Miracle

“NO!” I screamed, my heart still aching from the agonising pain of rejection. I know he didn’t use the words to reject me, but for some reason, it feels like he is rejecting me.

“Why can’t you recognise me as your mate?” I asked, looking at him with tear-filled eyes.

“I can smell my mate’s scent, and I know it’s not you,” he said, looking at me with his hate-filled eyes. I felt something break inside of me.

“Please,” I pleaded pathetically, looking at him with hopeful eyes, “I swear I am your mate. She is not,” I added as tears rolled down my cheeks. “I am sure Malia has tricked you. She can’t be your mate, please, please trust me.” I begged for my mate to listen to me.

“Why are you so hell bent on proving that I am trying to steal your mate?” Malia asked. For the first time, she looked pitiful, and I knew it was all an act. She was desperately trying to prove in front of everyone that I was trying to frame her.

“How can you even have a mate? Even if you do, how can you identify who your mate is? You don’t have a wolf. You won’t know until your mate identifies you,” she continued.

She looked at me with narrowed eyes; I knew she was trying to figure out how I knew about Alpha Jake being my mate. I was panicking inside, trying not to blow my cover. I couldn’t let her find out about Mia. I had to protect her at all costs, and for that, I had to lie.

“I may not have a wolf, but I still have werewolf senses. I can smell his scent, and I know the strongest scent we could smell is our mate’s scent. I am sure he is my mate because his scent is the strongest I smell.” I replied. I just prayed to the Moon Goddess that she would help me and they believed me.

“That still doesn’t mean I am your mate.” Alpha Jake growled at me. I jumped in my seat. I wasn’t expecting for him to snap at me.

“I promise, you are my mate. I am sure. I know she has messed with our bond. Please believe me.” I said, trying to convince my mate. My heart is shattering with each passing second.

“SHUT UP!” He growled angrily, wrapping his arms around Malia as she faked a cry. “If I hear you say another word against my mate, I swear I am going to throw you in the dungeon.” He yelled. His words made my blood run cold. He wouldn’t do that to me, would he? I am his mate. How can he not recognize me?

“I—” I started, trying to defend myself, but dad’s loud growl stopped me.

“I am going to rip your head off if you say another word.” He growled, making me freeze in my seat. Why is everyone making me look like a criminal? It’s Malia who is wrong here, but they are all supporting her instead of me.

“Have you not brought enough shame to our family already? You not only are weak but don’t have a wolf, and you expect Alpha Jake to take you as your mate? Are you so desperate that you are willing to break your sister’s bond?” He growled at me, making me flinch. It wasn’t his growl that affected me, it was his words that hurt me the most.

“How pathetic? You want to fool me and break my bond with my true mate? You must be delusional. Even if you were my mate, I would have rejected the moment I laid my eyes on you. I would never take a weak wolf-less girl to be Luna.” My mate’s words pierced through my heart, and this time, the pain of rejection was real.

I never thought my mate would reject me. That is not what I heard about mates. My mate was supposed to be there for me, and save me from this hell of a life I have. Instead, I was cheated by my sister again, and that led to me remaining mateless for life.

Why did the Moon Goddess hate me so much?

What did I ever do to offend her?

What was my fault in all of this?

These questions swamped in my head. I have had them for a while now, but there was no answer to any of them. I couldn’t bring myself to stay in that room anymore. I did not miss the disgusted look on my mate’s face, the disappointment on mom and dad’s face, and the victorious smirk on Malia’s face as I left the room.

—--------------

I don’t know how long it has been; I have been at the meadow for a few hours as I stared in the distance. I didn’t want to be surrounded by those mean wolves. I knew Malia wouldn’t stop for a second and spread the news about me trying to steal her mate in the whole pack.

I wanted to scream and tell everyone about Malia. I wanted everyone to know how evil she was, and how she had played with my mate bond. Maybe if I tell everyone the truth and expose Malia, then they will support me?

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a twig snap. I turned around, alert to find whoever was here. Rogue attacks in the packs were very common nowadays, and you would never know when a rogue sneaks in to attack you.

The sound of crunching dried leaves made me aware that someone was walking towards me in human form. The scent smelt familiar, and soon I recognized the scent of the intruder. I looked up, coming face to face with Malia. She had a huge smirk on her face.

“Aww, lil sis, are trying to run away?” she asked, looking at me with an annoying pout on her face. I turned away, not wanting to engage in another conversation with her.

“It’s rude to not answer your sister. I know mom and dad taught us well.” She said, trying to get my attention.

“Oh Miracle, are you angry that Jake didn’t accept you as his mate?” She asked, making me glare at her.

“Ah! So you’re angry?” she asked, laughing at me. I had enough of her and I couldn’t bear it anymore.

“What do you want, Malia? Are you not satisfied with what you have done?” I asked through my teeth.

To say I was angry was an understatement. Why was she not punished for playing around with my mate bond? Why was she not punished when she abused me by using silver and bringing a witch on my birthday to take my powers? Why? Why was she allowed to make mistakes and still no one cared enough to stop her? Why was I punished for mistakes that I never made? Why?

