“It wasn’t my fault!”

“You left your property unattended!”

My brain was wheezing due to these loud, heated arguments, trying their best to explode my head. After a while, my hearing ability refused to cope up with my condition.

I could only hear shouting without any word, my body was trembling uncontrollably with its intensity. Soon, that blame game turned into a fight, where Zayden and Elmer were using their talents to kill each other.

However, I was done with it!

Gathering every speck of the remaining strength in my body, I leaned against the wall and got up. An involuntary scream escaped from my mouth as these little movements hurt like hell, my aching body wasn’t ready to move an inch.

Despite the searing body pain, my brain had activated flee mode, ushering me to move or disappear in thin air. With my wobbly knees unable to bear my weight, I stood up after falling twice.
