As the final elder left the council hall, Lucian glanced toward Xavier, who stood at the entrance, leaning against the doorframe with a smug smile playing on his lips. Lucian’s expression darkened. He had been observing Xavier throughout the meeting, the way he strutted in and boasted, making a spectacle of himself in front of the very people he intended to lead. It hadn’t gone unnoticed by the others either, their eyes flickering with unease at the display of arrogance.

“Xavier, drop me home,” Lucian said with a sigh, his tone clipped. “We need to talk.”

Xavier straightened, a smirk still on his face as he walked over to the SUV. “Of course, Uncle,” he replied, a mocking tone barely concealed in his voice.

As they drove through the winding roads that led to Lucian’s home, Xavier gazed out the window, his eyes scanning the pack lands like a king surveying his kingdom. Lucian’s jaw clenched, the sight of Xavier’s cocky demeanor grating on his nerves. When they arrived at Lucian’s home

Agnes felt dread growing in the pit of her stomach as she stirred the coffee, her hands trembled slightly. The aroma filled the kitchen, but all she could smell was guilt. She had never felt more torn in her life. As the senior maid, it was easy enough to send Jane off to complete other tasks, but now she stood at the counter, vial in hand, knowing that what she was about to do could change everything. Lucian’s threats echoed in her mind, a constant reminder of what was at stake if she failed. Her fingers hesitated over the steaming mug. Was this really her only option? Could she really betray Alpha Damien, the man who had been nothing but kind to her, and Lady Stephanie, who treated everyone in the mansion with respect? Agnes closed her eyes, trying to block out the wave of guilt threatening to overwhelm her. ‘This is for my family’, she reminded herself, the words feeling hollow. With shaking hands, she uncorked the vial and poured its contents into the coffee. Lucian had assured he

Everyone gathered around the arena, watching as Elder Lucian took center stage with a smirk plastered on his face. He spoke confidently, his voice booming over the assembled pack members as he introduced Xavier. “Today, we witness the fight for the future of our pack,” Lucian declared, his voice ringing with self-assuredness. “Xavier, my nephew, has come to challenge Alpha Damien, not out of malice, but out of duty. A duty to ensure that this pack is led by someone who will push us forward, who will rule with strength and vision.”Damien stood silently off to the side, his arms crossed over his broad chest. His jaw was tight, and his eyes locked on Lucian with an intensity that could burn holes through a stone. Every fiber of his being wanted to lunge at the elder and expose him for the traitor he was. The knowledge of Lucian’s plot to poison him churned in his gut like bile. He could hear Jafar, his wolf, pacing restlessly inside him."I want to tear his throat out," Jafar growled.

"I have always sworn to protect this pack—to lead with dignity, strength, and honor. But today, I stand before you not just as your Alpha, but as a man who was betrayed. Betrayed by one of our own—an elder who sought to undermine my leadership and bring harm not only to me but to this entire pack." Murmurs rippled through the crowd. Shock, confusion, and disbelief spread among the pack members, their eyes widening as they tried to comprehend what their Alpha was saying. Damien paused, letting the weight of his words sink in before he continued. "Elder Lucian," he said, voice sharp as a blade, "plotted against me. He sought to weaken me before the fight and poison me. But thanks to the courage of my daughter, Kayla, I stand before you unharmed." He gestured to Kayla, who stood near Stephanie, her small figure appearing both vulnerable and strong at the same time. Gasps escaped from the crowd. Eyes darted towards Lucian, who stood amongst the elders, his face unreadable, though a fl

Damien’s eyes gleamed as he stood by the window, the light from the moon illuminated his silhouette. His posture was confident and regal, as though a burden had been lifted from his shoulders. He turned to Stephanie, his voice almost a murmur, “Now that the fight is over and I’ve won, nothing is stopping the Luna ceremony.” His tone carried a sense of finality, as though the battle had cleansed any doubts that once plagued the pack.Stephanie sat on the edge of the bed, watching him, her fingers absentmindedly fiddling with the hem of her dress. “I’m happy it’s over,” she said with a soft smile, her eyes glinting with pride, but something in her gaze gave her away. Damien noticed it immediately—a subtle flicker of concern, almost hidden beneath her warm expression. He furrowed his brows, stepping closer to her.“What is it, Stephanie?” he asked, his voice softer now, filled with the tender familiarity of their past. He reached out and took her hand. “I can see something’s bothering y

