Alpha Damien did as he had promised and began the task of calling the parents of Caleb's friends. But it was not as easy as he had thought it would be, each of them was hesitant after all, the prospect of sending their children to a party in the city, hosted by someone they had never met, was understandably daunting.

He knew that convincing the parents individually on the phone was a daunting task, had it not been a personal matter, he would have sent one of his assistants to do the job, so he invited the parents to come to his office for a meeting to clarify any concerns they might have.

The room slowly filled as parents arrived, and took their seats. Alpha Damien chuckled within him, he only used to have such meetings to address diplomatic matters, security setups, pack events, and business meetings, never had he imagined he would invite parents to talk about a birthday party.

"Thank you all for coming,” He began. "I know you have concerns about the party in the city, and I want to

Stephanie stood at the doorway, she had been counting down the hours until she could see Caleb again. Their phone conversations over the past two days had been lovely, but nothing compared to the warmth of a physical embrace. The event planner she hired had transformed the venue beautifully, but Stephanie's involvement in the process had been hands-on. She wanted everything to be perfect, not just for Caleb, but for Kayla too.Kayla, however, has been difficult lately. Her tantrums had escalated, and she frequently accused Stephanie of loving Caleb more. "You just care about him because he's a boy and your precious son!" Kayla had shouted during one of their arguments. Stephanie had tried to soothe her, explaining that she loved them both equally, that they were her children, carried in her womb, and born from the same love. But Kayla remained unconvinced. She missed the simpler times when it was just her, her mother, Grandpa Hank, and occasionally Dr. Zita. The return of Caleb had di

When Alpha Damien reached Kayla's door, he paused, and took a deep breath, steadying himself before knocking. It felt like he was going to war and not visiting his 8-year-old daughter "Kayla, it’s Dad. Can I come in?" He saidThere was a long, heavy silence. No response came from the other side. After a moment, he turned the doorknob and stepped inside. The room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn to block out the afternoon sun. Kayla sat at the edge of her bed, clutching a teddy bear tightly to her chest, her face buried in its fur.Damien approached slowly. "Hey, sweetie," he began, trying to keep his voice gentle and soothing. "Are you okay?"Kayla didn't look up. Her voice was small, barely audible. "What do you want?" she asked."I just wanted to check on you. Everyone's waiting for you downstairs. We miss you."She finally looked up, her eyes red and swollen. "Everyone's waiting for Caleb," she retorted, her voice trembling with anger. "You don’t care about me. You never did. Yo

“Where is the birthday girl?” Dr. Zita said as she walked into the venue. She came in late due to work and most of the guests had already left, and Alpha Damien, along with Caleb and his friends, were making preparations to leave. Stephanie's face lit up upon seeing her old friend, and she quickly moved to greet her."Zita! I'm so glad you could make it," Stephanie exclaimed, embracing the doctor warmly.Dr. Zita returned the hug “So where is he, don't keep me in suspense.”Stephanie brings Caleb closer to her and Dr. Zita’s face broadens into a smile.“My! Caleb, you've grown so much!" She said, "I remember when you were just a tiny baby. Now you're almost as tall as I am!" She chuckled, ruffling his hair.Caleb grinned shyly, looking up at the woman who seemed so familiar yet was a stranger to him. Stephanie placed a hand on Caleb's shoulder and introduced them. "Caleb, this is Dr. Zita. She was there when you and Kayla were born. She helped bring you both into this world and saved

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it," she said softly, her eyes full of understanding. But Dr. Zita took a deep breath, lifting her gaze to meet Stephanie's. "No, it's okay," she replied, her voice steady but sad. "Whatever happened between Chris and me was a long time ago. I think I'm finally ready to talk about it."She began to recount the early days of their relationship. "We started dating in high school," she began, a small, wistful smile tugging at her lips. "Everyone knew us back then because we were inseparable. We'd go to the cafeteria together, walk to classes together... We even rode to school on Chris's bike. I was terrified at first, but he always reassured me that I was safe with him. I trusted him completely."Stephanie listened intently, nodding along as Dr. Zita spoke. The memories seemed to bring a brief, bittersweet joy to her friend's face. But then, as the story progressed, Dr. Zita's expression darkened, her voice growing quieter."Things started to c

Stephanie reached out and took Dr. Zita's hands, her eyes brimming with tears that she had held back for too long. Her voice trembled as she spoke, "It's not me who should be thanking you, Zita. It's you who deserves all the thanks in the world." She squeezed Zita's hands tightly, as she continued. "You helped bring my children into this world and made sure we all survived when we were poisoned. You found an antidote for Kayla, giving her a chance at a new life, even when I foolishly accused you of trying to harm us. Because of you, I'm here with my children today. The life I live now, the happiness I feel, it's all because of your unconditional love and dedication."Dr. Zita's eyes welled up as she listened to Stephanie's heartfelt words. Their shared history of trials and triumphs was a memory held dearly. They both sobbed quietly, as they hugged each other. After a while, they pulled themselves together. Stephanie gently wiped her eyes and asked, "So, when do you plan to travel

