Meanwhile, Liza stood on the street, clutching nothing but a change of clothes and a few toiletries. Grateful for Dean's help, she reflected, "I suppose he could have killed me. I almost wish he had. Bastard."

It was a tough life when nobody wanted her around. Even the desperate truck drivers discarded her once they got what they wanted. While she had grown accustomed to this way of living over the years, she realized she was getting too old to be out in the cold, selling the only warmth she had left.