“Oh, my poor little sister, I know you are pissed, but you can’t do anything. I just had to ask the witch to do a minor spell, and you know the results.” She replied, laughing at me cruelly.

“You don’t deserve to be a Luna. I always knew you would be mated to an Alpha, and it was most likely to be Alpha Jake because it is rare for us to find mates outside the pack.” She continued, gloating about how she could do anything she wanted and no one could stop her.

“I feel so bad for you. It’s sad that you would be left to die alone, and believe me, no one in this pack would care if you died.” She said, as she continued to laugh.

“I am going to tell everyone about you,” I whispered. My voice was low, but still enough to reach her ears. She stopped laughing, froze for a second before she looked at me with an angry expression.

“What did you say?” She asked. I could see her seething in anger, but I didn’t care. I wanted to stand up for myself, even if it was only for once.

“You heard me, I will expose you in front of everyone.” I replied, feeling a little confident that I could do it.

“You think?” She said as a creepy, evil smile appeared on her face. Her hands disappeared in her pockets as she approached me.

Before I could even realize what was happening, I saw her attacking me with a silver dagger. It slashed through my arm, making me scream out in pain. She went to attack again, but I stopped her before she could hurt me again.

However, I knew I wouldn’t be able to fight her for a long time; she was stronger than me, but I did my absolute best. While we wrestled with each other, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching in our direction. I breathed a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived.

Malia held my hand in a tight grip, bringing it forward, slashing her hand with the silver dagger. She then pushed the dagger in my hand before crying out in pain, asking me to not hurt her.

“What are you doing?” I asked, trying to free myself, but she didn’t let me go.

“If it is my mate you want, I will leave Jake for you, but please don’t do this Miracle.” She cried. My eyes widened in fear when I saw Alpha Jake and a few warriors standing a few steps looking at me with anger.

Alpha Jake came forward, pulling Malia in his arms as he pushed me to the ground. I cried in pain when I fell on my wounded arm.

“Take her to the dungeon. I will punish her for hurting my mate in front of the entire pack.” He ordered. I cried, begging him to listen to me, but he didn’t. He turned away as he walked with Malia in his arms, as she smirked evilly while they dragged me to the dungeon.

Proof reading is needed and the story is being dragged out. I agree with Melissa Wilson…I also find it hard to believe that everyone in the pack is brainless ...

Miracle I feel empty inside. I am completely broken. There is nothing left of me anymore. I knew I wouldn't come out of this alive. I know the punishment of trying to hurt a fellow pack mate. No one believed me before, then why would they believe me now? I won’t try to prove myself innocent anymore. There is nothing for me to live for. However, there is one thing that I know I want to do before I leave this world, and that was to prove I wasn’t lying about Jake being my mate. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Mia whimper in my head. ‘I am sorry, Mia,’ I whispered. ‘I know you don’t deserve this, but you are stuck with a useless human like me. I hope the Goddess gives you a second life, and you get a partner you deserve.’ I continued. I was heartbroken because I couldn’t save her, no matter how much I tried. She was suffering with me, and will probably die with me too. ‘None of this is your fault, Miracle,’ she replied in a low whisper. ‘Don’t

Christopher Last night was uneventful. My wolf has been restless from the moment we arrived in this pack. I wanted nothing more than to return home, but I had business to take care of. If someone was using magic, it is dangerous not only for this pack but for the entire werewolf species. Toby was out to gather information. I knew it wouldn’t be long before he came back. I spent the morning training to keep myself occupied. It was after lunch when I returned to the guest house to find Toby anxiously pacing in my room. I frowned at the look of worry on his face. I walked in, closing the door behind me. He stood straight the moment he saw me enter. I sat on the couch, motioning for him to sit beside me. “Alpha, I have all the information you needed, and you will not like what I found out.” He said as soon as he sat on the chair beside me. I was about to ask him to spill it already, but the knock on the door stopped me. “Come in,” I called out. So

Christopher Alpha Stone was a grade A-asshole. He knew the consequences of trying to mess with me, but he still tried everything he could to be able to punish Miracle. My warning was enough for him to shut up. He knew if I said something, I would do it no matter what. It would have been to watch him get insulted in front of the elders while he freaked out about my attack. Miracle, however, seemed shocked at my words. Did she think I would have left her alone here to die? Even if she wasn’t my mate, I would have never let her die for something she didn’t do. The dumb Alpha then announced that Malia would be punished as per law. He took his anger on the girl by killing her instantly. It was the cheapest thing he could have done to soothe his ego. The moment he snapped Malia’s neck, Miracle screamed in horror. What surprised me more was the way Malia’s body glowed, and soon it felt like there was some sort of exchange happening. Miracle As soon as we walked out of the packhouse, my mate let go of my hand. I instantly missed the warmth his big hand provided me. He opened the door for me to get in the back. Once I was in, he walked around getting in from the other side while his Beta, who I now know is named Toby, sat in the driver's seat. It was weird sitting beside such a godly handsome man, and what made it even worse for me was his scent. His scent filled the car, letting me consume a bit of it every time I was breathing. I tried not to make a move in fear of getting his attention, but it was getting harder and harder with every passing second. Something inside me kept bugging me to toss my face in his direction and take a good look at him, but that would make me look desperate, so I kept my spine erected. Toby did not wait for another second, and put the car in drive the moment we were settled in. We fell into an awkward silence, and I didn’t know how to start a conversati