Alpha Damien appointed men to go get the sorceress, there was no point in delaying, the earlier the better. “You,” he said, pointing to two of some of his trusted men, “you’re going to get the sorceress.”The guards exchanged a quick glance, unsure whether to be relieved or anxious about the task ahead. Damien’s voice cut through their uncertainty. “Tell her it’s private,” he said, his tone sharp. “Tell her she needs to come immediately. No delays. No excuses. This is important.”One of the guards nodded, stepping forward. “Understood, Alpha. Should we take the usual route, or—” “Use the old pathways. She hates being bothered, but I don’t care. Get her here as fast as you can. I don’t want anyone else knowing about this.” He gave them a hard look, his eyes narrowing. “This is between us.”“Right away, Alpha,” they replied in unison, bowing slightly before turning on their heels.Damien watched them disappear, his mind already shifting to the next task at hand. As soon as Damien and the sorceress entered the study, Damien gestured toward a plush chair near the large oak desk, a slight smile on his lips as he tried to make the atmosphere welcoming. "Please, have a seat," Damien said, his voice calm. His tone carried the authority of an alpha, but there was an undertone of respect. He had learned long ago that the sorceress, with her strange powers, was not someone to cross lightly. The sorceress moved toward the chair without a word. Her presence commanded the room, her sharp eyes scanning Damien as though reading him before he even spoke. Her silver-gray hair spilled over her shoulders, blending with the symbols embroidered into her gown. She settled into the chair, clasping her hands together in her lap. The silence between them was thick, almost suffocating.Damien was about to explain why he had summoned her when she spoke first, her voice low and knowing. Damien paced back and forth in the hallway, his jaw clenched in frustration. The sorceress’s words still echoed in his mind, but he refused to let them take root. He wasn’t a man who cowered before superstitions or dark omens. He was the Alpha, the leader of the pack, and no spirits from an ancient past would have power over his family—least of all over Kayla. “It was a one-time thing,” he muttered to himself as he paused by the window, looking out at the rising sun over the forest. His hands gripped the windowsill tightly as if he could will away the doubt creeping into his mind.He hadn’t discussed it further with Stephanie. They’d both agreed to move forward, to focus on the Luna ceremony. The pack needed stability now more than ever. And if there was one thing that could unify them, it was the installation of Stephanie as Luna. After everything that had happened lately, what the pack needed was some good news and not another drama. Damien believed that whatever was happening with

He reached out, resting a gentle hand on her arm. “What… what happened to you, Cassandra?”Cassandra took a shaky breath, her voice filled with shame and regret as memories rushed back, memories of the choices she had made, the paths she had chosen, and the arrogance that had blinded her. “I trusted someone,” she began, voice breaking. “A younger man. Damien stood on the edge of the field overlooking the lush greenery of parts of the pack territory. He glanced around at the pack members beginning their morning routines and took a deep breath, his mind elsewhere. It was Hank's invitation that lingered in his thoughts—a trip to South Africa, a vacation that had taken on a life of its own in his mind, fueled by encouragement from Stephanie and the children.“I think you should go," Chris had told him one evening, sensing Damien's hesitation. "You've been carrying this pack for years, barely taking a moment for yourself. Let me handle things here for a little while. I owe you that much—and more."Damien had turned to his beta, touched by Chris's words. "Chris, you know since after the whole ordeal we have faced, I planned on never stepping out of the pack for years to come”Chris gave a light chuckle, patting Damien's shoulder with a brotherly confidence. The night had quieted down slightly as the guests had left, but the heart of the pack remained. Under the glow of the moonlight, laughter and music filled the air, while the remaining pack members continued to dance and celebrate. Stephanie and Damien stood together, watching Caleb and Kayla play with the other children, their faces glowing with happiness.Suddenly, Chris approached, his arm around Zita, both of them laughing softly. “Alpha,” Chris began. “Zita and I have been talking, and we… We'd love to exchange our vows and officially become mates tonight, with all of you here to witness it. It feels right on a night like this.”Damien’s face lit up with surprise, then softened with a deep warmth. “Chris, I can’t think of a better moment. No one deserves this more than you. It’s an honor to have you both join as mates on this special night.”Chris nodded, visibly moved, and his hand tightened around Zita’s. “Thank you, Da