Dr. Zita was already feeling the weariness of her journey; she turned to Alpha Damien with a small, apologetic smile. "Before I see Chris, I'd like to freshen up," she said. "I want to make sure I'm clean, to avoid any risk of contamination."Alpha Damien nodded in agreement, understanding her concern. "Of course," he said, gesturing to one of the maids standing nearby. "Please prepare a room for her."The maid nodded and led the way, but Dr. Zita, familiar with the layout of the mansion, decided to take a brief detour. She made her way to the kitchen, where she found Chef Mark bustling about. He looked up as she entered, his eyes widening in surprise and delight."Zita! Is it really you?" Chef Mark exclaimed, wiping his hands on his apron before pulling her into a warm hug. "It's been so long!"Dr. Zita returned the embrace, smiling. "It's good to see you too, Mark. How have you been?"Chef Mark stepped back, looking her over with joy. "I've been well, though I heard about everything

Dr. Zita's heart pounded as she entered the room where Chris lay, his once vibrant presence now diminished to a still form on the bed. The sight of him, covered in bruises and burn marks, brought a lump to her throat. She swallowed hard, trying to steady herself, but the tears came anyway, quietly streaming down her cheeks. She moved closer, her hands trembling slightly as she took a seat beside him."Chris," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "It's me, Zita. Everything's going to be okay. You just need to fight a little longer."She gently took his hand in hers, feeling the warmth of his skin against her palm. Her fingers traced the outline of his, remembering the times they had held hands in the past. "I know we haven't spoken in years," she continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I still care about you. I always have. And I need you to get better, to see how much you're loved."As she spoke, she felt a slight pressure against her hand. Startled, she looked down

Stephanie had always loved Sunday morning especially since she started living in the mansion her father gave her. She was happy to be back after staying in a hidden location for a week after she was shot. There was always a tranquil energy around her kitchen, and this morning was no different as the morning sunlight streamed into the kitchen as Stephanie and Kayla sat down for breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the scent of pancakes, and bacon was heavenly. She prepared a plate of the meal for Kayla with orange juice and also made a plate for herself with a second helping of coffee "I miss Aunt Zita a lot," Kayla said. She played with her food, her fork tracing patterns in the syrup on her plate before cutting a slice of pancake and shoving it into her mouth Stephanie looked up from her coffee, a sympathetic smile on her face. "Don't worry, sweetheart. She'll be back soon," she assured her.Kayla nodded. After a moment, she looked up, her eyes brightening w

Stop lounging around and get back to work,” he snapped, his words cutting through.Hank’s eyes widened, the shock unmistakable as he turned his look back to Cassandra. “Cassandra… you work here?”Cassandra’s shoulders slumped, her eyes dropping to her hands as shame washed over her. “Yes,” she murmured, voice barely audible. “This is my job now, Hank.”Hank’s face softened, his shock giving way to a profound sadness as he took in her worn appearance. He reached out, resting a gentle hand on her arm. “What… what happened to you, Cassandra?”Cassandra took a shaky breath, her voice filled with shame and regret as memories rushed back, memories of the choices she had made, the paths she had chosen, and the arrogance that had blinded her. “I trusted someone,” she began, voice breaking. “A younger man. He made me feel… seen again, like I mattered. But he took everything I had and left. I lost my home, my status… everything.” Her vo

Damien stood on the edge of the field overlooking the lush greenery of parts of the pack territory. He glanced around at the pack members beginning their morning routines and took a deep breath, his mind elsewhere. It was Hank's invitation that lingered in his thoughts—a trip to South Africa, a vacation that had taken on a life of its own in his mind, fueled by encouragement from Stephanie and the children.“I think you should go," Chris had told him one evening, sensing Damien's hesitation. "You've been carrying this pack for years, barely taking a moment for yourself. Let me handle things here for a little while. I owe you that much—and more."Damien had turned to his beta, touched by Chris's words. "Chris, you know since after the whole ordeal we have faced, I planned on never stepping out of the pack for years to come”Chris gave a light chuckle, patting Damien's shoulder with a brotherly confidence. The night had quieted down slightly as the guests had left, but the heart of the pack remained. Under the glow of the moonlight, laughter and music filled the air, while the remaining pack members continued to dance and celebrate. Stephanie and Damien stood together, watching Caleb and Kayla play with the other children, their faces glowing with happiness.Suddenly, Chris approached, his arm around Zita, both of them laughing softly. “Alpha,” Chris began. “Zita and I have been talking, and we… We'd love to exchange our vows and officially become mates tonight, with all of you here to witness it. It feels right on a night like this.”Damien’s face lit up with surprise, then softened with a deep warmth. “Chris, I can’t think of a better moment. No one deserves this more than you. You’ve stood by me, through every storm and every success. It’s an honor to have you both join as mates on this special night.”Chris nodded, visibly moved, and his hand tightened around Zita’s. “Thank you, Da

