"I don't want Dean to have to relive any of this by discussing it with me, but I do believe it's important for me to understand. I'll talk to him like you suggested, but for now, I'd prefer to let him continue healing," I tell Jovielyn.

Jovielyn nods, acknowledging it's a wise choice. She knows her son better than most, and he's not as emotionally stable as he appears. She reassures me that Dean has never been one to lose his temper, but when faced with overwhelming sadness, he's drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