As the celebration continued into the evening, the guests began forming a line to present their gifts to the new Luna. Stephanie graciously accepted each one, touched by the thoughtfulness behind every present. Her heart warmed as she saw the way her pack and loved ones had come together to make this day so memorable.Albert, Damien's former gamma and new Alpha of knight pack, presented a beautifully crafted silver pendant adorned with the Moon Goddess symbol. “To remind you of your strength and wisdom, Luna,” he said with a smile, bowing his head in respect.Stephanie took the pendant with a smile, deeply moved. “Thank you, Albert. I’ll wear it proudly,” she replied, clasping the pendant close to her heart.Jane approached next, holding a delicate painting of a moonlit forest scene. “It’s a reminder of home,” Jane said softly. “Those times you felt lost, but now you have gotten all you deserve because you are a good person.”Stephanie’s eyes shone with gratitude as she took the gift.

The night before the Luna ceremony, Stephanie lay wide awake, staring at the ceiling, her thoughts swirling with anticipation and excitement. It was hard to believe the day was finally here. She was about to step fully into the role of Luna, something that had once seemed unimaginable. Though she had faced endless trials and tribulations, she had come full circle, returning to the place where she now felt a profound sense of belonging. In the early morning hours, she heard a gentle knock at her door. “Mom?” Caleb’s voice whispered through the door.Stephanie rose and opened the door to find Caleb standing there, looking every bit as anxious as she felt. He began to speak but kept stopping, clearly struggling to find the right words.“Mom, are you… excited?” he finally asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.Stephanie placed her hands on his shoulders. “More than you can imagine,” she replied softly. “I’m nervous too, just like you.” She squeezed his shoulders reassuringly. “But

Stephanie could feel the children’s excitement building as they made their way through the heart of the pack’s community toward Alicia's shop. Though she had initially considered using a human seamstress, she felt a sense of ease in choosing Alicia, a decision that felt more meaningful now. Alicia was not only an incredible seamstress but also a woman who deeply understood the werewolf world and its sacred ceremonies. Stephanie knew that Alicia’s designs would capture the spirit and traditions of the pack, honoring the connection to the Moon Goddess. When they arrived, Alicia’s shop was warm and inviting, filled with bolts of fabric in rich colors and textures that seemed to glow under the sunlight streaming through the windows. Stephanie took in the scene, feeling a surge of pride for her pack and their traditions. The door swung open, and Alicia looked up, her face breaking into a broad smile when she saw them. “Stephanie!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine delight. “And

As they settled down for breakfast, the atmosphere was light with laughter and the occasional clink of silverware. The events of the past few days felt distant, overshadowed by the warmth of family and the security of home. The children chattered excitedly about their favorite dishes, as Stephanie and Damien exchanged glances, each silently grateful for the peace they now had.Just then, Chris and Zita walked in, both of them beaming, a radiance about them that instantly caught Stephanie’s attention. “Hey! Look who’s finally joining us!” she called out with a welcoming grin."Couldn't resist the smell of breakfast, could you?" Damien added, chuckling as he pulled out chairs for them. Chris laughed, nodding his thanks as he and Zita took their seats at the table, the children greeting them with enthusiastic waves and giggles.“We thought we’d pop in to see everyone before the day fully got underway,” Chris said, giving a warm smile around the table. “But truthfully, Zita and I have som

Stephanie stirred, blinking sleepily as the trauma of the previous night’s ordeal washed over her. She glanced beside her to see Damien, Kayla, and Caleb, all nestled close together, their faces peaceful in sleep. The children had insisted on sleeping with them that night, clinging to the safety and warmth they found between them after the terrifying events they'd endured. Stephanie had found no reason to say no; in fact, their closeness had provided her with a rare sense of calm.Taking a deep breath, Stephanie gently placed her hand on Damien’s shoulder, whispering his name as she brushed back the strands of hair that had fallen across his face. "Damien," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible. He blinked awake, his gaze meeting hers, still clouded with sleep. Slowly, she woke the children too, brushing a soft kiss over each of their foreheads.
