Chapter 92

Summoning every ounce of courage I had left, I made a split-second decision. I veered off the path, leaping over fallen logs and ducking beneath low-hanging branches. The wolves, momentarily confused by my sudden change in direction, hesitated for a moment before resuming their pursuit.

My heart pounded in my chest as I darted through the undergrowth, my movements fueled by a desperate determination to survive. I weaved between trees, hoping to lose the wolves in the labyrinthine expanse of the forest. My senses heightened, I relied on my instincts, and my ears strained to catch any clue that might reveal their whereabouts.

In the midst of my escape, a glimmer of hope flickered within me. If I could outmaneuver the wolves and find my way back to the city's territory or luckily out of the woods to a nearby safer city, I might have a chance at survival. But the wolves were relentless, their primal instincts driving them forward, their tongues lolling out with the promise of a chase