Miracle “Are you sure about that?” I jumped at the sweet voice that filled my ears and I turned to see who was intruding on my peace with Mia. In front of me stood a beautiful woman. I have seen no one as beautiful as her. She was a tall woman with a milky white skin. Her platinum blonde hair flew around her as she looked at me with a sweet, gentle smile on her face that enhanced her unique violet coloured eyes. “Are you sure you don’t want to talk about your mate?” The sound of her voice broke my trance, and I blinked my eyes, trying to focus. If I was really in heaven, then she must be an angel. “Yes, I don’t want to talk about him.” I mumbled, but I was sure she heard me. Christopher “Who are they?” Esmeralda’s voice had a stern, angry edge as her eyes glowed green once again. I looked at her, confused at her sudden anger, alarmed. I knew then and there, something was terribly wrong. “What’s wrong?” I asked, almost instantly. “Who are they?” She asked again. “They are Miracle’s family.” I replied. Her body visibly relaxed as her eyes returned to their normal colour. She frowned, looking at them, still not saying anything as she observed them. “Can someone tell me what is happening?” My attention snapped to Miracle’s father, John. He looked older than his age, but something was off about them. My senses were on high alert. I sniffed the air, and almost immediately, a growl left my lips. Why the hell did they smell like rogues? “Toby?” I turned to look at my Beta. He knew what I wanted to know without even asking the question. He sighed, and I hated that I had tired him out. Christopher “I wasn’t talking about that ritual and spell. Someone cast another spell on her, and it was from years ago.” Esmeralda’s words shocked everyone in the room. What the hell is going on with Miracle? How much has she suffered over the years? “What do you mean?” I growled. She glared at me, rolling her eyes at my obvious anger. I was getting anxious with each passing second, and didn’t like the uneasy feeling. “Stop growling at me. You might be an Alpha, but I am not one of your pack members to bow down to you. I am only answerable to the council. I am here to help you, and you need to show me respect. If you can’t respect me just because you hate my kind, then I will take my leave.” Her eyes glowed a bright green as she spoke to me in a stern voice. “I might be a witch, but I am not one of them.” She spoke in an angry tone. I decided it was best for me to shut up. I didn't mean to growl at her. I was just upset with the fact that Miracle had

Christopher I have been waiting for what looks like hours, and there is no sign of any elder arriving with the healer. I was getting impatient. We did not have so much time to waste waiting for them. They knew how critical Miracle was, yet they were not taking things seriously. My mind kept playing the events of the day I found out Miracle was my second chance mate. The doctor's words echoed in my head. I wonder if everything that happened on that day was somehow related to what the doctor found out, but I wouldn’t know until the fucking healer arrives. ‘You are going to have to kill the healer for keeping us waiting.’ Trent growled in my head and I sighed audibly. ‘Don’t be reckless Trent, we need the healer to check and treat Miracle.’ I replied, trying to calm him down. ‘Trent, we don’t want Miracle to suffer anymore than what she has already been through. You need to stay calm.’ It was important for us to leave our Alpha ego aside and think calmly

Christopher I felt relieved when the doctor informed me that my blood helped them keep Miracle stable. However, it didn’t help her much with the healing process. It has been over a day and there is no sign of her waking up. The pack doctor ran a lot of tests to check what was happening with her. So far, he hasn’t been able to figure anything out. We are waiting for the latest test results, and the doctor said we might need to call for a healer. I had requested the council members to bring a healer. They were the only ones who could bring in a healer we could trust. Considering this was my mate, and Luna, the council was quick to accept my request. We were waiting for them to arrive. We are expecting their arrival today, but what has me worried is there was no update from Toby. I haven’t heard from him ever since he left yesterday. I was wondering what could possibly take him so long to just get Miracle’s family. Did they refuse to return with Toby? Th

Maybe if I would have handled this situation well, then she would have been safe and sound at home. I was far away from the pack, and it took me a very long time to reach the pack hospital. The medical staff rushed to help me get Miracle in. The pack doctor barked orders and nurses scrambled around. Toby and Breena were both at the hospital waiting for me. “Alpha, this way,” the doctor said as he guided me down the hallway towards one of the VIP rooms. I didn’t wait for him to say anything else, and took her inside the first vacant room I found. She was barely breathing, and her bleeding hadn't stopped. It increased my worries as I gently placed her on the hospital bed. “Why is she not healing?” I asked in a panicked voice. I didn’t care about anything at the moment. I just
