepped closer, her grip tightening on the knife. "Stay away from Aiden," she snarled. "You don't belong here, and you certainly don't belong with him."