As the celebration continued into the evening, the guests began forming a line to present their gifts to the new Luna. Stephanie graciously accepted each one, touched by the thoughtfulness behind every present. Her heart warmed as she saw the way her pack and loved ones had come together to make this day so memorable.Albert, Damien's former gamma and new Alpha of knight pack, presented a beautifully crafted silver pendant adorned with the Moon Goddess symbol. “To remind you of your strength and wisdom, Luna,” he said with a smile, bowing his head in respect.Stephanie took the pendant with a smile, deeply moved. “Thank you, Albert. I’ll wear it proudly,” she replied, clasping the pendant close to her heart.Jane approached next, holding a delicate painting of a moonlit forest scene. “It’s a reminder of home,” Jane said softly. “Those times you felt lost, but now you have gotten all you deserve because you are a good person.”Stephanie’s eyes shone with gratitude as she took the gift.

The night before the Luna ceremony, Stephanie lay wide awake, staring at the ceiling, her thoughts swirling with anticipation and excitement. It was hard to believe the day was finally here. She was about to step fully into the role of Luna, something that had once seemed unimaginable. Though she had faced endless trials and tribulations, she had come full circle, returning to the place where she now felt a profound sense of belonging. In the early morning hours, she heard a gentle knock at her door. “Mom?” Caleb’s voice whispered through the door.Stephanie rose and opened the door to find Caleb standing there, looking every bit as anxious as she felt. He began to speak but kept stopping, clearly struggling to find the right words.“Mom, are you… excited?” he finally asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.Stephanie placed her hands on his shoulders. “More than you can imagine,” she replied softly. “I’m nervous too, just like you.” She squeezed his shoulders reassuringly. “But

Stephanie could feel the children’s excitement building as they made their way through the heart of the pack’s community toward Alicia's shop. Though she had initially considered using a human seamstress, she felt a sense of ease in choosing Alicia, a decision that felt more meaningful now. Alicia was not only an incredible seamstress but also a woman who deeply understood the werewolf world and its sacred ceremonies. Stephanie knew that Alicia’s designs would capture the spirit and traditions of the pack, honoring the connection to the Moon Goddess. When they arrived, Alicia’s shop was warm and inviting, filled with bolts of fabric in rich colors and textures that seemed to glow under the sunlight streaming through the windows. Stephanie took in the scene, feeling a surge of pride for her pack and their traditions. The door swung open, and Alicia looked up, her face breaking into a broad smile when she saw them. “Stephanie!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine delight. “And

As they settled down for breakfast, the atmosphere was light with laughter and the occasional clink of silverware. The events of the past few days felt distant, overshadowed by the warmth of family and the security of home. The children chattered excitedly about their favorite dishes, as Stephanie and Damien exchanged glances, each silently grateful for the peace they now had.Just then, Chris and Zita walked in, both of them beaming, a radiance about them that instantly caught Stephanie’s attention. “Hey! Look who’s finally joining us!” she called out with a welcoming grin."Couldn't resist the smell of breakfast, could you?" Damien added, chuckling as he pulled out chairs for them. Chris laughed, nodding his thanks as he and Zita took their seats at the table, the children greeting them with enthusiastic waves and giggles.“We thought we’d pop in to see everyone before the day fully got underway,” Chris said, giving a warm smile around the table. “But truthfully, Zita and I have som

Stephanie stirred, blinking sleepily as the trauma of the previous night’s ordeal washed over her. She glanced beside her to see Damien, Kayla, and Caleb, all nestled close together, their faces peaceful in sleep. The children had insisted on sleeping with them that night, clinging to the safety and warmth they found between them after the terrifying events they'd endured. Stephanie had found no reason to say no; in fact, their closeness had provided her with a rare sense of calm.Taking a deep breath, Stephanie gently placed her hand on Damien’s shoulder, whispering his name as she brushed back the strands of hair that had fallen across his face. "Damien," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible. He blinked awake, his gaze meeting hers, still clouded with sleep. Slowly, she woke the children too, brushing a soft kiss over each of their foreheads.
