Chris sat silently beside Stephanie as she sat slumped in the corner, still trembling from her sudden shifting and the weight of the revelation of Alpha Enzo’s betrayal, Ava’s cold confession, and the gnawing fear of what had become of Damien and Kayla.

For a while, Chris said nothing. He knew Stephanie needed space, needed time to process the flood of emotions. Her breath was shaky, her eyes staring blankly at the floor. The room was still, the faint echoes of Ava’s screams long gone. Only the sound of Stephanie’s quiet sobs broke the silence.
